Inclusion, Trust, Respect in Partnerships

Welcome to 2016 and to doing “stuff ” throughout the year. Over the last few months, we have all witnessed the pain and destruction from fires that have occurred all over WA and in Australia. While we can remain vigilant and responsible for our own actions, it is our emergency services and volunteers that come out each day to preserve life and property. Our thoughts and thanks go to you. There is some evidence, that despite wanting to be ‘invisible’, people are looking for recognition, acceptance and inclusion in their immediate localities. This is, in many cases, because the world is no longer a place to be explored and discovered. The ‘promise’ of being able to find something new can no longer be achieved, or has already been taken up by others. Despite this reality, people do still aspire to be better, to join with others, to be successful, and to be meaningful to themselves and to others. So what stops them and their organisations from being the best that they can be? Is it our political leaders and elected representatives, department bureaucrats, parents, friends, teachers, office bearers or ourselves? It could be all of these people and our institutions. What barriers are placed in the way, what resources are denied them and why? Is it a lack of education, of vision or imagination, maybe a narrow approach to the future, or maybe all of these human behaviours or just a lack of trust. The real issue for all of us and our community is the harm that is done to the effort, the confidence and the ideas that keep individuals and groups engaged in our communities and groups. At a time when the national and global economy is in a serious downturn, it is more important that we look at our own capacity and resources, within our own communities and people, this will be the challenge for all of us to remain happy and productive. So, to ensure a great 2016, consider forming productive partnerships, joining a group, lending a hand and participating in our local events and activities. Stay safe. THE JARRAHDALE VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE Captured by Tom Hoyer and pictured on the front cover are Alan

Cambage, Kane Dowsen, Brian Wall and Jeff Davis, who were off to fight a fire on Orton Road the other day. But this story is about the Mount Solas fires East and South of Jarrahdale over November and December. For weeks the Brigade members were at the forefront of a major fire around the Mount Solas area. After exhausting the entire Jarrahdale Brigade’s vehicle and human resources, as well as strong participation from all five SJ Brigades and helicopter support, they were finally relieved to have a well earned rest. This happened just before the Waroona-Yarloop and local fires brought them back out into the fire zones. The picture below is of two young men who responded to the call out immediately after their final exams and graduations. They could have easily joined their peers for an end of year party, but chose to ‘lend a hand’ instead. Well done, A top effort and much respect from all of us.

DON HOLLIS NOMINATION 2016

D

on Hollis, local businessman in the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire since 1994, has just been nominated for the Nifnex Influential 100 awards 2016.

Since Don launched the company as Don’s Water Supply in 1994 with one truck, the company has grown into a thriving business with three trucks, five employees and an on-site tank and pump hire service. Don was determined that the company becomes the premier water supplier offering drinking water supplies to both residential and commercial clients within the region. He remains committed to this vision, admired for its reputation of honesty, reliability and complete water quality assurance. Through that growth, the company – which became Water Force WA in 2015 – has always prided itself on excellent customer service and reliable expertise in water supply and containment solutions. Don started out as the main contractor to the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale for their road works, and due to increasing demand he responded by expanding the company to deliver scheme water to local residents. Over 21 years, Don and his team became and still remains a preferred supplier for Alcoa, the Department of Parks and Wildlife, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, and Water Corporation PRA in addition to its local Shire work. His dedication to establish long-standing relationships with every company he works with is a key reason why we continue to win repeat contracts with them. A commitment to community service sees Don donating quality scheme water to many of the Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Events and enjoys supporting the Community Resource Centre and other community outlets whenever he can. Above: Nominee Don Hollis

Don has been a member of the Serpentine Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade for many years and has held positions such as Captain, Lieutenant and has stood in as training officer when required within the Serpentine Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade. He employs local residents and many of them are members of the local Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade with him. Don donates over 50 hours of his tankers and employees time every year throughout the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire during the fire season making sure there are enough water tankers to re-supply the fire units on site.

FIRE BRIGADE TO SAVE TIME AND WATER

T

he Byford & Districts Community Bank® recently approved a grant for the Byford Volunteer Fire Brigade to purchase a thermal imaging camera. This camera will allow firefighters to pinpoint hotspots (fire burning below ground level) when dampening down. Hotspots can reignite a fire after the initial blaze has been extinguished and firefighters spend many hours and thousands of litres of water wetting down an area when mopping up. Fire Control Officer, Frank Rankin, advised that “by accurately locating hotspots and extinguishing them quickly we drastically reduce the amount of water needed to mop up. The time saved will free up the brigade to return home or, more often than not, respond to the next emergency. This camera can also locate people in smoke filled buildings allowing quicker rescue times and reducing the risk to the firefighters”. Community Bank Director, Peter Eva, said “The Bank sees this as a vital piece of equipment that will help our brigades save a lot of water, which is such a precious commodity, and hopefully give them more time with their families which is also a precious commodity.” The Byford brigade should soon have their new piece of equipment and will hopefully benefit from its use during the current fire season. A timely reminder. Is the home insurance you have the insurance you need? Let’s face it most of us only think about insurance after something goes wrong. With the bushfire season approaching, it’s timely to think about the protection of your home, contents or investment property. And knowing you’re biggest assets are properly covered is important. Many people underestimate how much insurance they actually need!

They simply renew their insurance policies each year without taking into consideration renovations, alterations, or new purchases. Keep in mind that Bendigo Home and Contents building policies will cover you automatically in the event of a total loss for an additional amount up to 10 per cent of the building sum insured for each of the following: • removal of debris • rebuilding fees • temporary accommodation

BIG tip. To give you the security of knowing your cover suits your needs, you can check the online calculator bendigobank.com.au/calculators or ask us for our Are You Fully Covered brochure and keep a copy of your own room-by-room inventory.

To review your insurance needs, obtain a quote or arrange cover to protect your home and lifestyle call 1300 557 155 or visit your nearest Bendigo Bank branch.

SERPENTINE JARRAHDALE COMMUNITY MEN'S SHED BACK TO WORK IN 2016 AFTER THE CHRISTMAS BREAK

I

t was back to work again this week for the Men at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Men's Shed. Last year the men managed to carry out quite a few worthwhile community projects, as well as several individual jobs by and for members themselves. Probably the most visible project last year was the community seats at the Mundijong War Memorial and the Poppy displays at Byford for the Anzac Day Ceremonies. Bench seats were also created for the Keysbrook Hall and the men have just completed more bench seats for the Byford Glades Residents Association.

Already projects are lined up to commence this year as the Men's Shed approaches it's second birthday in March. The number of men joining and attending the shed every week has increased as they set about refining their training and procedures. With a core group of shed leaders including Ray, Kim, Lindsay, Tom, Alan H, Graham, Alan P, Nino, Brian, Eileen and Bob, their biggest project has been trying to get the New Shed Development off the ground in Jarrahdale. Costings have been completed for the New Sheds, (Mens Shed and Heritage Society Storage Shed) as well as refurbishment of the Red Shed which will transform into a Heritage Museum showcasing Jarrahdale as well as the Shearing History of Western Australia. The Men's Shed committee have a Funding Request presentation to the Shire in February, upon which is hoped will be looked upon favourably by council so that in order to leverage up the funds and then get things started to create what will end up as a Showcase Heritage Precinct for Jarrahdale. The Men's Shed President, Brian Phillips, continues to make huge improvements following his devastating stroke last year. He even attended the Men's Shed facility last week to cast his watchful eye over the work taking place and catch up with his fellow shedders. He is a huge inspiration to all at the Shed. Keep up the good work Brian, the new facility at Jarrahdale was your vision, let’s hope we can make it come to fruition this year.

T

he Lions Club of Serpentine Jarrahdale wish to sincerely THANK their sponsors for their donations to the Christmas Raffle. All monies raised go back into the local Community or Lions organisations. The trailer & Christmas Stocking was won by Mr Ken Murphy of Mundijong, shown in the photo with Lions President Bent Hansen. All prizes were won by locals - so it certainly pays to support your local Lions Club. New members are always welcome and meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Thursdays in each month. The only meeting to be held in January will by on 21st January. This is due to the Australia Day holiday. Contribution of time is spent assisting the Club in many ways including sausage sizzles which are run at a rate of 4-6 per year and are normally held at either Bunnings or Masters in Armadale, together with the Jarrahdale Log Chop & SJ Lions Country Fair in October and the selling of Christmas Raffle tickets and Christmas cakes for the last two months of the year. Raffle tickets and cakes are generally sold on Fridays and Saturdays at local venues around the area of Serpentine Jarrahdale. For further information please call 9525 7575 or 9525 4087.

ORIGINS OF VALENTINE’S DAY: A PAGAN FESTIVAL IN FEBRUARY

hile some believe that Valentine’s Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine’s death or burial–which probably occurred around A.D. 270–others claim that the Christian church may have decided to place St. Valentine’s feast day in the middle of February in an effort to “Christianize” the pagan celebration of Lupercalia. Celebrated at the ides of February, or February 15, Lupercalia was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus.

MZI RESOURCES COMMUNITY SPIRIT CHRISTMAS PARTY

O

n the evening of Friday 12th December, the Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Resource Centre hosted the first ‘MZI Resources Community Christmas Party’. The event was very well received, especially after having to postpone it from the weekend before due to rain and storms. Over 300 people attended the party to enjoy the free children’s rides and entertainment. The kids especially enjoyed the dunking tank and bucking bull. Other entertainment included 2 jumping castles, electric go-karts, a ride-on dinosaur, giant games, face painting and live music. Santa and his elf made a visit and handed out treats. Shire Councillor Barry Urban took his turn on the dunk tank, and had a great time getting wet.

Quite a few stalls participated for people to get last minute gifts for Christmas. The SJ CRC held a sausage sizzle and hamburger stall for patrons to get a feed and a quiet little bar area for a Friday night wind-down. We're sure everyone that attended on the night had a great time and due to the popularity of the event we hope to hold it again next Christmas. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the following businesses that assisted with the last minute date change due to severe storms in the area.:

HOLIDAY FUN AT THE MUNDIJONG PUBLIC LIBRARY

W

ith a ship load of children and their parents Captain Jolly Jim the Pirate recently paid a visit to the Mundijong Public Library where he kept his young crew entertained with his pirate antics. Rover the invisible dog came along for a walk, as well as Michael the talking cockatoo. Michael had the kids (and adults) in stitches with laughter with his jokes and tricks. Ugly frog juggling was another antic that the Captain entertained with. Captain Jolly also had a pirate treasure chest, but the treasure was missing. With the help of a magic wand and one of the crew the treasure was returned. One of the treasures in the chest was treats for the children at the end of the show. The Mundijong Public Library always has events on for children over school holidays. Please visit the website for more information www.sjshire. wa.gov.au/ library or phone 9526 1133. 10TH LIGHT HORSE WAS THERE. THE GALLIPOLI PENINSULAR BY BARRY BAMFORD SEPT 2015

E

arly in August 2015 I travelled to Turkey to attend the ceremony held at Lone Pine to commemorate the centennial of the battles at Anzac on the 6th and 7th August 1915. But, I also had an ulterior motive. At 04:30 on the morning of 7th August 1915, two regiments of Light Horse, the 8th and 10th charged across a narrow piece of land known as ‘The Nek’ at the top of Walker’s Ridge, in an attempt join up with other allied forces supposedly converging on Ottoman positions along the ridgelines dominating the Anzac area. The result of those attacks by the Light Horsemen is well known. The assaults were repelled and both regiments suffered heavy casualties. This story has been part of my knowledge of the 10th Light Horse since I first gained an interest in the history of the Regiment in the mid 1960’s and, in the absence of any official actions to mark the 100th anniversary of this specific attack, I made a personal decision to be at The Nek at 04:30 on 7th August 2015, to conduct my own ceremony. The commemoration ceremony was a quite traditional ceremony with the mounting of a catafalque party, speeches and the laying of wreaths. At the start of the formal ceremony I donned my ancient black beret with a newly acquired plume and watched the ceremony, with a certain amount of sympathy for the school choir that sat in formal attire facing the sun. At the completion of the ceremony I walked around the venue for a while, took some photos and left the Lone Pine location.

brought all that I needed from Australia. This included a number of brown paper bags, small tea-light candles, matches and a torch. I’d filled the paper bags a quarter full with soil the night before and when I arrived at the memorial I placed four of these at the centre of the memorial, with tea-lights in the centre of each bag and then attempted to light the small candles. But the wind was too strong. As a compromise I placed the bags to the extreme left of the memorial in the lee of the wind. It took me a while, but by 4.30am, the time the attack started in 1915, I had four lights flickering in the wind. The fate of my paper lights was somewhat akin to the fate of the men who charged here that morning in 1915! One was consumed by the flickering flames almost immediately, another died sometime later, also consumed by the flames, the third light went out and the bag remained a hollow shell. The fourth flickered on for another four hours and went out only when the life of the candle was spent. I took a number of photos, including one of my black beret and plume in the middle of the memorial. 10th Light Horse was here! I sat on the memorial until well after dawn, recounting to myself the events that took place here and watching the growing light across the grey waters of the Aegean Sea stretching away towards Suvla Bay.

I was up at 3.30am the next morning, gathered my equipment and walked to the monument which was approximately 50 metres away. My intention was to create some sort of light source in the middle of the memorial and to do this I had

or many years, Rotary International and it's global network of cubs, have recognised the effort it takes to secure a peaceful and harmonious national and international future. Rotary peace scholars are funded to go to various centres of learning around the planet. These students then contribute to the general research and peace effort. As Australian ambassadors, and local volunteers, our Club of Byford & Districts makes its own contribution through its international project work and through the general participation, inclusion and tolerance we display in our ordinary activities. At a time of what seems to be an insurmountable era of global conflict and unrest, it will be the demonstration of our individual and combined efforts, as we travel or at home, to be generous, reasonable and tolerant in all of our dealings. JANUARY was Rotary’s: Vocational Service Month

The Second Avenue of Service, vocational service, has the purpose of promoting high ethical standards in businesses and professions. By recognizing the worthiness of all occupations, and fostering the ideal of service in the pursuit of all vocations, we make the place better. The role of members includes conducting themselves and their businesses in accordance with Rotary's principles, code of ethics and support, “helping, not hindering”. Our Club members reflect a range of skills and capacity which, when brought together allow us to exchange ideas, to learn from each other so that we can do the service work that we do.

COUNTDOWN TO THE FOOD AND FARM FEST nly 69 days until the 2016 Food and Farm Fest. On April 9th 2016, Beef Natural farm in Lightbody Road, Mardella opens it’s gates to the public yet O again. As well as continuing to provide high quality lean beef directly to the public, owner of Beef Natural, Gerald Bergsma has been preparing his land ahead of this year’s festival.

The Food and Farm Fest committee is busy signing up stall holders and securing entertainment and guest speakers for the day. Organising committee member, Merri Harris said the 2015 inaugural festival was a great learning platform for the committee. Now with experience under our belts, and weather on our side, we believe it will be bigger and better than last year. To reduce the chance of being blown away by excessive winds this year, we have moved the date forward to Saturday April 9th. The festival is an extension of the ever growing Serpentine Jarrahdale Food and Farm Alliance. The Alliance aims to raise awareness on health improvement through thoughtful consumption and preservation of plant and animal food products. Buying local fresh produce is the healthiest way to eat and the festival gives consumers the opportunity to connect with our local producers as well as learn more about growing their own vegetables and living sustainably. If you are a local producer or have a business that supports the aims of the festival and would like to secure a stall, go to the website www.foodandfarmfest.com.au for more information. If you are a consumer, mark April 9th 2016 in your calendar and look out for the signature blue banner and flyers closer to the day.

LIONS CLUB OF SERPENTINE JARRAHDALE CELEBRATE 40TH YEAR OF SERVICE IN THE LOCAL AREAS

he Lions Club of Serpentine Jarrahdale on Saturday 12th December celebrated forty years in operation with a luncheon at the Serpentine Tavern. The event was attended by present and past members – and an enjoyable time was had by all. A special moment of the get together was a presentation of the Melvin Jones fellowship plaque to Mrs Sandra Hansen who is the present treasurer of the club. The Melvin Jones fellowship is run to meet humanitarian needs in communities around the world. Some of these needs are preventing river blindness and restoring sight to individuals.

the Lions Club by either way of donations or buying the tickets so we can give back to the community. If you would like to know more about Lions or would like to join our friendly group – the meetings are 2nd & 4th Thursdays in the month or phone 9525 7575 or 9525 4087. There is only one meeting in January which will be the 21st – this is just before Australia day. We do help out with the sausage sizzle at this event.

Sandra has been treasurer for five years and in that time she has organised and successfully run the Jarrahdale Log Chop & Serpentine Jarrahdale Lions Country Fair. Sandra has also organised the gathering of donations towards the Christmas raffle. Money from both events goes back into the local community or lions foundations or organisations. This club donates back to the community in the region of $16,000 per year. Serpentine Jarrahdale Lions would also like to sincerely thank all sponsors who donated to the Christmas raffle of a trailer & Christmas stocking. (see full story on page 15). Without their support this event would not take place. So please continue to support

TONY’S TALK Happy New Year to you all. I hope that 2016 brings everyone much happiness and good health and that your new year’s resolutions are not completely forgotten. I was so impressed with the community spirit that I witnessed recently after the fires down south. Seeing so many people come together to donate their time and goods for people who have lost everything. My office was a donation point and seeing children come into the office to hand me their toys that they obviously loved, but were happy to give to a child who didn’t have anything, was truly humbling. Congratulations to everyone who participated in this throughout the shire. This is also a timely reminder to check our own properties to make sure that we all take responsibility for making sure our homes are as fire-ready as possible. Clear overhanging tree branches, clear up leaf litter and do what you can to remove any items that can help fuel a fire. If we all do our bit it might just help if we have a fire in our community. School will be returning soon and with that will be some nervous children (as well as parents) so please take extra care around the schools with new bikes being used and kids learning road rules. A few patient moments will be appreciated by everyone.

WA COWBOYS GOING TO THE DOGS! ALL IN THE NAME OF CHARITY Some of Western Australia’s real life cowboys are teaming up with some of Western Australia’s up and coming guide dog puppies to raise funds for Guide Dogs WA. The instigator behind this fundraiser is a cowboy whose six-year-old daughter was born blind. He knows first hand that it takes $30,000 to train just ONE guide dog puppy! His goal is to raise $15,000 to help another visually impaired person receive the companionship and services of a guide dog. Working closely with local Mundijong photographer Lanie Ambrock, twelve cowboys have become models to be showcased in a 2017 Calendar. And they weren’t shy in taking their shirts off! Each month will feature a cowboy and a guide dog pup in training. The guide dog puppy will start in January at 8 weeks old. As the year progresses, so does the age of the puppy. The calendars will be sold for $25 each with all proceeds going to Guide Dogs WA. To ensure this happens, the cowboys are seeking sponsorship of their individual month to cover publication costs of the calendar. Sponsorships start at $350 for a level one and go up to the major sponsor level of $2500. On Saturday May 14, the calendar will be launched at an event where all the cowboys will be on hand for autographs and photos, and the calendar will be seen in public for the first time! The cowboys are also seeking donations of goods and service items which can be auctioned or raffled off at the launch event to try and hit their $15,000 target. If you or your company are interested to get behind this great cause, then contact Lanie at ozcanpromotions@iinet.net.au for a sponsorship package to be sent out.

SERPENTINE GOLF CLUB

O

n the 28th November last the Serpentine Golf Club again held their Summer Ambrose event at the Club. This event is proudly sponsored by Rick Murphy’s Nagrom each year. Players from a number of surrounding Clubs, as well as a number of people who do not play regularly, participated in the event which commenced at 11am with a light luncheon consisting of rolls, chocolate bars, and soft drinks. The 120 people in teams of four commenced at midday with golfers dispersed across all tees on the course. The fun format enables each member of the team to hit each and every shot and only select the best of the four to continue with. This is repeated with each stroke until the ball is holed out. In two locations along the way participants were able to obtain a range of refreshments and snacks, including hot dogs and toasties, which enabled each to maintain their individual hydration and energy levels throughout the day. Each tent was manned by our excellent volunteers who also ran a mobile cart service around the course to ensure the players comfort. By 5pm all teams had completed the course and submitted their

team card to the Captain for his assessment and score rating. Once back in the Clubhouse many of the players recounted their best shots and worst disasters for the day, which usually became the source of much amusement for the other participants within earshot. The Captain, Warwick Lipscombe, later called the rabble to order and invited the President, Mr Scott Hambley, to say a few words. After the brief comments the Captain announced the winning teams and they were invited to select a trophy from the wide range of items on display which were acquired from Peter Arif ’s The Good Guys at Cockburn. The best performing ladies team were also awarded a trophy each. In addition, the team which managed to have the worst day were awarded the NAGA (Not a Golfers A) prize for the day. After the presentations the players were invited to enjoy a self cooked barbeque supported by a range of sumptuous salads and breads to suit all tastes. It seems that all who attended enjoyed themselves, some had some good stories to tell, and some had some prizes to take home and brag about, or even score a point or two with their partners! It is recommended that you keep both the WA Day Ambrose in June and the Summer Ambrose in November firmly fixed on your calendar so that you too can come along and enjoy the fun and camaraderie at the Serpentine Golf Club.

WARM WEATHER AND YOUR PET PART II As promised in the last edition we’re following up with some information on the warm weather and your pet; how to keep them safe & how you can make summer more enjoyable for all! Let’s start with some hints and tips for the hot weather - some obvious, and some less so! • Walk your dog early in the morning or in the cool of the evening (it really is nice early morning once you are the habit; it’s a great way to start the day!) • Avoid walking them on hot surfaces; remember you are wearing shoes! Use the back of your hand to test surfaces before walking your dog across them. • Invest in a cooling mat or cooling neck band; I’m not a fan of the cooling jacket unless you are with your dog at all times. The cooling mats made for dogs are very safe. I have used cooling neckbands for myself and use one on my dog for walks and training. • Invest in a wading pool such as a clam shell or dog pool. For puppies use under supervision and only partially fill the clam shell for puppies and dogs so it is safe. Beware if you have young children. • Dogs will often cool off by dipping their feet in water; think about ways your dog may be able to cool off that way. • Invest in a spray bottle to cool your dog off in the summer. Don’t use a spray bottle for punishment; this is not a very good way to correct your dog’s behaviour. The spray bottle should be a pleasant experience. • An Australian bush flower essence call Solaris (ausflowers. com.au) is very good for the effects of heat. Suitable to add to the water of humans and animals. • Make up some iceblocks for your dogs wading pool, or water bowl. • You may also make up a big iceblock in an ice-cream container; use some low salt broth or soak some bikkies in water then add a few soft treats and freeze. You can leave in the container or place outside on the grass for a treat. • If you travel a lot with your dog invest in a cooling mat and also a portable fan cooler. You can get rechargeable fan at hardware stores (such as a ryobi fan that is chargeable with a drill battery). The fans have a safety cover on them to cover the blades. • Bring your dog indoors as much as possible when it is hot. Give them a cool place to lay, some toys and something to chew on. Don’t leave them locked out in the heat unless they have adequate facilities to keep cool. • Allow your dog extra water during summer and have a few

water stations around; make sure they stay shaded so the water doesn’t get hot during the day. With the warmer weather well and truly here hyperthermia (heat stroke) is a danger to your pet. Please ensure your dog or cat is not accidently locked inside a shed or car or stuck in the sun. The temperatures can kill or cause permanent damage very quickly. Also be aware that exercising when it’s hot can lead to heatstroke especially if you have a dog which is running around or chasing a ball. The early signs of heatstroke are excessive panting and mild stress. This can then lead on to difficulty breathing and collapse. You may also see excessive salivation & fits (however this can also be a sign of ot her things such as poisoning). If your pet has been exposed to hot temperatures and is showing signs of distress you must remove them from the source of the heat immediately. You may then start to cool them by hosing them with running water or place wet towels on their body. Phone your vet for immediate advice. If you suspect hyperthermia do not try to cool them down too quickly or drastically without discussing with your vet first. If you ever have an emergency with your pet make sure you phone the vet first; if they are not at the clinic you may waste valuable time if you just jump in the car & drive down. Also if the vet knows you are coming in with an urgent case they can prepare for your arrival. LETS ALL PARTY HIRE Letsallparty was established in the Serpentine Jarrahdale area in 2009. Being SJ residents since 2000, over the years we watched with delight as the area grew into a thriving business and social community with a real need to balance the pressures of day to day working life with the need to enjoy family life and have fun. We decided in 2009 that the time was right to set up a new party events business that really did care about the local community. So after careful consideration, we purchased our first two digital video jukeboxes, some disco lights and two frozen slushy machines. Every year we have added more items to our stock and the demand for our services has grown. We are now proud to say that we have a wide variety of party items including a photo booth, dunk tank, mechanical bull, bouncy castles, tables and chairs, LED furniture, cocktail tables, stools, popcorn making machines, fairy floss machines, and recent in the years we have seen the arrival of our very popular and unique walking dinosaurs which we recently showcased on the TV show THE COUCH. Letsallparty also has a mobile cool room, inflatable cinema screens, wine barrels and the latest illuminated spin bumper cars which were introduced in December last year. Our most recent addition is our fabulous eight seater stretch limousine, which is available for hire for any party events or special occasions Letsallparty is fully insured and in many cases the hire includes personal supervision by one of our own staff members. We base our continued growth on our genuine interest in people and the wellbeing of our local community and we recently supported the casualty families of the latest fires in and around Perth by taking essential supplies direct to people in real need in our fleet of Letsallparty vehicles. We pride ourselves on SUCCESS THROUGH CARING and we wish you all a Happy and Fun New Year To find out more about Letsallparty check out www.letsallparty.com.au and download our latest brochure

Waiting for someday to preplan your funeral may be a big mistake. Last time we checked, there is no someday on the calendar.
