getting around town

Seward is compact and easy to navigate. The majority of activities and attractions are found within one mile of downtown or the boat harbor, so walking and biking— especially along the waterfront path—are feasible with light luggage or a daypack.

The City of Seward and many hotels, lodges, and tour operators offer complimentary shuttles. A tear-out map of Seward, including the free shuttle route, can be found at the back. See p. 73 for a full list of transportation operators.

Accessibility

Visitors with limited mobility and families with small children have several options for accessible activities and attractions Wheelchair and stroller-accessible options include:

• Wildlife & glacier sightseeing vessels

• Paved waterfront trail

• One-mile loop trail near the Exit Glacier Nature Center

• Alaska SeaLife Center

• Some charter fishing vessels

• Seward Community Library & Museum

• Historic downtown shops
