Exploded Axonometric Perspective The fashion district of Soho is a crowded design district, where ingenuity must shine in order to have success. Pairing up with a fashion student at SCAD this design helps capture the dynamic and unique design characteristics of Menjie Di. Inspired through her illustrations and fluid designs this tower is inspired through the patterns and movements of her designs. The proportions are made to emulate Soho yet still create its unique identity in the area.

around a modular, but site specific design. Most important in the development of a city is education. Therefore by creating a modular, urban based school facility that can both expand and retract, it can serve as a modulus to create appropriate urban expansion. The buildings develop over time a contextual aesthetic.

Due to current predictions, much of the United States Coastline is set to be under water within the next 100 years. Therefore this design was intended to save the coastline, creating a new typology for receding coastlines, one which adapts and hovers over the ocean. The towers are oriented to protect themselves from the sun and have the ability to rotate, and their form protects them from hurricanes. The rest of the facility is meant to be fully self-sustainable.

NEW DESIRE CULINARY INSTITUTE
West Elevation - Scale: 1” = 100’ - 0”
Process Diagrams The New Desire Area is located in one of the
hurricane decimated regions of New Orleans. This area is in need of major revitalization, it also is adjacent to some of the great cooking found in the U.S. The culinary school is designed within a facility that is intended to help re-vitalize the area and give it a much needed corner stone to build from. The building can help shelter the community from future hurricanes and uses sustainable methods to fully sustain itself.

Wooden Louver Panel This triangular site is meant to serve as both a gateway to the area beyond it, and function as a public area. The buildings carved form is designed to allow pedestrian access into and through the site.
The interaction with
the building does not end at ground level, the wooden louvers are mechanical and can open and close, and move from side to side to block solar gain and maximize diffused light and air.

Graffiti Inspiration Due to the analysis done on the site a Museum glorifying graffiti and other mark making methods became the appropriate choice.
Placed in an abandoned rock
quarry it highlights the ancient graffiti found in it and uses the natural structure to maintain and protect the building. The building also creates a canvas for new work, using its form and details to create a further understanding of graffiti.
