P R TF L I SEZER LUCIAN TURKMEN
About me
Two years ago, I moved to Europe, with the goal of enhancing my skills and education on architecture. I wanted to learn from European cultures and techniques here which differs from those in Turkey. I have believed that each new city and country help to improve my architectural view and open my eyes. Therefore, I have decided to study at Politechnico di Milano which is the one of university internationally famous and permiting an experience of a junction of multi cultural ambiance. Throughout the process of making this portfolio, I was able to reflect on my experience around the world working on different scale architectural and urban projects which are located on different parts of the World including Asian, European and American Continents. I can say now that I came to Europe as a master student of architecture and that I have now emerged as a young architect who is able to work all around the world. As an architect, I consider myself to be a generalist, in that I am interested in all architectural typologies and steps in architectural process. My master profession is focused on Multi-scale architecture and urban planing and sustainable design. Paralel to my educational background, I believe that designing a small scale object is a part of all content and existing organism. I have started to work ,firstly researching and analysing of surrounding content before sketching and conceptual model making. Finally, BIM and Techincal details should be define the project. I believe visual comminication is a key to emphasis the project design. In my bachlor, I have also decied to study Graphic design like double major in order to improve my knowledge on post-production process of architectural presantation. During my master education, I also enjoy working in a team and try to bring value to each situation. Through teamwork, I look forward to fulfilling my ideal of daily learning. I would like to stay in European cities, as they are so well known for their high stardards of living, and architectural and art quality. my architectural idea and education continues through my life. Each new projects are a new opportunity in order to enhance my architectural view and charachter.

Waterscape Acupuncture Xitang Xitang, China 2016 Architecture
The subject of analysis is Xitang Town, a historical southern Chinese Watertown located 80 km from Shanghai. A town with more than a thousand years history, that grew along the numerous rivers that flow in the area. This city experienced in the last decades a process of mass touristicization, exceeding now 3 million visitors every year. It caused a complex chain of economic and urban alterations. The city center was slowly invaded by touristic functions, forcing residents to sell their properties and to live in the new ‘dormitory neighborhoods’. It’s evident now how this process altered the harmony of the town, creating districts with very specific functions, active only in specific periods of the year or of the day. The Urban Acupuncture method is a socio-environmental theory that put together contemporary urban design with traditional Chinese acupuncture, with localized small-scale interventions
in order to transform a wider urban context. The main objective of the project is to select these sites through analysis in different scales of different topics, such as social, economic and urban aggregated. Once selected, these areas will be transformed mostly into public spaces. These would include various functions and dimensions, in order to create connections between these districts which currently are extremely different in nature. The goal of this urban project is to improve the level of coexistence of residents and tourists, in the same areas of the town. In this way the proposal aims to create a more efficient touristic destination for visitors from all the world and in the same time to improve the living conditions of the citizens of Xitang Town.

DEFINE A NEW FUNCTION
According to distance to Shangai and increasing number of tourist in Xitang, since creating interaction point for local and foreign people is a key in order to enhance functional quality of the city, Acupuncturing new culture zone on some potential points is considered. In Megalopolis of Shangai, Cultural activities has been concentrated mostly downtown, however this leads to decrease accessibility to Cultural event. One of key point of Waterscape Acupucture in Xitang is proposing a new auditorium in order to serve for local and non-local people and create a interaction athmospher for them as well.
CREATE AUDITORIUM STRUCTURE
ELEVATED AUDITORIUM ON PUBLIC SPACE
Auditorium is located cultural zone next to new canal area, also exist on western access point, which is considered like gate of this area, also collabrate with ground level library and modern art museum of Xitang which is a new architectural proposal on existing environment. The goal of project is creating public space through the intersection of surrounding networks. therefore importance of ground level joint, Auditorium is elevated from ground and it creates a public space related to the function.

The campus of Yeditepe University in Atasehir does not have enough place for knowledge centre, since popularity and number of students arriving each years increase a lot. Afasehir develops day by day considering the new housings and Äąt becomes new financial centre of Istanbul. According to importance of University inside the provience, Yeditepe University plays key role to enhance the quality of neighbourhood. New residential zones satisfy the needs of Atasehir, unfortunately, Cultural and Public functions still stay the same amount. Considering the presence of the University may help to improve these kind of needs.

Caserma Montello Milano, Italy 2015 Architecture Mat Design Studio
Northwestern Milan and Caserma Montello This large inner periphery area is fragmented, with heterogeneous uses, including the EXPO site, and much redundant space. It resents an important opportunity for Milan to imagine new urban development models relevant to a shift to a knowledge based economy. Like EXPO, Olympic Games, those kind of exhibitional and international events make create many new infrastructure network and architectural enhancement. Even if that big event nish, that new network still remain inside the city. Additionally, unrelated and related developments are always connected into that system. Firstly, when it is considered that Barcelona Olympic Games, surrounding the city center, some important nodes are created like Game area, Barcelonata, and new marina and new turistic buildings as well. They are connected by the circular ring system on the periphery area.
Nowadays, still that network system is exist and a ects the today’s developments, even if Barcelona Olympic Games nished at 1992. Like Barcelona, when EXPO MILAN will have nished, that new city network is still become a key factor to City’s future. When we look at the urban analysis the main ring and secondary crossing axis may be able to read. The master plan strategy is a ected by harmony with that network system. Mostly public, cultural and municiple facilities might be selected and less housing as well. Since surrounding systems include many housing uses. Concentual strategy includes becoming so dense close the network axis, and look like heteregeneous and multi functional systems.

Urban Community and Culture Centre Istanbul, Turkey 2013 Architecture
Kadikoy is the one of the historical development in Istanbul. Nowadays, some part of the city is under construction, since urban tranformation has started for couple of years. The sea side of the city is one of the intersection and interaction point of Istanbul. Especially, intersection of transformation systems both water and highways connections- is a key characteristic of provience. Main issue of project regeneration of the coastline of Kadikoy due to the fact that there are many abundant buildings and car parks have occupied the most important path which permit to people to touch to water.
The silhouette of Kadikoy includes the industrial instruments and cranes which are used for tranformation for manifactured products with ships. The concept of building is parallel to the existing silhouette of city.
KEYWORDS: Cultural Centre, Structure, Kadikoy, Urban Transformation.
The goal of project is to define some water sports zone, technological zone and cultural zone and between those network also to design a new cultural centre of Kadikoy considering to lack of art performence place. The mosque located on this area also is selected the most weak architectural work. Secular perspective of religion, the project provides a spritual place for all kind of religions. Elderly House of Ponticelli Napoli, Italy 2016 Architecture
The construction techniques pursue environmental sustainability and energy saving criteria and are based on a wide and diversified use of renewable resources and high-efficiency systems. The elderly housing functional systems are all centralized and automated, exploiting various renewable energy sources (especially solar energy via the use of photovoltaic cells and solar panels, as well as geothermal energy via the use of heat exchange probes). The energy system is based on the careful design of the layering, thickness and type of insulation used and of the fixtures and shading systems, so as to optimise the energy efficiency of the building. A sophisticated automatic brisesoleil and curtain system driven by temperature and solar radiation sensors reduces sun radiation during the hotter summer hours and allows for more sunshine entering during cold winter days.
to collect rainwater to be used for sanitary purposes, for irrigating the greenhouse and for supplying fresh water to the aquariums and the water moat surrounding the building, thus cutting the use of hydro water by 50%. rainwater collection and filtration system, greywater reuse for water closets, storm water infiltration pi to manage stormwater runoff, prevent flooding and downstream erosion, and improve water quality in an adjacent river, stream, lake or bay. it is essentially a shallow artificial pond that is designed to infiltrate stormwater though permeable soils into the groundwater aquifer. PoliMi Shelter Milano, Italy 2015 Architecture
The Advanced School of Architecture (ASA) of Politecnico di Milano is a brand new training programme, additional to standard courses and based on four workshops over a period of two years.
PolimiShelter must have a timber structure and an envelope which is adaptable to various contexts. This means that walls and roof, in particular, should be able to receive different cladding materials and have different performance levels.
PolimiShelter, this unit will generate its own power and will interact with the grid to supply electricity for lighting and plugs and to provide comfort in the cold season. PolimiShelter will also be an environmental monitoring station and will supply live information to students and users of the campus.
The module should be designed mainly around passive comfort principles and with energy-efficient technical solutions (“fabric first”). It has to be open and shaded during the summer months, but closed and heated in the winter time.

The Advanced School of Architecture (ASA) of Politecnico di Milano is a brand new training programme, additional to standard courses and based on four workshops over a period of two years.
The design interprets the guiding principles expressed by the Renzo Piano: "It clears away the concrete and returns space to the sea, in an urban repair operation, uniting the "factory of the port" with the city, which will again be a “city on the sea” [ Renzo Piano].
One of steps of workshop collabrated by Renzo Piano in RPBW fondation. The "Blueprint for Genoa" has updated the guidelines for composing KEYWORDS: Water Canals, Genoa, Urban the mosaic of harmonious development between Transformation, Advance School of Architecture city and port in the stretch of waterfront between the Gadda Wharf and Punta Vagno. The architectural design of the details remains open to design contests for each segment of the area. The zone that the City Council, in agreement with the City’s subsidiary SPIM and through intensive collaboration with the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, identified for the Blueprint Competition includes areas owned by SPIM and the City of Genoa in the former Trade Fair site.
