Sexten und seine Berge. Eine uralte Liebe, die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte immer wieder für spannende Überraschungen sorgte. Die markanten Dolomitengipfel prägen nicht nur das Sextner Dorfbild – sie sind es auch, die seit jeher das Schicksal und die Entwicklung der Ortschaft mitbestimmen. Und da jede gute Lovestory irgendwann, irgendwo ihren Anfang nehmen muss, lassen wir das erste offiziell dokumentierte Gipfel-Rendezvous zwischen Mensch und Berg als Beginn unserer wildromantischen Alpingeschichte gelten. Es war am 18. Juli 1869, einem frühen Sonntagmorgen, als sich drei Bergsteiger auf der Dreischusterspitze die Hände reichten. Die Erstbesteigung schlechthin und Startschuss für zahlreiche weitere. Nur einen Monat später eroberte dieselbe Seilschaft auch die Große Zinne. Damit war die große Gipfeljagd in den Sextner Dolomiten eröffnet: Alpinisten aus aller Welt suchten hier das große Abenteuer, erschlossen neue Kletterrouten und brachten die geschäftstüchtigen Sextner schließlich auf die Idee, sich dem Fremdenverkehr zu widmen. Ja, Sexten und seine Berge – die Geschichte einer großen Liebe.

Le maestose cime dei monti non sono solo l‘inconfondibile cornice entro cui si inscrive il paesaggio di Sesto: da sempre, le Dolomiti hanno un ruolo centrale nel destino e nello sviluppo della località. E poiché ogni love story che si rispetti comincia con un incontro memorabile, apriamo la nostra romantica e selvaggia storia con il primo appuntamento ufficialmente documentato tra l‘uomo e la montagna. È il 18 luglio 1869, precisamente una domenica mattina, quando tre alpinisti si stringono la mano esultanti sulla Punta dei Tre Scarperi. Hanno appena portato a compimento la prima ascensione sulle Dolomiti di Sesto, la prima di una lunga serie. Tempo un mese e la stessa cordata conquista anche la Cima Grande. Così ha inizio la corsa alla vetta: alpinisti di tutto il mondo accorrono a Sesto in cerca di avventura, aprono nuove vie e poco a poco ispirano alla gente del luogo – per propria natura assai versata negli affari – l‘idea di dedicarsi al turismo. Sì, Sesto e le sue montagne: una grande storia d‘amore.

Sesto and its mountains. An ancient love affair that over the course of the centuries has repeatedly ensured some thrilling surprises. The striking summits of the Dolomites do not just dominate the setting of the village of Sesto, they have also long been responsible for helping to determine the fate and development of the area. And since every good love story has to start sometime, somewhere, we will take the first officially documented summit rendezvous between man and mountain as the beginning of our ruggedly romantic alpine story. It was on 18 July 1869, early on Sunday morning, when three mountain climbers shook hands on the Punta dei Tre Scarperi. The first ascent bar none and the starting signal for countless others. Just one month later the same party also conquered the Cima Grande. This was the start of the great summit rush in the Sesto Dolomites: alpinists from all over the world came here seeking great adventures, opened up new climbing routes and ultimately gave the enterprising Sesto natives the idea of welcoming tourists to their village. Yes, Sesto and its mountains - a great love story!

Der Bergsteigerort Sexten lädt im Jahr 2019 zu einer aufregenden Reise durch seine Alpingeschichte ein. Überall im Dorf gibt es Spannendes zu entdecken: Zeitzeugnisse großer Eroberungen, Bergsteigergeschichten, Routen zum Anfassen und vieles mehr… Sesto, il Paese delle Tre Cime Vi invita ad un emozionante tour attraverso la sua storia alpinistica nel 2019. L’ORA IN MONTAGNA

MOUNTAIN TIME

Feierliche Eröffnung der „Bergzeit“, Frühschoppen mit der Musikkapelle Sexten und Uraufführung des Sextner Bergsteigermarschs von Klaus Tschurtschenthaler. Bergzeit: Die einzigartige Sextner Bergsonnenuhr ist eine der wohl markantesten Skylines, die die Natur geschaffen hat. Die hoch über Sexten aufragenden Gipfel Neuner, Zehner, Elfer, Zwölfer und Einser bilden zusammen das imposante steinerne Uhrwerk. Am Stand der Sonne über den bezeichnenden Gipfeln lässt sich die Uhrzeit ablesen. Im Juni und Juli 2019 wird dieses Phänomen durch eine einmalige Inszenierung besonders deutlich sichtbar.

L’ora in montagna: la straordinaria Meridiana di Sesto è forse lo skyline più rimarchevole creato dalla natura. Le cime dolomitiche Nove, Dieci, Undici, Dodici e Una, che svettano nel cielo sopra Sesto, formano insieme l’imponente orologio di pietra. Nelle giornate di bel tempo si può leggere l’ora basandosi sulla posizione del sole che illumina le cime. A giugno e luglio 2019 questo suggestivo fenomeno naturale verrà esaltato da una messa in scena tanto coinvolgente quanto singolare.

Mountain Time: The unique Sesto Mountain Sundial is probably one of the most striking skylines created by nature. The peaks - Nove (9), Dieci (10), Undici (11), Dodici (12) and Una (1) tower high above Sesto and together comprise the imposing craggy timepiece. You can tell the time from the location of the sun over the respective summits. In June and July 2019 this phenomenon will be especially clear to see due to a unique staging.

THE ACCESSIBLE SUMMIT BOOK

Das Gipfelbuch ist der schriftliche Beweis für Heldentaten in den Bergen. Jede spektakuläre Erstbegehung erzählt von Mut, von großem Ehrgeiz, mentaler Stärke und technischem Können – und von einem gewissen Maß an Verrücktheit. Genau diese Eroberungen wurden bereits seit dem späten 19. Jahrhundert in den Büchern hoch oben auf den Bergen dokumentiert – Sexten holt nun ab dem 26.06.2019 die Gipfelbücher ins Tal, inszeniert sie als begehbare Kunstinstallation und macht sie authentisch erlebbar. Bei der feierlichen Eröffnung wird Sextens Schwesternstadt Zermatt dabei sein.

Il libro di vetta è la prova scritta delle imprese eroiche in montagna. Ogni prima ascensione è frutto di coraggio, caparbia, forza mentale, abilità tecnica… e sempre anche di un pizzico di pazzia. Proprio queste impavide imprese sono state documentate sin dal tardo XIX secolo nei libri posizionati sulle vette delle montagne. Dal 26 giugno 2019 la località di Sesto porta a valle i suoi libri “firmati in cielo”, inscenandoli in modo spettacolare e rendendoli accessibili al grande pubblico. All’inaugurazione parteciperà anche una delegazione di Zermatt, città gemellata di Sesto.

The summit book is written proof of heroic deeds in the mountains. Each spectacular first climb told of courage, great ambition, mental strength and technical ability - not to mention a certain measure of madness. It is these very conquests that have been documented in the books high up in the mountains since the late 19th century and from 26.06.2019 Sesto will be bringing the summit books down into the valley, exhibiting them as an accessible art installation and enabling visitors to experience them in authentic fashion. Representatives from Sesto’s twin town, Zermatt, will be attending the grand opening.

Die Bergwoche begeistert mit einem vielfältigen Programm an geführten Touren und Wanderungen im Dolomiten UNESCO Welterbe, sowie diversen Abendveranstaltungen. Zwei ganz besondere Highlights darf man sich dabei nicht entgehen lassen:

The mountain week will delight visitors with a varied itinerary of guided tours and hikes in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, plus several different evening events. Es war am 18. Juli 1869, einem frühen Sonntagmorgen, als sich drei Bergsteiger auf der Dreischusterspitze die Hände reichten. Das erste offiziell dokumentierte Gipfel-Rendezvous zwischen Mensch und Berg in den Sextner Dolomiten und Startschuss für viele weitere. Genau 150 Jahre später wird dieser Meilenstein in der Geschichte Sextens gebührend gefeiert, mit Live-Musik und einem Gourmet-Picknick im „Stadile Winkl“, zu Füßen der Dreischusterspitze. Seien Sie dabei, wenn die Originalroute spektakulär beleuchtet wird.

Fu il 18 luglio 1869, una mattina di domenica, quando tre alpinisti si strinsero le mani sulla Punta dei Tre Scarperi. Il primo rendezvous in vetta tra uomo e montagna ufficialmente documentato nelle Dolomiti di Sesto a cui fecero seguito molti altri. A distanza di esattamente 150 anni, questa pietra miliare nella storia di Sesto viene celebrata a dovere, con buona musica dal vivo e un pic-nic gourmet nello “Stadile Winkl” ai piedi della Punta dei Tre Scarperi. Non mancate all’appuntamento e soprattutto non perdetevi l’illuminazione scenografica del percorso originale.

It was on 18 July 1869, early one Sunday morning, when three mountain climbers shook hands on the Punta dei Tre Scarperi. The first officially documented summit rendezvous between man and mountain in the Sesto Dolomites, and the starting signal for many more. Exactly 150 years later, this remarkable milestone in Sesto’s history will be fittingly celebrated, with great live music and a gourmet picnic, in the “Stadile Winkl”, at the foot of the Punta dei Tre Scarperi. Be there, when the original route will be spectacularly illuminated.

Ein Stelldichein von internationalen Größen und bekannten Namen aus dem Alpinismus, welche das Publikum in Erzählungen über ihre Abenteuer begeistern. Der Abend endet mit einer spannenden Podiumsdiskussion und Möglichkeit zum direkten Austausch mit den Bergsteigern.

Protagonisti internazionali e nomi di fama della scena alpinistica si incontrano sul palco per raccontare al pubblico le loro imprese sul tetto del mondo. La serata termina con un dibattito aperto sul tema e la possibilità di dialogare a tu per tu con gli alpinisti.

A get together between international greats and well-known mountaineering names, who will inspire the public with tales of their adventures. The evening ends with an exciting podium discussion and opportunity to chat directly with the climbers.

Am 21.08.1869 eroberte dieselbe Seilschaft, die die Dreischusterspitze bezwang, auch die Große Zinne. Womit den Bergsteigern Grohmann, Innerkofler und Salcher die Erstbesteigung schlechthin gelang. Zu ihren Ehren findet rund um die Drei Zinnen und in deren Tälern ein großes Bergfest statt. Besondere Attraktionen sind dabei die Zeitkapsel-Installation an der Drei Zinnen Hütte, sowie das historisch erlebbare Fischleintal. Am Abend findet in der Eishalle Toblach die Filmpremiere der Dokumentation „Die Große Zinne“ von und mit Reinhold Messner statt.

Il 21 agosto 1869 la stessa cordata che aveva conquistato la Punta dei Tre Scarperi raggiunse anche la vetta della Cima Grande. Per rendere onore ai tre pionieri della montagna Grohmann, Innerkofler e Salcher, intorno alle Tre Cime e nelle valli ai loro piedi verrà organizzata una grande festa in montagna. Tra le attrazioni più particolari vi sono la capsula del tempo installata presso il Rifugio Antonio Locatelli e le retrospettive storiche della Val Fiscalina. In serata è prevista, nel palaghiaccio di Dobbiaco, la proiezione del documentario “La Cima Grande” realizzato da Reinhold Messner.

On 21.08.1869 the same rope team that overcame the Punta dei Tre Scarperi also conquered the Cima Grande, whereupon the climbers Grohmann, Innerkofler and Salcher became the very first to achieve this feat. In their honour, a large mountain festival will be taking place around the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the surrounding valleys. Special highlights include the time capsule installation at the A. Locatelli Hut and historic experiences in Val Fiscalina. In the evening there will be a film première of the documentary, “The Cima Grande” with Reinhold Messner in Dobbiaco ice stadium.

„10 Jahre Dolomiten UNESCO Welterbe, quo vadis?“ Anlässlich des 10-jährigen Jubiläums der Aufnahme der Dolomiten in die Liste des UNESCO Weltnaturerbe veranstaltet EURAC Bozen, IDM Südtirol, die Stiftung UNESCO Dolomiten und der Tourismusverein Sexten diesen Fachkongress.

“10 anni di Dolomiti Patrimonio UNESCO, quo vadis?” In occasione dell’anniversario dell’inserimento delle Dolomiti nella lista UNESCO del patrimonio dell’umanità, EURAC Bolzano, IDM Alto Adige, la fondazione Unesco Dolomiti e l’associazione turistica di Sesto organizzano questo convegno.

„Time to say goodbye“, das etwas andere Bergsilvester. Auch im Jahr 2019 feiert Sexten den Jahreswechsel auf ganz besondere Weise: Um dem Trubel am traditionellen letzten Tag des Jahres zu entgehen, wird die Jahresabschlussfeier wieder kurzerhand einen Tag vorverlegt. Neben der traditionellen Fackelabfahrt mit der Skischule Sextner Dolomiten, erwarten die Gäste fulminante Showeffekte und das stille Feuerwerk zur Musik von „Time to say goodbye“ – live gesungen von einem Sextner Musiker ist Gänsehautfeeling garantiert!

Anche quest’anno a Sesto si festeggia il Capodanno in modo assolutamente originale: per evitare il trambusto dell’ultimo giorno dell’anno, i festeggiamenti verranno anticipati al 30 dicembre. Oltre alla tradizionale fiaccolata della Scuola Sci Dolomiti di Sesto con effetti sorpresa “fulminanti”, ci aspetta l’ineguagliabile highlight: il grande e silenzioso spettacolo pirotecnico, che sarà accompagnato dal canto di un musicista di Sesto. Time to say goodbye - momento da pelle d’oca!

An extraordinary New Year’s Eve at Sesto. Also this year Sesto is going to celebrate the New Year in a totally unique way: in order to escape the hustle and bustle of the last day of the year, the celebrations will be brought forward. In addition to the traditional torchlight descent by the ski school Dolomites of Sesto, we surprise our guests with spectacular show effects and an incomparable highlight: big but silent fireworks.

Das ganze Jubiläumsjahr hindurch werden in Sexten verschiedenste Bergfilme gezeigt. Darunter: Blockbuster, Klassiker, Kurzfilme und Dokumentationen. Im Zentrum stehen die Faszination der Berge und ihre Anziehungskraft auf den Menschen. Die Filme honorieren dabei die gesamte Bandbreite der damit verbundenen Erlebnisse. Tod und Leid werden ebenso thematisiert wie Glücksgefühle, Seelenfrieden und letztlich: Bestimmung.

Nell’anno dell’anniversario a Sesto verranno proiettati diversi film incentrati sul tema della montagna. Tra questi: blockbuster, grandi classici, cortometraggi e documentari con focus sul richiamo e fascino che la montagna da sempre esercita sull’uomo. I vari film mettono in luce tutto il ventaglio di emozioni e sentimenti: dolore e morte, gioia e pace dell’anima, vocazione e destino.

Throughout the entire anniversary year, a wide variety of mountain films will be shown in Sesto. Including: blockbusters, classics, shorts and documentaries. At their heart is the fascination of the mountains and their attraction for mankind. The films acknowledge the entire breadth of associated experiences. Death and suffering are dealt with in the same way as feelings of happiness, peace of mind and ultimately: destiny.

Die Fotoausstellung zeigt Bilder der Naturfotografen Daniel Tschurtschenthaler und Lukas Schäfer, die es lieben ihre Zeit im Freien zu verbringen, auf Bergspitzen zu stehen, den Wald zu erkunden oder Tiere zu beobachten. Sie schauen der Sonne zu, wie sie auf- und untergeht und starren oft stundenlang in den Nachthimmel. Die Texte zur Ausstellung werden von den Schüler/innen der WFO Innichen verfasst.

Non si stancano mai di ammirare il sole all’alba e al tramonto e di guardare per ore il cielo notturno. I testi in pendant con la mostra sono scritti dagli alunni dell’Istituto Tecnico Commerciale di San Candido

The photo exhibition displays pictures by nature photographers Daniel Tschurtschenthaler and Lukas Schäfer, who love spending their time in the great outdoors, standing on mountain summits, exploring the forest or observing wildlife. They gaze at the sun as it rises and sets and often stare for hours at a time at the night skies. The words accompanying the exhibition are written by pupils from San Candido Business College.

Acht Geschäfte in Sexten und Moos machen im Sommer 2019 in ihren Schaufenstern Platz für zeitgenössische Kunst! Acht Künstler aus dem Alpenraum, darunter Maler, Bildhauer und Holzschnitzer, stellen ihre Werke zu den Themen Berge, Abenteuer und Pioniergeist dort aus. Die Vernissage findet am 28. Juni statt.

Nell’estate del 2019 otto negozi di Sesto e Moso faranno posto nelle loro vetrine all’arte contemporanea. Otto artisti dell’arco alpino, tra cui pittori, scultori e intagliatori del legno, metteranno in mostra i loro capolavori dedicati alla montagna, all’avventura e allo spirito pionieristico. L’inaugurazione della speciale mostra d’arte si svolgerà il 28 luglio.

In summer 2019 eight shops in Sesto and Moso will be making room in their display windows for contemporary art! Eight artists from the alpine region, including painters, sculptors and wood carvers will be exhibiting their works about the mountains, adventure and the pioneer spirit there. The exhibition opens on 28 June.

Wer im Sommer 2019 durch Sexten spaziert, entdeckt auf seinem Weg immer wieder diskrete Spuren vergangener Tage, Dinge, die von Alpinisten auf ihrem Weg in die Berge oder davon zurück vergessen wurden. Sie erzählen die spannende Reise der Bergsteiger und die Geschichten ihrer Erlebnisse in den Sextner Dolomiten.

Chi nell’estate del 2019 passeggia nel paesaggio di Sesto, si imbatterà continuamente in tracce discrete di giorni ormai passati, in oggetti dimenticati dagli alpinisti durante l’ascesa o il rientro dalla montagna. Sono tracce che raccontano dei loro viaggi e delle loro storie vissute sulle Dolomiti di Sesto.

Time and again, anyone walking through Sesto in summer 2019 will discover discrete traces of days gone by and things left behind and forgotten by climbers on their way to or back from the mountains. They tell of the exciting journey of the mountaineers and the stories of their experiences in the Sesto Dolomites.

PICTURE EXHIBITION

von Juni bis Oktober 2019, in der Alten Volksschule Sexten. Die Bilder- und Töpferausstellung der Volksschüler und Kindergartenkinder von Sexten zeigt die wunderbare Bergwelt der Dolomiten aus den Augen der Jüngsten. Unter dem Titel „Dolomiten – Berge im Blickfeld der Kinder” sind die besonderen Kunstwerke Teil der der Ausstellung „Spuren der Geschichte“ im Zentrum von Sexten.

La mostra di disegni e vasi elaborati dagli alunni della scuola materna e della scuola elementare di Sesto propone il meraviglioso paesaggio delle Dolomiti visto con gli occhi dei più piccini. Intitolata “Dolomiti – I Monti Pallidi dalla prospettiva dei bambini”, l’esposizione è parte della mostra “Tracce di storia”, allestita nel centro di Sesto.

from June to October 2019 in the old Primary School in Sesto. The picture and pottery exhibition by the primary school and kindergarten children of Sesto shows the magnificent mountains of the Dolomites as our youngest residents see them. Entitled “Dolomites - mountains through the eyes of the children” the special works of art are part of the “Retracing History” exhibition in the centre of Sesto.

“BERGSTEIGERMUSIK”

Die Bergsteigermusik bestehend aus vier Musikanten der Musikkapelle Sexten und einem Singerquartett hat sich für das Jubiläumsjahr etwas Besonderes einfallen lassen: sie zieht durch die Gastbetriebe von Sexten und begeistert das Publikum in dem sie neue aber auch fast in Vergessenheit geratene Bergsteigerlieder zum Besten gibt.

In occasione del centocinquantenario, il gruppo Bergsteigermusik, composto da quattro musicisti della banda di Sesto e da un quartetto di cantori, ha elaborato una proposta tutta particolare: un tour per i bar e i ristoranti di Sesto all’insegna di un repertorio che va da canti di montagna quasi dimenticati a composizioni inedite.

Bergsteigermusik, consisting of four musicians from Sesto’s band and a quartet of singers, has come up with an extra special idea for the jubilee year: the group will be touring the inns and restaurants of Sesto delighting the public with its performances of almost forgotten mountaineering songs.
