Concept Model
The concept stemmed from the observation of the pastry known as the Jamaican Patty.
One could just see a simple edible, a simple shape, however if taken apart a patty does have layers and ingredients that make it a whole, things that make it what it is. Therefore I’d like to create a structure in which has depth and meaning to it, and as you enter and gradually move forward, this gets more interesting as it is layered accordingly.
This structure would be centered around Jamaican Pastry, as I think this is not celebrated enough as it is important to the Jamaican culture.
The Maziar Brick House is a residential home located in Royan, Iran. It was completed in the year 2017 by the Naghshe Khak Architectural Group. It is 210 m2.

Concept: VIBRANCY Precedent
Vibrancy as a concept, is a takeaway from these paintings acquired in OchiRios, as these embodied how I would like the overall project to feel, the project should have rhythm just as the beat of the conga drums and dynamism.

Concept: EXOSKELETON
An exoskeleton would be the rigid or articulated envelope that protects the soft tissues of certain animals. The idea stemmed from Santiago Calatrava’s “Turning Torso” and is referenced by the Susano’o from Naruto Shippuden.
For Kingston and for the people of 2092, the idea was to create a structure in which would act as a safe haven as well as a multicultural building in which the citizens could be proud of. The structure would be a space that people can go to and be themselves, a symbol of peace, protection, power, and green energy. Ultimately, the structure should bring people together, embracing and reinforcing Jamaica’s “Out of Many One People”.
