Mexican “Day of the Dead” celebrations trace back to indigenous cultures. They preformed rituals celebrating the ancestors who have passed. This was the beginning of what we know today as “Day of the Dead”.




Some celebrators dress in skeleton costumes to represent loved ones who have died. Other celebrators dress in skeleton costumes to scare the souls of their deceased loved ones.




Altars are made to honor their loved one who has passed.




Common things found at an alter are: a photo of the one being remembered, items they were fond of, candles, flowers and gifts.
