The fishery sector has broadly contributing to the Sri Lankan economy. The coastal area is consisting 1500km2. Sri Lanka has huge sea area for the fishing has been done in tanks and interior places of the country.

Hook, reels, lines, sinkers, floats, rods, gaffs, baits, lures, spears, nets, traps, waders and tackle boxes are the equipment which they used for fishing.
