The Digital Den offers cyber-café style facilities with free internet access — ideal for getting online to make claims, search for jobs, or make savings through online shopping. Originally set up in partnership with Social Telecoms, a local Community Interest Company at Meole Brace, the Den provides affordable access to broadband and Wi-Fi services on a contract-free basis, as well as refurbished computer equipment for sale, and free access to computers throughout the day. Our new Den at Castlefields also offers free access to the internet and help to get online at our regular drop-ins and job clubs. The Dens offer free training courses to residents and other community groups to help build confidence in using computers and getting online. It has proved so popular with local young people that specific homework clubs are now being held. With it becoming ever more important for people to have access to the internet, most that do are often using their mobile phones, which have limited functionality and can be expensive.
