SERGIO A. BALLEN ZAMORA
Architect, Master in Sustainable Architecture from the University of Alcalá (Master in Advanced Project of Architecture and City, Spain) and Master in Habitat and Housing from the National University of Colombia. Finishing a PhD in Technology of Architecture, Building and Urban Planning.
My professional performance has been as an independent architect and collaborating in different firms dedicated to consulting in architectural and urban design, especially sustainability and bioclimatic. In 2008, the National University of Colombia supported the financing of the research "Social housing in height: Urban typologies and production guidelines in Bogotá", with which in 2009 I obtained second place in the Ibero-American Prize for Research Thesis on Sustainable Housing in Mexico City and is subsequently published. I received a scholarship from the National University of Colombia in 2006 and by the Spanish Government in 2013 to carry out Master's studies. Complementary activities as a university professor, consultant and participation as a speaker in different seminars. Interests in housing, sustainable architecture and energy efficiency.

DYNAMIC SPACE AND COMFORT
The SCA convened a competition whose objective was to propose ideas for the intervention of three blocks in the center of the city, surrounded by heritage buildings such as the La Sabana railway station and under the problems of this sector. In this way, it was proposed to consolidate a wide public space unifying the blocks and fluid with respect to the Parque de la Sabana, together with a high-density house under bioclimatic and ecourbanism parameters, which also meets the most relevant determinants of the current Partial Plan.

SENSORY AND ENVIRONMENTAL STIMULATION In the Satélite Norte neighborhood of the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), a series of architectural and urban projects were developed to enhance the social and physical conditions of this sector that originated as an informal settlement, thanks to the initiative of the community. The developed project was an easy-to-build and bioclimatic nursery, using local materials and community management. This is conceived as multiprogressive, that is, it grows and adapts to the needs of the community in multiple ways. It was very important for the project to develop characteristics that stimulate children's senses and an environmental education.

ALGORITHMS AND DESIGN As an exercise in an advanced architectural design workshop, an innovative methodology was developed that involves ICTs, free detection software, image editor and data parameterization, whose possibilities to be edited by binary code or algorithms are infinite. It is a tool that detects movement in buildings or in public spaces and produces resulting images that can be used in urban studies or for diagnosing foreign trade. Exercises were carried out in buildings and streets of Alcalá de Henares (Spain) and Bucharest (Romania). Work selected for exhibition at the Romanian Architecture Congress ROCAD 2014.

ENVIRONMENTAL INDICATORS
As an exercise on environmental criteria for urban design, an eco-neighborhood was developed in the city of Alcalá de Henares (Spain) analyzing different aspects such as energy, transport, landscape, urban structure, climate, air, sanitation and DPSIR indicators. As a result, the project integrates with the banks of the Henares River and reduces its environmental impacts, articulating alternative initiatives for energy generation and efficiency, stimulation of biotic elements, use of resources and low-impact transportation. The project will be presented to the city council authorities.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION This initiative is part of the Integration project, a process carried out with the municipality of Stuttgart (Germany) that finances urban revitalization processes in contaminated soils in Latin America. Through a contract with the District Secretary for the Environment, the design of a neighborhood park was consolidated through participatory design. This consisted of a series of workshops with the community and institutional coordination in order to pool ideas and perceptions. Finally, a design was reached that meets the needs of the community and the city in general, through an urban renovation project under sustainable guidelines on a site with environmental problems.

MATERIALITY The SCA organized a competition for the design of the Local City Hall of Usme, in a peripheral sector of the city of Bogotá, with sloping terrain and rural characteristics.
The architectural proposal presented was distinguished by giving greater importance to the semi-public route that the project passes through by connecting the local central square with a nearby public park, thanks to the adaptation to the sloping terrain. Another fundamental premise was to preserve the views from the plaza towards the nearby mountains.
This project was carried out together with a partner; We both work on sketches, diagrams, models, planimetry, 3D models, digital retouching and final presentation.

DENSIFY THE TERRITORY This work covers the theoretical framework of the production of low-rise social housing, through historical research that identifies its particularities and urban impacts in the city model proposed in the Bogotá Land Use Plan, which defines the quality and the accessibility of multifamily lowincome housing both due to the value of urban land and due to the dynamics of the real estate market.
From the analysis of the density in social housing in height, it establishes references and considerations of possible application in the contemporary city, on the basis of the social production of habitat and decent housing, the right to the city and sustainability. TRADITION The web page of world architecture competitions www.arquitectum.com convened an academic competition for the design of the Fashion Museum on Omotesando Street (Tokyo, Japan), which brings together the most prestigious haute couture houses in the world.
The challenge was to design a 100-meter-high museum-tower that contains exhibition areas for the history of 20th century fashion and constitutes an architectural landmark for Tokyo. As a result, a re-interpretation of different traditional Japanese elements was made through the application of the stone and the fold with Washi paper. To this is added the conceptual link between the street and the dynamism of shapes and colors that characterizes the fashion industry. Own project and designed with a partner.

MILESTONE AND MEMORY The objective of this competition was to complete the technical conditions necessary for the holding of international sporting events at the Nemesio Camacho El Campín Stadium in Bogotá and at the same time that its aesthetic conditions constitute an architectural and urban contribution to the city. One of the major determinants for the architectural proposal presented was the character of this stadium as a historical and urban landmark, offering an expansion of the program and an interior spatiality with different attributes without affecting the existing structure. Textures, voids, light and wood were elements to take into account for the façade proposal.

URBAN SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT Urban renewal programs are a relevant issue in cities due to their possibilities for economic and social development from the stimulation of dynamics that promote it, especially if it is in central areas of the city, as in this case. The UPZ Sabana presents a high degradation but at the same time it brings together a series of potentialities that are intrinsic to these areas as a result of high-impact activities (areas of looting, street sales, automotive trade, etc.). The proposal seeks to articulate these uses with the production of housing, whose catalyst is the stimulation of commercial activities through a tourist corridor and a social strategy that serves the resident population under criteria of sustainable economy, establishing a series of priority operations and the generation of new public spaces and green areas.
