Equipping students to discover and develop their divine design to serve Christ and the world through Spirit-empowered life, learning and leadership.
Defining innovation is a matter of vision, ambition and purpose.
From the President Innovation is the fuel for every institution. It is the dynamic factor that enables organizations to thrive and grow. It is this driving force that empowers the advancement of knowledge, offers answers for seemingly unsolvable problems, and inevitably allows culture to grow. Constant innovation offers endless opportunities to provide hope for the future. From college admission scandals to school closures, to an unprecedented level of student debt, America is clamoring for a better way to succeed in higher education. It can be accomplished, but the quest for it has to remain tireless. And this is our pursuit — to continually cultivate the improvement of higher education as we add new avenues of instilling knowledge in our students. Here at Southeastern University, we constantly innovate how we educate students. Each step of the way we seek to listen, to audit our context, to clarify our mission and to align our next actions accordingly. We continue to relentlessly pursue innovation as vital to the growth and advancement of higher education. We are inspired to foster an environment where students are compelled, supported and equipped to earnestly chase after the mission they have set out to achieve. Southeastern University serves to be a launching pad for the dreams of students who will impact and cultivate a world with the purpose of glorifying Jesus Christ.

affordable educational opportunities for students in ministry and other professions. Since that time, 150 sites have been launched in 40 states with 2,617 students. PREPARING MORE STUDENTS FOR MINISTRY In 2019, SEU trained nearly 2,300 students for ministry-related positions, making us the largest
Pentecostal university in the United States. Almost 75 percent of these students studied at one of SEU’s partner sites.
PRACTICAL TRAINING Students at partner sites graduate with practical experience in local church ministries. This is accomplished through practicums that are created within the church to provide hands-on training for students as they become seasoned in a specific area of ministry. Students graduate with at least 1,200 hours of documented experience in their practicum. They gain experience by learning from church staff members and growing in their specific area through leadership opportunities. This mentoring and ministry experience sets SEU partner sites apart from the traditional college experience.

What’s New in 2019? Aviation Program Partnering with a local FAA-approved flight school, SEU introduced an innovative aviation program that provides a fast track to professional pilot certification. This program will help students meet the urgent need for professional pilots in the coming decades. Boeing is projecting a worldwide shortage of nearly 800,000 over the next 15 years, due to a large percentage of the professional pilot population reaching retirement age.

Although he played football his whole life and regularly went to the doctor for physicals, Xavier was not aware that he had a heart condition known as Wolf-Parkinsons White. Since then, Xavier has undergone three surgeries to close the hole in his heart, with the third being successful. Now a pre-med major at SEU, Xavier has partnered with Who We Play For, an organization that works to eliminate preventable sudden cardiac death in young athletes through heart screenings. He advocates across the nation to share his story of how this simple, but often omitted, EKG test saved his life.
