Your outdoor space sets the tone for your home so accessorize with seasonal décor like outdoor pillows, a holiday wreath and festive lighting.

TIP Adding a bench, rocker or attractive chair to a front porch makes it just so welcoming.

An entryway can make a big first impression! Adding small yet functional decorative pieces like a hall tree, bench, hanging mirror or interesting artwork can set a welcoming tone.

TIP Find the perfect sign. A welcoming sign says so much about you to your visitors.

04 LIVING ROOM

A thoughtful centerpiece, good lighting and plenty of food and drink is all you need to set the stage for a festive dinner party. Be sure to have extra dinnerware, serveware and flatware on hand.

TIP Change bowls of spring fruits and flowers to something with rustic touches like pinecones, acorns or pumpkins.

Poufs and ottomans are easy ways to add seating. A bar cart gives guests easy access to refreshments and can also double as a stylish end table. You can also accent your room with seasonal throws and pillows to add a holiday flair!

TIP Introduce some warm color tones and include seasonal elements of nature.

06 BATHROOM

Thoughtful touches go a long way in your guest room. A basket of extras like a note with your home Wi-Fi password, a bottle of water, snacks and magazines is a great place to start.

TIP FRESH FLOWERS it’s not an absolute must, but even a tiny little bouquet from the grocery store will make your guests feel super welcome.

Light a candle in your powder room before guests arrive. If you anticipate overnight guests, be sure to have fresh towels and consider a tray of toiletries to have on hand for any forgotten essentials.

TIP Have bath products ready for guests. Add shampoo, conditioner, and soap to the shower or bath area.
