efore I even graduate I have a job waiting for me at Standard & Poor’s and I owe it all to Seton Hall. Its reputation and connections have opened so many doors. I’ve had six internships; received mentorship from executives at Deloitte, Dow Jones and J.D. Power; gone on three study abroad programs to Spain, Greece and Portugal; conducted research with a faculty member; and worked in our market research center. The support and opportunities I received far exceeded my expectations.” Kristine Mamanta Marketing and Economics majors Humble, Texas www.shu.edu/go/leaders

I

couldn’t have gotten my Fulbright award, studied abroad in Russia and China, or had internships with the Clinton Foundation, the Mexican Consulate or at Cybertech Corp. in Taiwan without the support of Seton Hall’s faculty. The school is so well connected that they can really give you great opportunities.” David Kelly Diplomacy and International Relations and Modern Languages majors West Chester, Pennsylvania

Academic Excellence Through our more than 90 exceptional academic programs, highly ranked by The Princeton Review, U.S.News & World Report and Bloomberg Businessweek, Seton Hall offers all the advantages of a large research university — a national reputation; challenging academic programs; notable alumni; state-of-the-art facilities; renowned faculty; and extensive opportunities for internships, research and scholarship — with all the benefits of a small, supportive and nurturing environment. You’ll learn directly from our distinguished faculty of researchers, authors, artists, industry leaders, former ambassadors, analysts and Fulbright Scholars.

I

have had so many opportunities at Seton Hall that I wouldn’t have had at a larger school, such as doing research with Dr. Ko freshman year, shadowing a cardiologist and being one of only two undergrads in the nation selected for a highly competitive research position at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The support is amazing and everyone really cares about me and my success.”

I

t may be cliché to say, but it is all about location. Seton Hall’s proximity to New York City is one of the University’s best resources. I can hop on the train and be in NYC in just a few minutes. Our location, reputation and connections, as well as the support I received have given me so many opportunities. I have had two internships in New York City — ‘The Daily Show’ and ‘Piers Morgan Tonight’ on CNN. Now, a few weeks before I graduate, I have a job at CNN.” Paul Murphy Diplomacy and International Relations major Tallahassee, Florida www.shu.edu/go/leaders

Internship and Career Opportunities Seton Hall offers more than 17,000 internship opportunities, and more than 81 percent of our students have an internship — or two — on their resume before graduation. This is just one of the reasons our students have an employment rate almost 20 percent higher than the national average and mid-career earnings 50 percent higher than the national average. Through the dedication and mentorship of our 12-member career counseling staff, we begin working with you freshman year, identifying the best careers for you, providing workshops, developing your resume, and helping you network. Our alumni also come back to recruit our students. Seton Hall students network with hundreds of prominent alumni who provide mentorship, guidance, and internship and job placement opportunities. Our national reputation and stellar academic programs draw more than 500 employers to campus each year just to recruit our graduates and 98 percent of our internship providers say they would hire our students if there were an opening.

I

n high school it was my dream to intern for the NY Mets and IMG. At Seton Hall, I was able to realize my dream and I have now interned at both of these prestigious organizations, along with two other internships at Bella Public Relations and Madison Square Garden. I wouldn’t have gotten these internships if it weren’t for Seton Hall’s Career Center. My career mentor was so supportive, helping me build my resume and hone my interview skills. She helped me stand out as a candidate and really cared about my success, so much so that she even called me right before my interview with IMG to make sure I was prepared and calm. I couldn’t have asked for more.” Anna Negron Sport Management major Vineland, New Jersey www.shu.edu/go/leaders

S

eton Hall’s career center paired me up with a corporate mentor, the executive vice president for integrated marketing at Viacom, which was a great experience and even led to an internship with Viacom. In addition, I had two other amazing internships in New York City: one at Burson-Marsteller, one of the largest international PR firms in the world, and the other at 5W Public Relations, one of the largest and most up and coming PR firms in Manhattan. I truly feel I wouldn’t have had even half of these experiences if I didn’t go to Seton Hall.”

Bring learning to life by: • Participating in study abroad opportunities. • Leading a community service project. • Broadcasting at WSOU, our nationally ranked radio station. • Conducting cutting-edge research with faculty as part of a National Institutes of Health grant. • Writing for The Setonian, our award-winning newspaper. • Practicing patient-care skills in one of the nation’s leading hospitals. • Spending a semester in Washington, D.C. • Sitting in on U.N. General Assembly meetings. • Running a classroom based on your very own lesson plan. • Visiting Wall Street. • Hearing from CEOs and industry regulators.

eton Hall gave me the opportunity to learn hands-on.

As a journalist, you can only learn so much in the classroom; you really have to get out there and perform. I was able to start broadcasting on campus with WSOU and writing major stories for The Setonian, which were picked up by national news outlets like The Star-Ledger. These experiences, along with Seton Hall’s alumni network and my internship at NBC Nightly News prepared me for the real world. Now, I work as a graphics producer at MSNBC. I couldn’t have done it without the strong foundation I received at Seton Hall.” Brian Wisowaty Public Relations and Journalism major Graphics Producer, MSNBC www.shu.edu/go/leaders

eton Hall’s nursing program is unlike any other, taking learning from textbook to real-world clinical experiences at some of the top hospitals in the area. As a result of my clinical rotation at Somerset Medical Center, I was awarded a very competitive clinical externship, which provides me with a paid position now and a guaranteed job at the hospital when I graduate. I owe so much to the nursing program at Seton Hall because of its strong reputation, the caring and accomplished faculty and, most importantly, the small classes that provide much needed one-on-one attention that’s often lost at larger universities.” Jordan Mabalatan Nursing and Catholic Studies majors Bloomfield, New Jersey www.shu.edu/go/leaders
