Transforming a Dream into a Reality

Transforming a Dream into a Reality While many may feel that things like owning their own home, having affordable health care insurance, or just having their dream job are all out of their reach, there some that take control of their lives and make things happen. How do they do it so effectively while the vast majorities fail? In looking at this challenge it is important to look at what the source of some of these failures are and that is in the mindset of the individual. If an individual believes he will fail or categorizes himself as a certain type of person with limits then therein lies the problem. We create our own prisons and our bars are actually our doubts which have been solidified by the opinions of others over time. We push ourselves deeper and deeper in our dungeon with self-pity, complaints, and blaming others for our problems. Is it true to say that all problems are mental then? Definitely not but it is true that attract more problems and pain by our mindset then by any other way. By keeping these things in mind some of the challenges we face could possibly turn into opportunities for growth and development. How do we switch over to this successful way of viewing life though?

Removing Mental Barriers First— Take a step back and gain some perspective. It is only by looking at things from a few different, positive views that we can solidify a positive mindset. Second— Change the way you speak about others and yourself. If you are constantly comparing yourself to others then you will mimic their dreams and pass your own. It isn’t a competition and you have to believe that from the beginning. Third—You have to be able to trust others with your dreams at times. The hard truth is that you can’t do everything by yourself no matter how hard you try. Why fight the people who want to help you the most? Friends are your biggest asset in reaching your dreams and goals.

Fourth—Set your course by creating a realistic plan of action. When we say realistic we mean that is should be something that you love and can actually see yourself doing. Fifth—Make sure that it is something that you are passionate about it and that it won’t be a passing fancy. This is the difference between a dream and just a far-fetched notion. Sixth—Don’t get sidetracked! There are a hundred different paths that can get you to your dream but if you choose one that is taking you in the opposite direction then you should stop and reorient yourself. This is where most people get stuck because it is easy to feel secure in a position. Many people give up their dreams for security and safety but never achieve the happiness they were looking for from their dreams. Seventh—Always take time to let others live their dreams. Sometimes we can realize our dreams through our friends and family. How much happier will we be if we can relish in others dreams as well? We shouldn’t belittle people for their dreams even if it is something as simple as affordable health care insurance. Every dream has its place in the world and it makes it all so much better in the end. Photo Credit: blmiers2, lululemon athletica, John Martinez Pavliga
