Building search authority takes time, so it’s a good idea to develop an SEO strategy early on. HubSpot can help you to with your strategy in a number of different ways. First, you can use HubSpot’s Competitors Report to see where you stack up against your direct competition. For SEO, you want to look at metrics such as indexed pages, linking domains, and mozRank (which ranks a site on a scale of 1-10 based on link authority and popularity). Second, you should look at the Keywords Tool to determine where you rank for relevant keywords. Want to see if there are any keywords opportunities that you may have missed? According to HubSpot’s own State of Inbound 2014, “marketers who blog are 13x more likely to drive positive ROI.” Because of this, blogging was the #1 tactic that vendors and inbound marketing agencies were planning on using to help them bring in new leads. SaaS companies tend to find it challenging to blog consistently. This is usually because they run rather lean and nobody within the organization has time to sit down, think of a topic, write the article and then publish it. While HubSpot can’t actually write engaging blog content for you, it can help with some of the associated tasks. For SaaS companies, the buying cycle can be shorter than with other industries, especially for companies that offer a free trial.
