PROMENADE Companion animal charnel house Spring 2020 Instructor : Chung Whan Park, Seuk Hoon Kim

The lives of those who live in the eternal flow of time are finite and temporary. They leave a permanent mark, even though they are an instant presence in Permanent. For an individual, personal traces will be those left by the closest being. The number of companion animals has increased rapidly as more and more people suffer from loneliness caused by the loss of an individual's inner self in a rapidly changing society. For people living in such a society, companion animals are very close to each other. Under the current law, animal carcasses are legally waste, so they can be disposed of only through funeral service companies. Generally, burials are frequently used are illegal, and if they do not go through the funeral service, they should be thrown away in a regular garbage bag. Many households are looking for animal burial facilities. companion animals can be a child, brother, or friend to people. The death of such a being is not simply the death of an animal, but the loss of various relationships. Therefore, it was intended to provide comfort and healing for those who experienced loss, while providing a place for them to naturally accept the finite nature of their lives and prepare for the post-death feelings. To improve respect for the memory of companion animals and negative perceptions of charnel houses It designed where people can go to relieve their emotions naturally and comfortably, as if they were going for a walk in the city center.

As of 2019, there are 37 animal burial facilities nationwide, and there are no funeral facilities in Seoul, where one-sixth of the nation's companion animals are being raised. In response, the Seoul Metropolitan Government prepared an amendment to the Animal Protection Ordinance. Although the ordinance was promulgated to allow the establishment and operation of burial facilities and to provide support to them, it has been difficult to build them due to the negative perception that they are hateful facilities for residents.

Since the agreement on the relocation of the Yongsan Garrison was reached in 1990, In 2006, after announcing the city's basic plan to establish Yongsan base as a major hub for the green area network of Seoul Park, the master plan was established through an international public contest for the design of Yongsan Park, but after the existing plan was completely scrapped in 2016, the government announced that it would actively communicate with the people in 2019 to establish the new plan.

Fill and Feel Gallery for antony gormley Fall 2018 Instructor : Mi Jung Lim, Na Rae Yang

Antony Gormley is a British sculptor who has established the concept of sculpture since the 1980s. He makes his body into a life-casting frame and calls it a body-case. The minimalist sculpture, which removes the detailed form of Antony Gormley from the inside to the outside, appears as a generalized figure, allowing the audience to compare with their own bodies through familiar human figures, reflect on the inner world, and further bring them closer to the essential world. In this, the inner space of Antony Gormley's sculpture was defined as not just an empty space, but a space of possibilities that would make humans feel boundless emotions, so that it would use columns and grids that could generally be used in general building, and that the empty spaces created by modifying them would be filled with light, wind, sky, nature, people and various experiences. The site is 23-3 Buam-dong, Jongno-gu, and is located on the east side of Mt. Bukak. Bukaksan is a 342-meter-high mountain located north of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. It is dominated by granite, and has been completely closed to the public for about 40 years for security reasons since the January 21, 1968, when North Korean armed guards infiltrated, and the plants are well preserved.

The Relationship of The Human Project To Time and Space Writing project Fall 2018 Instructor : Il Seock Kim

Body in time, to record body time. The body that makes up a human being contains the eternity of time that has passed through life. Numerous places experienced in that eternal time constitute the body space throughout life. The space of the body thus constituted provides senses for all time and space experienced during life, and the provided senses have the possibility of expanding into an infinite realm. Human life is finite, and as a result, the time and space that we experience in the process of life is finite, but all the senses we can feel while living are infinite. Antony gormley tells us the energy of the body expanding into an infinite realm. "It is you and your life that contains all the possibilities."

MODERATO Hotel renovation project Fall 2019 Instructor : Hyo Jin Lee, Yu Jin Park

Millennials decided to live in an economical and reasonable way, reducing waste of resources by sharing rather than owning them. Their lifestyle changes have led to the rapid growth of the shared economy, and until recently, platforms for the sharing economy have emerged one after another. The sharing economy can now be easily experienced in everyday life, and both food, clothing and shelter have reached a stage where it can be solved with a sharing economy. Among them, the real estate market is the most prominent shared economy activity. Shared housing serves as a solution to compromise and compromise the widening gap between housing prices and quality of life in Seoul. Accordingly, the project was designed to renovate the Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun branch located in Jongno-gu into a living space aimed at the high-end floor of the millennial generation, with only eight floors and a single room module. In recent years, offline gatherings with various interests have been spreading in various forms among millennials. Due to their distinct individuality and taste, and their importance on individual lives, they aim for small and dense communication among "people with similar tastes," not for an unspecified number. MODERATO is a music-related high-end Coriving Space where both experts and non-experts can enjoy everything about music, from classical to DJing, share their musical tastes through good sounds, and amplify their sense of daily life.

CO-STACK YOUR LIFE New normal culture spaces in the time of covid-19 Fall 2020 / Special Award Competiton Team : Se Youn Han, Eun Bin Kwon, Yi Hui Li , Ki Yong Lee Participation : Planning, Diagram, Model, Pannel

Starting with the outbreak of Corona 19, the worldwide fandom situation calls for the emergence of a new form of new normal. The demand for a healthier, more beautiful, eco-friendly and more creative way of life is stronger than ever in the communication of New Normal, including non-contact, non-face-to-face, social distance and voluntary isolation. The project aims to present a new normality of cultural space and experience that could have been lost in this era. Culture is no longer just a category where artistic activities are performed and displayed, such as museums and movie theaters. The existing natural routine of listening to music and cooking is also accepted as a culture free from the frustration of isolation. Accordingly, it proposes a new normal cultural space as "another home" where you can leave your home and enjoy a stay-at-home experience.

The playground site, which was previously used as a playground for the residents, is virtually unusable due to the decrease in the frequency of residents' use due to social distance. Through this project, the site will be actively used by residents again. It is hoped that single-person households will be able to recognize the space as "another home" and experience various cultural activities that have been incorporated into their daily lives.

Site diagram / Design stratege

Cultural activities that live in and are not satisfied with existing poor living conditions were mainly carried out in the form of sharing a program in a large space with many people.

However, the covid-19 stopped using these public facilities, making it difficult as well. Therefore, for young people who are socially isolated in the present era, we propose a new normal cultural space where they can pursue individual lifestyles while engaging in non-physical communication.

CO-STACK YOUR LIFE

77

One module can accommodate 1 or up to 2 people, and one module is 25m^2. It is based on 23m^2, which is the minimum space for one person to be happy. Each module contains one program and is combined according to each lifestyle, and is largely divided into dynamic type, intermediate type, and static type, and composed of two, three, and four combinations.

The residents' playground, which was not used due to the influence of corona, was selected as a site and a program was inserted to transform it into a cultural space for young people. Through the separation of the mass, we wanted to create a ventilation system suitable for the Korona era and to enable visual exchange between segmented masses, and by inserting vertical and horizontal lines separated according to the characteristics of each mass, many people were concentrated in one space, thus realizing a space suitable for the Korona era. In the space, various types of modules were mixed into the mass to create an interesting visual exchange.

CO-STACK YOUR LIFE

In order to be recognized by various people as 'another home', we need to embrace the lifestyles of various people. Accordingly, I propose a variety of lifestyle-based programs, from programs where you can enjoy a static lifestyle to programs where you can enjoy a dynamic lifestyle.

Thinking - Experience - Doing Writing project

Fall 2018 Instructor : Il Seock Kim

Who came up with the definition of a society that distinguishes that the imagination in the head is not reality? Looking at Eliason's work, I feel that what we see is just a fragment defined by society. It overturns the notion of nature that water is always blue, telling us that what we see is extremely subjective, and that reality is separated by clear boundaries. In fact, no one knows where the boundaries of reality exist. In some ways, it may be that we all acknowledge and accept a generalized view and believe that it is reality. However, Eliason communicates to us as a work. What you see is reality and what you see at the same time is not the only reality, so we see art. To get out of the perspective that is tied to the conventional wisdom of society and to find our own reality.

DIOR FLAGSHIP STORE Flagship store interior design Spring 2019 Instructor : Su Ran Kim Team : Se Young Han, Eun Bin Kwon, So Jeong Kim Participation : Planning, Facade Drawing, Rendering

It is a project to design Dior's flagship store. Stores are designed including women's and men's wear. Taking advantage of Dior's early feminine lines, the curved exhibition space, lounge, and reception area are separated so that people can focus on the collection. Thin columns and stairs provide the boundaries of the exhibition space, but all spaces are naturally connected and separated without obstructing the view of the lounge. The women's wear space expresses vividness, movement, and light with tones and manners that fit the concept of the 2019 s / s collection. In the menswear space, on the other hand, using tones and manners that fit the concept of the 2019 Free Fall Collection, colors and minimal lighting were used to express a soft and static feeling.

The theme of Dior's 2019 s/s collection is Flower Kaleidiorscopic. It is a concept inspired by dancers who looked different in each movement and showed a feast of shining light.

In the women's store design, the same pattern used by Dior was used and sandwiched between the glass tiles. This way the floor will look different from different angles. The ceiling made of mirrors is surrounded by a kaleidoscope, creating a space where you can experience the feast of light. Rose gold metal and rose marble were used as the point material.

The concept of Dior's 2019 pre-fall collection is contrast. The designer intended the static feel of soft fabrics to express Japanese Zen style.

As in the concept, the men's wear store wanted to create a soft space with cold and static materials such as concrete and steel. The overall space is made of concrete to give a static feel, and the curtain and velvet furniture are intended to provide a soft feel. Steel and mirrors were used as point materials to maintain the consistency of the store.

POINTILLISM HOUSE Kim whan-ki house Spring 2018 Instructor : Young Sun Ko, Ji Yoon Park

House for painter Kim Hwan-ki. Kim Hwan-ki's later works are all made up of abstract point illustrations, which maintain their own concentration, color, and texture, and make up their faces. It can be an island of the blue sea or a star in the infinite universe. Through so countless points, he wanted to capture his sentiments in the house that he wanted to return to nature. Based on a square module, a module with a diverse sense of space is constructed through variations in the module's open degree, direction, etc. Between the spaces of modified modules, there were spaces where light, wind, and seasons and nature could be felt to respect his contemplative life, which he wanted to return to nature.
