Open Barrier Instructor : Paul Vermeulen, Henk Mihl | TU Delft - Hybrid Buildings Graduation Studio | Antwerp | 2011
8
Open Barrier aims to create a continuous interaction between spaces while having a separation. (Dis)connection of the spaces, is the focusing point of the functions. The interactions between interior-exterior generate the question for finding the quality for the users. The relations between the functions inside and outside of the building have the quality to experience each other, but they have their barriers. It forms the idea of open barrier for the design approach.
the organization of the border between the main functions creates a central collective space for: _ accessibility _ gathering and distribution _ operating _ different time use

The basic idea of this project is to give the users a route to follow in the development of their own house. Starting from this idea, the users will be able to adjust the interiors and expand the house according to their needs (i.e. growing of the members of the family) and in a very cheap way, since the main structure has been already given to them.

City Foyer Instructor : Hans Teerds | TU Delft - Msc2 - Public Realm Studio | Amsterdam | 2010
14
City foyer aims to create a reflection of the city in one stucture. This will help the interaction between people while strengthening the connection between the user and the city. By creating different levels in the structure, it is experienced to be aware of everything in the city. It gives chances to form individual or mutual networks.

High Voltage Laboratory is designed as an additional unit for the Electricity and Electronic Engineering Faculty of ITU. Besides its educational opportunities, HVL provides a research complex to the academic personel and to the scientists. Due to its special function, the programme brings high safety and security requirements. In HVL project, the construction, materilisation and detailing are taken as the main focussing points of the process.

The main goal of the project is to crate a mobile stage system which provides flexibility. The system consits of three parts: stage, circulation corridor and the modular units for the backstage. It is essential to provide a flexible modulation for the stage; so the stage can be organised according to the necessities of the performances, concerts, plays etc.
