Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge Set against the magnificent backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, the glittering Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national park. Secluded within a grove of acacia trees, the lodge looks out over the golden savannah plains, with uninterrupted views of the mountain itself. Close by are a series of emerald green swamps, which are fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro.

Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge The first lodge ever to be built in a Kenyan National Park, Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge is superbly situated in the lee of Mount Kilimanjaro. Encircled by the volcanic splendour of the Chyulu Hills, the world’s youngest volcanic range, this stone-built lodge overlooks its own water hole, which is visited daily by elephant, buffalo and a wide variety of plains game.

Serena Mountain Lodge Sailing amid the primeval forests of Kenya’s highest mountain, Mount Kenya, the timbered Serena Mountain Lodge offers champagne-clear mountain air, sweeping views across the tree-canopy, sparkling trout streams, and gentle forest walks.

Located at 2,134 metres above sea level, on the lower slopes of the mountain, the lodge is cool, tranquil and hushed for optimum gamesightings. The open-air viewing-deck looks down on to its own water hole and salt-lick, which attracts numerous herds of elephant and buffalo.

Accommodation Each of the 42 timber-built, cabinstyled rooms has a private balcony overlooking the water hole. The dĂŠcor, which echoes the Kikuyu culture, features hand-woven wall hangings, soft lighting and cosily-warm soft furnishings.

Sweetwaters Tented Camp, Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Located on the plains of Mount Kenya, this luxury tented camp offers a sheltered oasis, clustered around a watering hole and set in the pristine calm of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The conservancy, which has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any Kenyan national park, also offers the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species.

Location Sweetwaters Tented Camp lies at the centre of the 110,000-acre Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which lies 17kms from Nanyuki (airstrip) and 217kms from Nairobi.

Accommodation The camp features 39 luxury tents, each with its own private verandah.

Tent amenities Include: ensuite bathroom (hot and cold running water, 24-hour hot showers and flushing WCs), electricity, tent service, safe and hairdryers (upon request from reception), valet and laundry services and the use of a dedicated TV lounge CAMP AMENITIES Dining, bars and hospitality The Rhino Dining Room is located within what was once the ranch manager’s house and has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the watering hole. Ol Pejeta House, Ol Pejeta Conservancy Once the exclusive ranch house of multi-millionaire Adnan Kashoggi, this magnificently presented house stands at the centre of the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Set in extensive grounds, with glorious views of Mount Kenya, this opulent mansion features a series of reception rooms, including an elegant drawing room with a baronial fireplace and a series of scenic verandas. Accommodation includes a private guest cottage, two master suites and two guest bedrooms while the grounds include two private swimming pools and a barbeque and external dining area.
