“Lord Jesus, look at these children, bless them and protect them. They are the victims of the arrogance of the adults,” Pope Francis prayed with a group of Italian children at St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican City last March 16, 2022.Pope Francis prayed for the thousands of children in Ukraine as they are “living under the bombs, have nothing to eat, are forced to flee their homes, leaving everything behind.”Referring to the ones responsible with the ongoing war, the pope reminded the adults to save the children from the bombs.

“It is very important for young people and children to talk to their grandparents,” the Pope said.

Many different leaders have governed the Philippines in the past decades. Many intelligent people have ruled this country, from barangay officials, chairman, governor, mayor, and senators up to the highest position, which is the president of this country. We ordinary citizens are easily persuaded by politicians who want power and promise to benefit the masses, especially the poor. Most politicians can easily throw contracts but can’t make it happen, so we people should research their credentials and projects. therankedconsistentlyhasPhilippinesbeenasoneofmostcorruptcountriesinAsia.Asaresult,therichpeoplebecomemoreprosperousandpoorpeoplebecomepoorer.

Some people decline the truth because they are always fed by lies, disinformation, and fake news. Their pride becomes high that they don’t want to believe the truth; even if it’s in front of them, they still don’t want to consider it. Tell them the importance of researching. We should continually educate these kinds of people and never give up on educating them as this is not only for them but also for us, as their vote can affect our future.

Teen students’ physical and mental growth are considered in drawing the curriculum starting from Grade 5 to 12. This shows that the Department of Education keeps in mind students’ transition from being a kid to adolescence. With this, schools are teaching the student and guiding them on understanding and handling these changes. Considering and anticipating what they need to know, there are limits to society’s acceptance.Whilelearning about science’s physical and mental growth, teens now know what to do about what is happening and won’t panic whenever something bad happens. For example, Learning about the puberty-related health myths like ‘No physical activities while on e ’made me realize that what I’ve been told was false. And in puberty-related health issues like mood swings or bad posture, I would know what to do or learn how to explain why such things happen.

To sum up, teens should apply what they have learned in school to deal with this physical and mental growth and how to take good care of themselves. Discuss with their parents in every stage of development to validate what they have learned in school. Schools should instill in everything that physical and mental growth is part of the transition from being a kid to an adult and should not be afraid of these changes; instead, appreciate and accept maturity.

I want to ask you, what are your plans for our country? Does your project include alleviating poverty, improving the educational system and the situation of health workers? How will you fix the broken system in our government? Here are just simple questions I would like you to answer.

She taught us ladylike etiquette as it helps us be thoughtful about our conduct and to be aware of the rights and feelings of others. Since then, I have had reflections on how I approach puberty life.

I see people every day in the streets, knocking in our cars, asking for donations on the Internet. I would like you to do something about it. If you have any plans for this, please tell people about this. I hope you can do something to change our country and the plight of the people.

Thus, this is a commendable step as we aim for the protection of children against abuse and sexual exploitation.

First, Research the news topic, check if others are also talking about it and look at how different each point of view is. Also, check the sources of the article. An essay might seem official sounding, but you will know if it’s worth believing when you look closely. Third, see the difference between opinion and fact. If the author puts their own opinions and makes them sound true, that’s a way of misguiding. These are supposed to be news and not persuasive essays. Then, try making sense of the information. What is the point of what the author published? Is it too weird or too good to be true? Whatever it is, you might be right. Lastly, look for credentials. Is the author working in the field they are concerned?Fakenews should be avoided and handled with. Most people are fighting to show light to the truth at present. Be safe, and look out for potentially devastating “news”.

Vaccinations are necessary to ensure that we are protected from the virus and the people around us. We should not be afraid of having the vaccines as they can help achieve herd immunity in our community. Although restrictions have been eased and people can already go to different places. We should still be aware of the safety protocols like wearing masks, spraying alcohol and keeping ourselves clean.

How can we avoid mindlessly believing in this misleading information? After we find out the reasons to do so, it’s better to start dodging the lies they throw. Then, we can do something about it.

According to Westminster Abbey, the term ‘Confessor’ applies to those who have suffered for their faith but who were not martyred. The ring he was holding refers to a narrative when Edward was riding by a church in Essex and an old man asked for alms. As the king had no money to give, he drew a large ring off his finger and gave this to the beggar. Pictures of Saint Edward show the new icon of St Edward, made of egg tempera on a lime board and framed in oak.

Father Alain Manalo, our school chaplain, shared the history of the miraculous Our Lady of Solitude of Porta Vaga or the Nuestra Señora de Soledad de Porta Vaga. Also known as the “Reina de Cavite,” the historical patroness of the port of Cavite and eventually the entire province of Cavite, the icon of the Soledad was discovered at sea by the workers of the Cavite Navy Yard in 1667. This was after a reported apparition to a soldier guarding the new gate or the “puertang bago” of the port of Cavite of a lady at sea, believed to be the Virgin Mary, garbed in mourning dress similar to the one depicted in the icon. It has since become an object of devotion in the whole province with many miracles, personal and communal, attributed to her intercession.

We, Catholics, have saints to look up to as God’s intermediaries. We pray to them for miracles, inspiration, comfort, and protection. In the Philippines, as a Catholic country, they have become part of our identity. We ask them to pray to God on their behalf. Christian Living subject reminds us that this is a form of intercession. Their images help us to focus our hearts and minds as we aim to connect with God. The Estoile features a story of miracle, celebration, and remembering of the journey of the saints and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Revisiting Jesus’ Journey of Love and Commitment

It was my first time doing the Way of the Cross, and I must say it was a humbling experience. We first took the guided private tour to reach the stations on the hilly side of the theme park and then decided to go on our own on the less challenging trails. I experienced walking, stopping by stations of the cross, and praying under the sun’s scorching heat. For each time that I tried complaining, my mom patiently reminded me of the real meaning of Lent. I realized that my concerns were incomparable to what Jesus Christ had to go through to prove His love and commitment to us. I found this religious tradition both mystical and fascinating. I felt like I was taken back to witness Christ’s life, miracles, and suffering leading up to His Crucifixion on Good Friday, His Resurrection on Easter Sunday, and finally, His Ascension to Heaven. The experience helped develop in me a deeper and more personal connection to this Lenten tradition. I also understood the real meaning of Christ’s selfless act of giving us eternal salvation. Jesus’ death on the cross was not the end but just the beginning of His mission to initiate spiritual growth among us. Our sins are continuously forgiven through His death, and our relationship with God, our Father, is restored each time we seek forgiveness.

But, of course, the highlight of this religious theme park is the trail for the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary and Way of the Cross, which feature artistically crafted life-size figures to portray the Biblical scenes.

Last Lenten season, my family had a chance to visit Holy Land Subic Sanctuary and Biblical Theme Park. It’s a well-known pilgrimage site for religious activities such as retreats, recollections, private prayers, and personal devotions at least three hours away from Metro Manila. We went there on Holy Monday to avoid the crowd, and according to our tour guide, they were expecting a large volume of visitors starting Holy Wednesday. Therefore, a unique schedule of activities was lined up for the Holy Week like the Blessing of Palms, Holy Mass, group guided and private Way of the Cross, Visita Iglesia, healing prayers, and the Easter Sunday

or faithful believers, the Lenten season is a time of reflection and repentance. The Way of the Cross, otherwise known as “Stations of the Cross,” “Way of Sorrows,” or “Via Crucis” in Latin, is a religious tradition done during Lent. Most Catholics and Christians go on a spiritual journey during the Holy Week to remember Jesus’ last moments of public life. The 14 stations present a series of chronologically arranged images that represent the passion and death of Christ. It involves walking, stopping at each station, and praying. This religious practice is the closest thing we get to being able to see, feel, and experience Jesus Christ’s sufferings and the insults He endured out of His love for us.

AlthoughMass.a large part of the 15-hectare stretch of land is yet to be developed, Holy Land doesn’t disappoint when providing pilgrims with a peaceful place for prayers, meditation, and devotions. Visitors are greeted at the entrance by the impressive replica of the “Lion’s Gate.” There’s a chapel where one can quietly pray and attend the Holy Mass. The Pilgrims’ Prayer Wall and Prayer Wall of Saints are hard to miss. One can slip papers of written prayer petitions in between the crevices. Some cottages can accommodate people who wish to enjoy a restful stay in the area, whether for retreat, recollection, or just a simple vacation. I particularly like the “Mother Mary House of Prayer and Museum”, which

If given another chance, I would still gladly do the Way of the Cross next Lenten season. It doesn’t only feel spiritually energizing but is also a great reminder of Jesus Christ’s love and commitment to us.

Although the first menu was very simply prepared, it provided the growing children with an important source of nourishment that not all of them could receive at home. It started as a way to give free lunches to the poor elementary school children in Tsuruoka City. I was delighted by the presentation of our newfound Japanese friends about the use of chopsticks and their intricate preparations for food and snacks. But I enjoyed the discussion upon learning that Japanese students have free food from the school through Japanese School Lunch. HEALTHY SCREEN TIME, HABITS

In an interview last September 04, 2021 via Zoom, Dr. Ma. Regina Paula Valencia, a consultant ophthalmologist at the Rizal Medical Center and The Medical City – Pasig, explained that too much screen time leads to negative effects such as developing nearsightedness, eye strain or fatigue, and dryness of the eyes.

Moreover, the ophthalmologist promotes the “20-20-20 rule” as advised by the Philippine Academy of Ophthalmology. For every 20-minute screen time, there should be a 20-second break looking at an object that is 20 feet far. This rule, according to Dr. Valencia, breaks the habit of staring at a computer or gadget screen for a long time.

Considering the screen time guidelines by age as recommended by the Department of Education, Dr. Valencia encouraged parents and teachers to provide maximum of one hour screen time for Kindergarten students; one and a half hours for first to fifth graders; two hours for sixth to eighth graders; and four hours (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon) for ninth to 12th graders.

“What’sinstead.”moreimportant is the 20–20–20 rule,” she added.

Moreover, Dr. Valencia explained that having dry eyes is caused by focusing too much on the computer or gadget screen making the “normal blink rate decreased.” Blinking, according to her, is important “for lubrication and to spread the tears on the surface of the eyes.”

I would encourage my schoolmates to pray with their families through novena as it will strengthen our faith and learn to depend on God as a family. As we come closer to God, we are also becoming closer with one another as we lift our hearts of prayers. And I hope that even after this pandemic, we will continue to pray through novena as a family.

Reflection on 9-Day Novena Prayer to St. Edward

O Lord, put a halt to the violence! Stop us, O Amen.Lord!

We pray to God every day for the excellent health of our whole family and the rest of our loved ones, especially in this time of pandemic when all our health is at risk. We also pray for unity and love to overflow in our household, for the blessings, and abundance in every good thing.

And when you have held back the hand of Cain, care also for him. He is our brother.

Stop us, O Lord, stop us!

Lord, thank you for this day that you have given us. Thank you for keeping us safe from harm. We continue to pray for the protection of our family. We pray for our teachers to guide and teach us well, and we pray for all students to be mentally and physically well as we continue our academic journey. Lead us to you, oh Lord. In your name and through Our Mother of Perpetual Help, we pray, Amen.
