1869 Im Sommer 1869 eroberte die Seilschaft Paul Grohmann, Franz Innerkofler und Peter Salcher die Große Zinne. Damit war die große Gipfeljagd in den Sextner Dolomiten eröffnet: Alpinisten aus aller Welt suchten hier das große Abenteuer und erschlossen neue Kletterrouten… Zu Ehren der Geburtsstunde des Alpintourismus steht das Jahr 2019 in der Dolomitenregion 3 Zinnen ganz im Zeichen dieses 150-Jahr-Jubiläums. In der gesamten Region wird in verschiedensten Initiativen und Veranstaltungen das Jubiläumsjahr spürbar sein.

In summer 1869 the party Paul Grohmann, Franz Innerkofler and Peter Salcher conquered the Cima Grande. This was the start of the great summit rush in the Sesto Dolomites: alpinists from all over the world came here seeking great adventures and opened up new climbing routes… In honour of the birth of Alpine tourism, this 150th anniversary will be celebrated in the holiday region 3 Zinnen throughout 2019. The anniversary will be marked throughout the region with various initiatives and events.

A settembre 2018 il leggendario Alpinista Christoph Hainz ha riaccompagnato l´ottantenne Reiner Kauschke attraverso la Via dei Sassoni Super-direttissima sulla Cima Grande da lui aperta nell´inverno del 1963 insieme ai compagni di cordata Peter Siegert e Gerd Uhner. A quel tempo, gli alpinisti rimasero appesi alla parete per 17 giorni a -30 gradi, questa volta, la scalata si è svolta d’estate e agli alpinisti sono servite 17 ore per scalare la parete. Le riprese di questa scalata evento sono diventate un film che verrà proiettato nella Sala Gustav Mahler del centro Culturale Euregio Gustav Mahler per l´apertura delle celebrazioni estive del giubileo dei 150 anni. La serata sarà introdotta da una conferenza di storia dell´alpinismo presentata dall´alpinista Erwin Steiner.
Last September the mountaineering legend Christoph Hainz accompanied Reiner Kauschke for his 80th birthday along the Route “Sachsenweg – the Superdirettisima” on the Cima Grande. The route was first climbed by Kauschke together with Peter Siegert and Gerd Uhner back in the winter of 1963. 55 years ago they spent 17 days in the rock face, at temperatures of minus 30 degrees Celsius. This time, the summer ascent took them 17 hours. This extraordinary climb has been filmed and it will be premiered in the Euregio Cultural Center Gustav Mahler in Dobbiaco to honor Reiner Kauschke and open the celebrations. The evening will be introduced by a lecture about the alpine history presented by the local mountain guide Erwin Steiner.

Christoph Hainz begleitete Reiner Kauschke zu seinem 80sten Geburtstag durch die von ihm erstbestiegene Route Superdirettisima an der Großen Zinne Nordwand, welche Reiner Kauschke im Winter 1963 mit Peter Siegert und Gerd Uhner eröffnet hat. Damals vor 55 Jahren waren sie 17 Tage bei -30° Celsius in der Wand, dieses Mal benötigten Hainz und Kauschke für die Sommerbegehung 17 Stunden. Zu Ehren dieser großen Leistung von Reiner Kauschke wurde ein Dokumentarfilm gedreht, welcher am Abend im Euregio Kulturzentrum Gustav Mahler in Toblach als Auftaktveranstaltung des Jubiläumsjahres gezeigt wird. Bergzeit: Die einzigartige Sextner Bergsonnenuhr ist eine der wohl markantesten Skylines, die die Natur geschaffen hat. Die hoch über Sexten aufragenden Gipfel Neuner, Zehner, Elfer, Zwölfer und Einser bilden zusammen das imposante steinerne Uhrwerk. Am Stand der Sonne über den bezeichnenden Gipfeln lässt sich die Uhrzeit ablesen. Im Juni und Juli 2019 wird dieses Phänomen durch eine einmalige Inszenierung besonders deutlich sichtbar.
L’ora in montagna: la straordinaria Meridiana di Sesto è forse lo skyline più rimarchevole creato dalla natura. Le cime dolomitiche Nove, Dieci, Undici, Dodici e Una, che svettano nel cielo sopra Sesto, formano insieme l’imponente orologio di pietra. Nelle giornate di bel tempo si può leggere l’ora basandosi sulla posizione del sole che illumina le cime. A giugno e luglio 2019 questo suggestivo fenomeno naturale verrà esaltato da una messa in scena tanto coinvolgente quanto singolare.

Mountain Time: The unique Sesto Mountain Sundial is probably one of the most striking skylines created by nature. The peaks - Nove (9), Dieci (10), Undici (11), Dodici (12) and Una (1) tower high above Sesto and together comprise the imposing craggy timepiece. You can tell the time from the location of the sun over the respective summits. In June and July 2019 this phenomenon will be especially clear to see due to a unique staging.

Das Gipfelbuch ist der schriftliche Beweis für Heldentaten in den Bergen. Jede spektakuläre Erstbegehung erzählt von Mut, von großem Ehrgeiz, mentaler Stärke und technischem Können – und von einem gewissen Maß an Verrücktheit. Genau diese Eroberungen wurden bereits seit dem späten 19. Jahrhundert in den Büchern hoch oben auf den Bergen dokumentiert – Sexten holt nun ab dem 26.06.2019 die Gipfelbücher ins Tal, inszeniert sie als begehbare Kunstinstallation und macht sie authentisch erlebbar. Bei der feierlichen Eröffnung wird Sextens Schwesternstadt Zermatt dabei sein.
Il libro di vetta è la prova scritta delle imprese eroiche in montagna. Ogni prima ascensione è frutto di coraggio, caparbia, forza mentale, abilità tecnica… e sempre anche di un pizzico di pazzia. Proprio queste impavide imprese sono state documentate sin dal tardo XIX secolo nei libri posizionati sulle vette delle montagne. Dal 26 giugno 2019 la località di Sesto porta a valle i suoi libri “firmati in cielo”, inscenandoli in modo spettacolare e rendendoli accessibili al grande pubblico. All’inaugurazione parteciperà anche una delegazione di Zermatt, città gemellata di Sesto.
The summit book is written proof of heroic deeds in the mountains. Each spectacular first climb told of courage, great ambition, mental strength and technical ability - not to mention a certain measure of madness. It is these very conquests that have been documented in the books high up in the mountains since the late 19th century and from 26.06.2019 Sesto will be bringing the summit books down into the valley, exhibiting them as an accessible art installation and enabling visitors to experience them in authentic fashion. Representatives from Sesto’s twin town, Zermatt, will be attending the grand opening.

Das erste offiziell dokumentierte Gipfel-Rendezvous zwischen Mensch und Berg in den Sextner Dolomiten und Startschuss für viele weitere. Genau 150 Jahre später wird dieser Meilenstein in der Geschichte Sextens gebührend gefeiert, mit guter Live-Musik und einem Gourmet-Picknick im „Stadile Winkl“, zu Füßen der Dreischusterspitze. Seien Sie dabei, wenn die Originalroute spektakulär beleuchtet wird.

Il primo rendez-vous in vetta tra uomo e montagna ufficialmente documentato nelle Dolomiti di Sesto a cui fecero seguito molti altri. A distanza di esattamente 150 anni, questa pietra miliare nella storia di Sesto viene celebrata a dovere, con buona musica dal vivo e un pic-nic gourmet nello “Stadile Winkl” ai piedi della Punta dei Tre Scarperi. Non mancate all’appuntamento e soprattutto non perdetevi l’illuminazione scenografica del percorso originale.
It was on 18 July 1869, early on Sunday morning, when three mountain climbers shook hands on the Punta dei Tre Scarperi. The first officially documented summit rendezvous between man and mountain in the Sesto Dolomites, and the starting signal for many more. Exactly 150 years later, this remarkable milestone in Sesto’s history will be fittingly celebrated, with great live music and a gourmet picnic, in the “Stadile Winkl”, at the foot of the Punta dei Tre Scarperi. Der Wanderweg von Landro ausgehend über das Rienztal zu den Drei Zinnen wurde kürzlich in den Paul-Grohmann-Weg umbenannt. Zusammen mit dem Toblacher Historiker Wolfgang Strobl und der Wanderführerin Antonella Fornari begeben wir uns auf eine Zeitreise zu den Spuren des großen Bergsteigens. Am Abend treffen wir uns nochmal mit Wolfgang Strobl im EUREGIO Kulturzentrum Gustav Mahler in Toblach zu einer Konferenz über die grundlegende Rolle in der Geschichte des Bergsteigens in Schluderbach. Antonella Fornari wird im Rahmen dieser Abendveranstaltung ihr neues Buch „Oltre lo strapiombo: la Cima Grande di Lavaredo si racconta“ vorstellen.
La via escursionistica da Landro attraverso la Valle della Rienza verso le Tre Cime è stata da poco dedicata a Paul Grohmann. Insieme a Wolfgang Strobl, lo storico locale di Dobbiaco, e Antonella Fornari, guida escursionistica, faremo un viaggio nel tempo sulle tracce del grande alpinista. The hiking path from Landro via Valle della Rienza to the Three Peaks was recently renamed Sentiero Paul Grohmann. Together with Dobbiaco historian Wolfgang Strobl and mountain guide Antonella Fornari we take a journey through time in the footsteps of this mountaineering feat. In the evening we meet again with Wolfgang Strobl at the EUREGIO Cultural Centre Gustav Mahler in Dobbiaco for a conference on the fundamental role of mountaineering in the history of Carbonin/Schluderbach and his book “Zu Gast in Schuderbach”. During the evening Antonella Fornari will also introduce her new book, “Oltre lo strapiombo: la Cima Grande di Lavaredo si racconta“.

Um das Jubiläum der Erstbesteigung der Großen Zinne durch Paul Grohmann, Peter Salcher und Franz Innerkofler gebührend zu feiern, ist die Idee entstanden, ein Denkmal bei den Drei Zinnen, einem der Symbole des Dolomiten UNESCO-Welterbes, zu setzen. Auf speziellem Papier aus Fabriano haben Grundschüler aus Sexten und Toblach, sowie Personen aus der Politik und örtlichen Verbänden ihre Wünsche, Gedanken und Hoffnungen zum Schutz und Erhalt des UNESCO Welterbes Dolomiten geschrieben. Am 21. August 2019 wird eine Zeitkapsel an der Drei Zinnen Hütte feierlich eingeweiht und zugleich werden die Wünsche für die nächsten 50 Jahre bis zum Jahr 2069 versiegelt.
Per commemorare l‘anniversario della scalata della Cima Grande da parte di Paul Grohmann, Peter Salcher e Franz Innerkofler, è nata l‘idea di dedicare un monumento alle Tre Cime, uno dei simboli delle Dolomiti patrimonio Naturale dell‘umanità dell‘UNESCO. Su una carta speciale di Fabriano, i bambini delle Scuole Elementari di Sesto e di Dobbiaco, oltre a personalità della politica e di associazioni locali, hanno scritto i loro desideri, pensieri e speranze riguardo la tutela e la conservazione delle Dolomiti patrimonio dell‘umanità dell‘UNESCO. Il 21 agosto 2019 presso il Rifugio Locatelli verrà quindi inaugurata una capsula del tempo dove questi desideri troveranno posto fino alla riapertura della Capsula del tempo dopo 50 anni, nell’ anno 2069.

To commemorate the anniversary of the First Ascent of the Cima Grande by Paul Grohmann, Peter Salcher and Franz Innerkofler, arose the idea to build a monument to the Three Peaks, one of the symbols of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage. The scholars from Sesto and Dobbiaco, as well as people from politics and local associations, wrote their wishes, thoughts and hopes for the protection and preservation of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage on special paper from Fabriano. On 21st August 2019, at the Locatelli hut, will be officially inaugurated a time capsule. The capsule will be sealed the same day and will preserve all this wishes for the next 50 years until the reopening in the year 2069. 21.08.2019 An einem der wohl berühmtesten Bergmotive der Welt, den Drei Zinnen, wurde Alpingeschichte geschrieben. Diese veranschaulicht Reinhold Messner nun in seinem neuen Bergfilm „Die Große Zinne“, dessen Dreharbeiten Ende Juli 2018 im Hochpustertal anliefen. Die 47-minütige Doku zeigt im Zeitraffer die Faszination der Berge im Wandel der Zeit - Reinhold Messner führt durch die Geschichte. „Nirgendwo anders lässt sich die Entwicklung des alpinen Kletterns von den Anfängen bis zur Gegenwart besser schildern als an der Großen Zinne“, erklärt Messner seine Motivation zum Film. Die Erstaufführung in der Region wird am 21.08.2019 um 21.00 Uhr im neuen Eisstadion von Toblach stattfinden. Anfangs ist für eine musikalische Umrahmung gesorgt. Anschließend stellen sich die Regisseure R. Messner und Hubert Schönegger selbst sowie auch die Filmschauspieler und Protagonisten den Fragen der Besucher.

La storia dell´alpinismo è scritta sulla roccia di una delle più affascinanti montagne del mondo, le Tre Cime. Reinhold Messner lo racconta nel suo nuovo film „Die Große Zinne / La Cima Grande“, girato a fine luglio 2018 in Alta Pusteria. Il documentario della durata di 47 minuti, guiidato dal racconto di Messner, mette in luce e risalta il fascino suscitato dalla montagna nel corso del tempo perchè „solo alle Tre Cime e in nessun altro luogo è possibile tracciare l‘evoluzione dell‘alpinismo dai suoi primordi fino ai giorni nostri“. La première del film si terrà il 21.08.2019 alle ore 21.00 nel nuovo Palaghiaccio di Dobbiaco, La proiezione sarà anticipata da un intrattenimento musicale e alla fine i registi R. Messner e Hubert Schönegger, insieme agli attori risponderanno alle domande del pubblico.
The history of mountaineering is written in the rock of the Three Peaks. Reinhold Messner illustrates now this statement with his new mountain movie „Die Große Zinne“. The shootings took place in the late summer of 2018. The 47-minute documentary shows the fascination of the mountain in the change of time. Reinhold Messner explains that „only at the Three Peaks, and nowhere else in the world, can be traced the development of alpine climbing from the beginnings to the present.” The premiere of this anniversary film begins at 8:00 pm at the Dobbiaco ice stadium. It will open with a musical supporting programme. The film will be shown at 9:00 pm. Afterwards Directors Reinhold Messner and Hubert Schönegger, the actors and protagonists are available to answer questions.

„10 ANNI DI DOLOMITI PATRIMONIO UNESCO, E ORA?”
Anlässlich des 10-jährigen Jubiläums der Aufnahme der Dolomiten in die Liste des UNESCO Weltnaturerbe veranstaltet EURAC Bozen, IDM Südtirol, die Stiftung UNESCO Dolomiten und der Tourismusverein Sexten einen zweitägigen Fachkongress. Die Ergebnisse der Tagung werden während der beliebten Abendveranstaltung „Sextner Kamingespräche“ des Vereins sextenkultur präsentiert.
In occasione dell’anniversario dell’inserimento delle Dolomiti nella lista UNESCO del patrimonio dell’umanità, EURAC Bolzano, IDM Alto Adige, la fondazione Unesco Dolomiti e l’associazione turistica di Sesto organizzano un convegno di due giorni i cui esiti verranno presentati nell’ambito della popolare manifestazione serale “Sextner Kamingespräche” dell’associazione culturale sextenkultur.
„10 YEARS OF THE DOLOMITES UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE: WHAT NOW?” On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Dolomites’ inclusion in the list of UNESCO World Natural Heritage sites, EURAC Bolzano, IDM South Tyrol, the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation and Sesto tourist information association will be holding a two-day conference. The results of the meeting will be presented during the popular evening event, “Sextner Kamingespräche” (lit. fireside chats) organised by the sextenkultur culture society.

AUSSTELLUNG „HOCH HINAUS! WEGE UND HÜTTEN IN DEN ALPEN” Vom 25.05.2019 bis 31.10.2019 ist die Ausstellung „Hoch hinaus! Wege und Hütten in den Alpen“ zu Gast im Naturparkhaus Drei Zinnen in Toblach. Die Ausstellung beinhaltet die Entstehung der bergtouristischen Infrastruktur, und zeigt den Wandel von den frühen Unterkünften Anfang der 1870er Jahre bis zu den technischen Innovationen, der zeitgenössischen Architektur am Berg von heute. Diese großartige Ausstellung entstand in Zusammenarbeit der Alpenvereine aus Deutschland und Österreich. SEXTEN BERG FILM FESTIVAL Das ganze Jubiläumsjahr hindurch werden in Sexten verschiedenste Bergfilme gezeigt. Darunter: Blockbuster, Klassiker, Kurzfilme und Dokumentationen. Im Zentrum stehen die Faszination der Berge und ihre Anziehungskraft auf den Menschen. Die Filme honorieren dabei die gesamte Bandbreite der damit verbundenen Erlebnisse. Tod und Leid werden ebenso thematisiert wie Glücksgefühle, Seelenfrieden und letztlich: Bestimmung.
MOSTRA „IN ALTO! SENTIERI E RIFUGI DELLE ALPI” Dal 25.05. al 31.10.2019 il Centro Visite Tre Cime ospiterà la mostra “In alto! Sentieri e rifugi delle Alpi” organizzata dall‘Alpenverein Südtirol in collaborazione con gli Alpenvereine di Austria e Germania. La mostra affronta il tema delle origini delle infrastrutture turistiche in alta montagna, dai primi semplici rifugi negli anni 1870 fino alle innovazioni tecnologiche e l‘architettura contemporanea in montagna. SEXTEN BERG FILM FESTIVAL GRANDE CINEMA NELLE DOLOMITI Nell‘anno dell‘anniversario a Sesto verranno proiettati diversi film incentrati sul tema della montagna. Tra questi: blockbuster, grandi classici, cortometraggi e documentari con focus sul richiamo e fascino che la montagna da sempre esercita sull‘uomo. I vari film mettono in luce tutto il ventaglio di emozioni e sentimenti: dolore e morte, gioia e pace dell‘anima, vocazione e destino.
EXHIBITION “ON THE TOP! PATHS AND HUTS IN THE ALPS” From 25.5.2019 to 31.10.2019 the exhibition “On the top! Paths and huts in the Alps” will come to the Nature park house Three Peaks in Dobbiaco. The exhibition includes the development of the mountain tourism infrastructure and shows the changes from the first accommodation in the early 1870s to the technical innovations and contemporary architecture in the mountains today. This fantastic exhibition was created together with the Alpine Associations of Germany and Austria. SESTO MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL Throughout the entire anniversary year, a wide variety of mountain films will be shown in Sesto. Including: blockbusters, classics, shorts and documentaries. At their heart is the fascination of the mountains and their attraction for mankind. The films acknowledge the entire breadth of associated experiences. Death and suffering are dealt with in the same way as feelings of happiness, peace of mind and ultimately: destiny.
SHOP GOES ART Acht Geschäfte in Sexten und Moos machen im Sommer 2019 in ihren Schaufenstern Platz für zeitgenössische Kunst! Acht Künstler aus dem Alpenraum, darunter Maler, Bildhauer und Holzschnitzer, stellen ihre Werke zu den Themen Berge, Abenteuer und Pioniergeist dort aus. Die Vernissage findet am 28. Juni statt. FOTOAUSSTELLUNG von Juni bis Oktober 2019, in der Bibliothek „Claus Gatterer“, Sexten. Die Fotoausstellung zeigt Bilder der Naturfotografen Daniel Tschurtschenthaler und Lukas Schäfer, die es lieben ihre Zeit im Freien zu verbringen und auf Bergspitzen zu stehen. Die Texte zur Ausstellung werden von den Schüler/innen der WFO Innichen verfasst. SPUREN Wer im Sommer 2019 durch Sexten spaziert, entdeckt auf seinem Weg immer wieder diskrete Spuren vergangener Tage, Dinge, die von Alpinisten auf ihrem Weg in die Berge oder davon zurück vergessen wurden. Sie erzählen die spannende Reise der Bergsteiger und die Geschichten ihrer Erlebnisse in den Sextner Dolomiten.

Otto artisti dell‘arco alpino, tra cui pittori, scultori e intagliatori del legno, metteranno in mostra i loro capolavori dedicati alla montagna, all‘avventura e allo spirito pionieristico. L‘inaugurazione della speciale mostra d‘arte si svolgerà il 28 luglio. MOSTRA FOTOGRAFICA Da giugno a ottobre 2019, nella biblioteca “Claus Gatterer” a Sesto . La mostra presenta le foto scattate da Daniel Tschurtschenthaler e Lukas Schäfer, fotografi naturalisti che amano trascorrere il loro tempo all‘aperto e salire in cima ai monti. I testi in pendant con la mostra sono scritti dagli alunni dell‘Istituto Tecnico Commerciale di San Candido. TRACCE Chi nell‘estate del 2019 passeggia nel paesaggio di Sesto, si imbatterà continuamente in tracce discrete di giorni ormai passati, in oggetti dimenticati dagli alpinisti durante l‘ascesa o il rientro dalla montagna. Sono tracce che raccontano dei loro viaggi e delle loro storie vissute sulle Dolomiti di Sesto.

Eight artists from the alpine region, including painters, sculptors and wood carvers will be exhibiting their works about the mountains, adventure and the pioneer spirit there. The exhibition opens on 28 June. PHOTO EXHIBITION from June to October 2019, in the Claus Gatterer Library, Sesto. The photo exhibition displays pictures by nature photographers Daniel Tschurtschenthaler and Lukas Schäfer, who love spending their time in the great outdoors, standing on mountain summits. The words accompanying the exhibition are written by pupils from San Candido Business College. TRACES Time and again, anyone walking through Sesto in summer 2019 will discover discrete traces of days gone by and things left behind and forgotten by climbers on their way to or back from the mountains. They tell of the exciting journey of the mountaineers and the stories of their experiences in the Sesto Dolomites.
