Breakthrough Challenge

The remarkable group of 15 Breakthrough Prize Foundation Challenge finalists (of 5,600 original world-wide applicants) includes St. Francis High School student Gianni P. ’21 for his video entry on the topic of dark matter. The Breakthrough Challenge Prize winner will be announced in March 2021.

Microsoft Showcase School: 4th Year In a Row!

The Microsoft Showcase School designation recognizes excellence in demonstrated student outcomes resulting from commitment to educational transformation. In addition, Mrs. Mary McCarthy, Mathematics Department Chair/Teacher, received Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert certification which recognizes global educator visionaries who use technology to pave the way for their peers for better learning and student outcomes.

Perfect SAT

Emery C. ‘22 scored a 1600 on the SAT. About 2.2 million students take the test each year and less than 1% get a perfect score. The average score in IL is 1011.
