MOBILE, ALA. – Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) fired a 1-under-par, 70, in Tuesday’s final round to lift the Seton Hall men’s golf team to a strong finish at the Hal Williams Collegiate.

Xie had four birdies and 11 pars in round three and completed the tournament as the top Pirate competitor. For the three-round event, he tied for 22nd among 84 individual golfers with a 1-under-par, 73-69-70-212. Arkansas’ Mateo Fernandez De Oliveira won the individual title at a remarkable 15-under-par.

It’s Xie’s seventh career sub-par tournament, which ties him for seventh-most in program history. Furthermore, adding two more sub-par rounds to his career total gives him 26, which ranks fourth-most in Pirate history.

As a team, The Hall shot a 4-over-par, 284, on Tuesday after completing the few remaining holes of the second round. The Pirates finished the second round with a 3-over-par, 287. For the tournament, Seton Hall placed 15th in a highly-talented field with a 19-over-par, 296-287-288-871. Fifth-ranked Illinois won the team title at 36-under-par.

Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) finished his tournament only one stroke behind Xie. The junior shot a 1-over-par, 72, on Tuesday thanks to three birdies and 11 pars. For the tournament, Sun tied for 25th place with an even-par, 72-69-72-213.

After back-to-back 75’s, sophomore George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) turned in his top round of the spring, using three birdies and 12 pars to fuel an even-par, 71. For the three-round event, he tied for 68th with an 8-over-par, 75-75-71-221.

Freshman David Lally (Wickow, Ireland) turned in a 4-over-par, 75, in Tuesday’s round three. For the tournament, he was 12-over-par with a 76-74-75-225.

Rounding out the Pirates’ lineup, sophomore Angus O’Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) finished the spring’s first tournament with a 23-over-par, 79-77-80-236.

GOODYEAR, ARIZ. – Sophomore George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) shot his second-consecutive sub-par round to fuel the Seton Hall men’s golf team on the final day of the Loyola Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Fricker had six birdies and eight pars in route to a 1-under-par, 71, on Tuesday. He was the top Pirate golfer for the tournament as well, tying for 45th place among 108 individual golfers with a 2-over-par, 78-69-71-218. Drake’s Lucas Scherf won the individual title at 12-under-par.

As a team, the Pirates shot a 3-over-par, 291, on Tuesday. For the three-day event, The Hall placed 16th with a 12-over-par, 301-284-291-876. Utah Valley won the team title at 21-under-par. Fellow BIG EAST competitor, Marquette, finished one stroke behind for second place at 20-under-par. St. John’s, a third BIG EAST school, finished two strokes behind the Pirates at 14-over-par.

Angus O’Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) had four birdies on his way to a 2-over-par, 74, on Tuesday. For the tournament, the sophomore tied for 51st with a 3-over-par, 75-70-74-219.

Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) struggled early, but was even-par over his final 11 holes on Tuesday. He finished with a 4-over-par, 76. For the tournament, he tied for 55th with a 4-over-par, 73-71-76-220.

Junior Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) had six birdies and eight pars, but a rough No. 9 hole prevented him from a spectacular round. In the end, he was even-par for round three. For the three-round event, Sun shot an 11-over-par, 75-80-72-227.

Freshman David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) rounded out the Pirates’ scoring for the tournament. He had three birdies and 10 pars on Tuesday for a 2-over-par, 74. For the event, he was 13-over-par with an 81-74-74-229.

BANDON, ORE. – Despite cold and windy conditions, junior Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) shot a 1-under-par, 71, on Tuesday to lift the Seton Hall men’s golf team to a 11th place team finish at the Bandon Dunes Championship.

Sun had five birdies and nine pars on a fantastic final round to lead the Pirates. For the tournament, he tied for 16th place among 112 individual golfers with a 3-over-par, 76-71-147. Today’s effort is Sun’s seventh sub-par round of the year and the 12th of his career. Oregon’s Owen Avrit won the individual title at 4-under-par.

As a team, The Hall shaved 12 strokes off its first-round score to finish with a 6-over-par, 294. For the tournament, they placed 11th with a 24-over-par, 306-294-600. No. 28 Oregon won the team title at 5-over-par.

Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) had three birdies and 12 pars in the final round to fuel an even-over-par, 72. For the tournament, he tied for 23rd and finished just one stroke behind Sun with a 4-over-par, 76-72-148.

Sophomore Joshua Lee (Lantana, Texas) had four birdies and nine pars on his way to a 1-over-par, 73, on Tuesday, which ties a career-best. For the tournament, he tied for 40th place with a career-best 7-over-par, 78-73-151.

Freshman David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) finished his tournament with a 6-over-par, 78. For the two-round event, he was 10-over-par with a 76-78-154.

Rounding out the Pirates’ lineup, sophomore Angus O’Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) shaved six strokes off his first-round score to settle with a 5-over-par, 79, on Tuesday. For the tournament, he was 20-over-par with an 85-79-164.

Competing as an individual, sophomore George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) had a strong finish to his tournament using three birdies and 13 pars to card a 1-under-par, 71. For the tournament, he tied for 23rd place with a 4-over-par, 77-71-148.

SETON HALL SCORECARD

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) fired a 4-under-par, 67, in Sunday’s final round to lift the Seton Hall men’s golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Princeton Invitational.

Xie’s round was one of the best all season for any Pirate as he was flawless for 18 holes. He had four birdies and 14 pars in route to his best round of the year. For the tournament, Xie shot 28 spots up the leader board on the final day to tie for 18th place with an even-par, 78-68-67-213.

As a team, The Hall rounded out the Princeton Invitational with a 4-over-par, 288, in round three. The Pirates placed fifth with an even-par, 284-280-288-852, for the tournament. Harvard won the team title at 15-under-par. Seton Hall’s lone BIG EAST competition, Georgetown, finished at 12-over-par.

The top individual Seton Hall performer for the tournament was George Fricker (Woodbridge, England). The sophomore finished up an impressive three rounds with a 4-over-par, 75, in round three. For the event, he tied for 10th with a 3-under-par, 67-68-75-210. Harvard’s Brian Ma won the individual title at 9-under-par.

Fricker’s 3-under-par matches a career-low. It’s his third career sub-par tournament and third top-10 finish.

Only one stroke behind Xie and Lally finished junior Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.). In round three, he had four birdies in route to a 2-over-par, 73. For the tournament, Sun tied for 25th with a 1-over-par, 72-69-73-214.

Sophomore Angus O’Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) turned in his best round of the tournament on Sunday, a 2-over-par, 73. For the tournament, he was 9-over-par with a 74-75-73-222.

One stroke behind O’Brien was sophomore Joshua Lee (Lantana, Texas). Lee’s third-round highlight was an eagle on the par-5, No. 12 hole, which fueled him to a 4-over-par, 75. For the event, he was 10-over-par with a 71-77-75-223.

Competing as an individual, freshman David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) capped off his career-best tournament with an impressive 1-under-par, 70, in round three. He had three birdies and 13 pars in his final round. For the tournament, Lally tied for 18th with an even-par, 68-75-70-213.

HAMILTON, N.Y. – Junior Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) fired a career-best 11-under-par to win the Alex Lagowitz Memorial and lift the Seton Hall men’s golf team to the team championship on Sunday.

Sun put together his third consecutive sub-par round, using eight birdies to fuel a 2-under-par, 70, in Sunday’s final round. For the tournament, he shot an 11-under-par, 67-68-60-205, to win the individual title by five strokes over the second-place finisher, Villanova’s Ryan Palmer.

Sun’s 205 is tied for the second-lowest par-72, three-round score in program history. Furthermore, his 11-under-par is tied for the most strokes under par ever for a Pirate. It’s Sun’s first career win and second career top-5 finish.

Collectively, The Hall fired a 4-under-par, 284, on Sunday to complete one of the greatest tournaments in program history. The Pirates shot a 23-under-par, 277-280-284841, to win the team title by 12 strokes over second-place Yale. Seton Hall’s lone BIG EAST competition, Villanova, finished a distant 8-over-par.

The Hall’s 841 is the second-lowest par-72, three-round score in Seton Hall history. It’s 23-under-par, is also second-best. Both marks fall short of records by only a single stroke.

It’s Seton Hall’s fifth tournament victory in the last calendar year and the first since winning its first BIG EAST Championship in 22 years four months ago.

Senior Wenliang Xie (Xhaoqing, China) put the finishing touches on another spectacular tournament as well on Sunday. Xie used six birdies to power a 1-under-par, 71. For the tournament, he tied for third, with a 5-under-par, 71-69-71-211. It’s Xie’s sixth career sub-par tournament, which ties his for sixth-most in Pirate history. It’s also his fourth career top-5 finish.

ENFIELD, N.H. – Junior Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) fired a 3-under-par, 69, on Sunday to lift the Seton Hall men’s golf team to a second-place finish at the Dartmouth Invitational.

Sun had a dazzling final round, using six birdies and 10 pars to race up the individual leaderboard. Sun finished the two-day event tied for sixth with a 1-over-par, 76-69-145. It’s his fourth career top-10 finish and his second straight to begin the fall season.

Sun, however, wasn’t the top Pirate for the tournament. That honor belongs to sophomore George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) who wrapped up his second tournament as a Pirate with a 2-under-par, 70, on Sunday. Fricker had five birdies and 10 pars in round three. For the tournament, he tied for second among 61 individual golfers with a 3-under-par, 71-70-141.

Saint Joseph’s J.T. Spina won the individual title, finishing just one stroke ahead of Fricker.

As a team, The Hall shaved 18 strokes off its first-round score to finish with a 1-under-par, 287, on Sunday. Despite the stout performance, Siena was able to hold off the Pirates for the team title. The Hall finished the two-day event with a 16-over-par, 305-287-592.

The Hall has now started the fall season with a victory at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial and a runner-up at the Dartmouth Invitational.

Sophomore Angus O’Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) shaved seven strokes off his first-round score on Sunday. He had a birdie on No. 8 and an eagle on the par-5, No. 11 hole. For the tournament, he placed 18th with a 9-over-par, 80-73-153.

Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) was another Pirate to eagle hole No. 11 on Sunday. He shaved five strokes off his first-round score to finish with a 3-over-par, 75. For the tournament, he tied for 22nd with an 11-over-par, 80-75-155.

Junior Brody Hanley (Lantana, Texas) rounded out the Pirates’ lineup on Sunday with an 8-overpar, 80. For the two-day event, he tied for 32nd with a 14-over-par, 78-80-158.

HAMPDEN, MASS. – Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) and Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) each recorded top-10 finishes and lifted the Seton Hall men’s golf team to a second-place finish at the UConn Invitational on Tuesday.

Sun turned in his top round of the tournament, unleashing four birdies and 11 pars for a 1-under-par, 71. It’s Sun’s fifth sub-par round in nine total rounds so far this season. The junior placed third among 78 individual golfers with a 1-over-par, 72-74-71-217. It’s Sun’s fifth career top-10 finish and third career top-5 effort.

Xie turned in his second-consecutive 1-under-par, 71, to close out the tournament. The senior had five birdies on Tuesday and raced up the individual leader board to finish seventh overall. For the tournament, Xie was 5-over-par with a 79-71-71-221. It’s his ninth career top-10 finish. Additionally, Xie now has 24 career sub-par rounds to lead all active Pirates.

Rhode Island’s Brandon Gillis ran away with the individual title at 8-under-par.

Collectively, the Pirates improved mightily for a second straight day. The Hall shaved eight strokes off its second-round score to finish with an even-par, 288, on Tuesday. The Pirates were able to pass host Connecticut and Rhode Island on the final day to finish in second place, just four strokes behind St. John’s for the team crown. The Hall completed the tournament with a 25-over-par, 305-296-288-889.

It’s Seton Hall’s third-straight top-2 finish to begin the fall season.

George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) completed his third straight impressive tournament as a Pirate. The freshman had 13 pars on Tuesday to power a 3-over-par, 75. For the tournament, Fricker tied for 15th with an 8-over-par with a 76-73-75-224.

Sophomore Angus O’Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) turned in by far his most-impressive round of the tournament on Tuesday. He had three birdies and 12 pars in route to an even-par, 72. For the three-day event, he tied for 27th with a 12-over-par, 78-78-72-228.

Freshman Jack Bosworth (Simsbury, Conn.) also had his best round, shaving off eight strokes from his round two score. He had two birdies and 13 pars on his way to a 2-over-par, 74, on Tuesday. For the event, was 20-over-par with an 80-82-74-236.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Freshman George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) fired an even-par, 72, in Tuesday’s final round to lift the Seton Hall men’s golf team to a 10th place finish at the Georgetown Intercollegiate at Liberty National.

Fricker had four birdies and 11 pars in route to an even-par, 72. His day got off to a hot start as he was 3-under-par though his first 10 holes. For the tournament, Fricker tied for 23rd place among 60 individual golfers with a Seton Hall-best 7-over-par, 73-7872-223.

As a team, The Hall shot a 12-over-par, 300, in round three. The Hall finished 10th in a very competitive field that included national powers such as Duke, Michigan and Penn State with a 36-over-par, 296-304-300-900. Duke won the title at even-par. The Hall’s lone BIG EAST competition, Georgetown, finished in 12th place at 46-over-par.

After two strong rounds to begin the tournament, junior Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) struggled a bit on Tuesday and settled with a 9-over-par, 81. For the event, Sun tied for 34th place with a 10-over-par, 73-72-81-226.

The final three Pirate golfers all finished within a single stroke of each other. Freshman Jack Bosworth (Simsbury, Conn.) had three birdies today to finish with a 6-over-par, 78. For the tournament, he was 17-over-par with an 83-72-78-233.

Only one stroke behind Bosworth finished both Angus O’Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) and Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) at 18-over-par with both shooting 3-over-par on Tuesday. O’Brien had four birdies today and finished the event with an 18-over-par, 77-82-75-234. Xie had three birdies and 10 pars today and finishes the tournament at 18-over-par with a 73-86-75-234.

Daniel Island Intercollegiate – Oct. 30 - Nov. 1 Par 72 – 18 Teams Competing FINAL

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) and junior Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) tied for 51st place overall to lead the Seton Hall men’s golf team to a 14th place tie at the ultra-competitive Daniel Island intercollegiate on Tuesday.

Xie had three birdies and 12 pars in route to his second even-par, 72, of the tournament. For the three-day event, Xie shot a 15-over-par, 72-87-72-231. Sun finished the tournament with an 8-over-par, 80, on Tuesday and completed the event with a 15-over-par, 74-77-80-231.

As a team, The Hall shot a 19-over-par, 307, on Tuesday. It finished the tournament tied with HCU for 14th place with a 56-over-par, 303-310-307-920. Among the teams that Seton Hall bested is the College of Charleston which has a higher Golfstat ranking. Mississippi State won the team title at 15-over-par.

Sophomore Angus O’Brien (Barwon Heads, Australia) finished the tournament with a 10-over-par, 82, in round three. For the 54-hole event, he shot a 19-over-par, 78-7582-235. Only one stroke behind finished freshman Jack Bosworth (Simsbury, Conn.) who shot his best round of the tournament a 4-over-par, 76, on Tuesday. For the tournament, he shot a 20-over-par, 81-79-76-236.

Sophomore George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) had four birdies and shot his third-consecutive 7-over-par, 79. For the event, he was 21-over-par with a 79-79-79237.

A trio of Pirates made the trip to Daniel Island to compete as individuals. Sophomore Joshua Lee (Lantana, Texas) finished tied for 65th place with an 18-over-par, 78-7680-234. Junior Brody Hanley (Lantana, Texas) shot a 35-over-par, 81-84-86-251, while freshman David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) also finished with a 35-over-par with a 91-7882-251.

MARQUETTE CAPTURES MEN’S GOLF TITLE

Hardeeville, S.C. – On a day that included, sun, rain, and high winds, Marquette prevailed to win the 2023 BIG EAST Men’s Golf Championship Presented by JEEP and earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.

St. John’s Jack Simon and Marquette’s Bhoom Sima-Aree were co-medalists and were tied after 54 holes at 3-under 213. Simon won a playoff on the first hole to earn the conference’s NCAA automatic individual bid. Simon shot rounds of 69, 68 and 76. Sima-Aree shot 73, 68 and 72.

In the team standings, Marquette entered the final round one stroke ahead of Seton Hall and two strokes ahead of St. John’s. The Golden Eagles were one better than the Red Storm in the final round, 301 to 302. Seton Hall finished in third place, 12 strokes behind Marquette and was +21. George Fricker led the Pirates by shooting a 3-over 219 (6973-77).

Georgetown took fourth place, one stroke behind Seton Hall. Pieter DeGroot finished third with a 2-under 214 (71-70-73), one stroke behind Simon and Sima-Aree. The Hoyas’ 297 third-round score led all teams.

Butler and Villanova tied for fifth place, three strokes behind Georgetown. The Bulldogs moved up from a 10thplace finish last year. Butler was led by freshman Connor McNeely, who tied for fifth with a 1-over 217 (72-68-77). Villanova’s Peter Weaver tied with McNeely at 1-over (6972-76). St. John’s Ryan Rittberger (70-70-77) also was in the deadlock for fifth.

Creighton finished seventh, one stroke behind Butler and Villanova at +26. Charlie Zielinski finished fourth over with an even-par 216 (71-70-75). He took third place last year and is the only golfer to post back-to-back top-five finishes.

DePaul took eighth place, one shot behind Creighton, at +27. Noah Kolar was the top Blue Demon, tying for ninth with a 3-over 219 (72-71-76)

Connecticut ended in ninth place at 32-over par. The top Huskies were Jared Nelson (71-71-79) and Tommy Dallahan (72-72-77) who were in a four-way tie for 14th at 221. Xavier finished in 10th place at 34-over-par. Freshman Carson Bellish led the Musketeers by finishing 2-over 218 (73-71-74).

THE HALL COLLECTS FOURTHSTRAIGHT TOP-3 FINISH

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – The Seton Hall men’s golf team was within striking distance of a successful BIG EAST Championship defense for two and a half rounds, but ultimately, fell short and placed third at the conference’s marquee event on Sunday.

The Pirates entered the final round trailing top-seeded Marquette by just one stroke, but struggled on the back nine as 50 mile per hour wind gusts rattled the field. Scores were way up for all teams, and The Hall finished with a 24-overpar, 312, on Sunday. For the tournament, Seton Hall placed third with a 21-over-par, 286-287-312-885. Marquette won the title and the automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals with a 9-over-par score. St. John’s finished second at 12-over-par.

Despite the disappointing final round, The Hall recorded its fourth straight Top-3 finish at the BIG EAST Championship, a program first.

Seton Hall newcomers George Fricker (Woodbridge, England) and David Lally (Wicklow, Ireland) had the team’s top rounds despite the wind, each shooting a 5-over-par, 77.

Fricker had three birdies on the day, but also four double-bogeys. Still, he was the top Pirate performer for the weekend, tying for ninth among all individuals with a 3-over-par, 6973-77-219. It’s his fourth Top-10 finish this year.

Lally had five bogeys and 13 pars in round three. Playing in his first-ever BIG EAST Championship, the freshman tied for 14th place with a 5-over-par, 69-75-77-221.

St. John’s Jack Simon buried a 20-foot putt on the 18th hole to force a playoff with Marquette’s Bhoom Sima-Aree for the individual title. The golfers were 3-under-par for the tournament. Simon went on to win the playoff and earn the BIG EAST’s automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.

Senior Wenliang Xie (Zhaoqing, China) had three birdies on the front nine, and was just 1-ove-par at the turn, but struggled on the back and finished with a 7-over-par, 79, in round three. For the tournament, he placed 18th with a 6-over-par, 74-69-79-222.

Wanxi Sun (Danville, Calif.) was cruising and made the turn at 1-under-par, but found the water on the 10th hole. A triple bogey on 10 and a double on 11 turned a promising round into a struggle for the junior. He finished with an 8-over-par, 80. For the tournament, Sun tied for 23rd with an 8-over-par, 74-70-80-224.

Sophomore Joshua Lee (Lantana, Texas) had no double-bogeys on the day and finished with a 7-over-par, 79. He shot a 3-over-par, 75, in the second round.

SETON HALL IN THE BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP

Seton Hall has won three BIG EAST team championships since the inception of the league tournament in 1979. The Pirates won titles in 1992, 2000, and most recently, 2022. The 1992 team, coached by Allan Small, shot a 622 to better Connecticut and Providence by one stroke at the Tournament Player’s Club in Avenel, Md. The 2000 Pirates, led by first-year head coach Clark Holle, won the 2000 title with a two-day total of 580, a new BIG EAST record. The 2000 Tournament took place at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind. In 2022, The Hall rallied to best Marquette by three strokes in the final round thanks to a 7-under-par, 65, by Gregor Tait, at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Four Pirates have also won individual titles: Mike Costigan (1996), Eugene Smith (2000), Lloyd Jefferson Go (2016) and Gregor Tait (2022).

SETON HALL GOLF AT THE NCAA’S

The Seton Hall golf program made four consecutive trips to the NCAA East Regional between 1998 and 2001. In 2016, Lloyd Jefferson Go became the first to qualify for the NCAA Regional as an individual. He repeated the feat in 2017.

In ’98 the East Regional was held at the Daufuskie Island Club and Resort on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. The Pirates were the fourth seeded team in District 2 with Penn State, James Madison and Navy as the top three seeds. The team struggled at the regional, shooting a three round total of 929. An opening round score of 320 doomed the Pirates as they finished tied for 21st out of 23 teams. Mike Costigan led the Pirates as he finished tied for 89th with a three round score of 229. Eugene Smith finished tied for 101st with a 234, Clark Topping was 106th with a 237, Ted Durkin shot a 238, finishing 107th and Scott Hawley finished 109th after carding a 240. Although the Pirates struggled it was a great achievement for them to become the first golf team in Seton Hall’s history to reach the NCAA’s.

In 1999 the Pirates returned to the East Regional for the second straight year. The Regional was held at the Rhode Island Country Club in Barrington, RI. The team was the top ranked team in District 2 and was joined in the regional by Richmond, Penn State and James Madison. The Pirates earned their best finish ever in the regional, tying for 17th with the University of Maryland. Seton Hall finished third out of the District 2 teams with a three round total of 889. Smith led the Pirates as he finished tied for 43rd with a score of 220 and was followed closely by Costigan, who finished 53rd with a 221. Brian McGowan finished 72nd with a 224, Hawley shot 229, finishing 99th and Topping rounded out the scoring for the Pirates as he finished 114th with a 235. The Pirates improved their score in the Regional by 30 strokes.

The 2000 regional marked the third consecutive appearance for the Pirates after the squad’s berth-clinching BIG EAST Championship victory. Clark Holle, in his first season as head coach, led the Pirates to Moosic, Pa., site of the Glenmaura National Golf Course. Unfortunately, Seton Hall never got a chance to finish the tournament, as the NCAA Golf Committee determined that six teams would be dropped after the second round because of inclement weather. The Pirates shot a 303 in the first round and 325 in the second. Smith once again paced the team with a total of 151, while Hawley shot a 157. The Pirates’ final official scoring was “Did Not Finish” but they were 24th after two rounds.

In 2001, the Pirates received an at-large bid and traveled to Williamsburg, Pa., for the East Regional at the Golden Horshshoe Golf Course. Seton Hall finished tied for 19th at the regional with a team score of 890 over three rounds. Smith paced the Pirates for the third consecutive year, shooting a three-day total of 216, tying him for 56th overall. McGowan finished with a score of 224 to finish tied for 93rd while Jay Allaghi, only a freshman, shot a 226 to finish tied for 104th. Justin Van Hyning (228; 111th) and Drew McMahon (233; tied for 124th) rounded out the Pirate finishers.

In 2016, Seton Hall sent an individual, Lloyd Jefferson Go, to the NCAA Regionals for the first time. Go won the individual title at the BIG EAST Championshp to earn the automatic bid. He shot a 4-over-par, 76-70-74-220, to tie for 38th place at the Kohler Regional in Wisconsin. The following year, Go earned an at large bid to compete as an individual at the West Lafayette Regional in West Lafayette, Ind.

In 2022, The Hall earned the BIG EAST’s automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals and were selected to play at nearby Yale for the Regionals. Despite being seeded 12th in the 14-team field, the Pirates finished eighth, placing better than No. 27 NC State and No. 31 Charlotte. Graduate students Andres Acevedo and Gregor Tait again led the team at 1-under-par for the tournament, tying for 21st place overall.
