When the world ends, she said, Fire will rage through the collapsing cities, Children will scream, the animals will cry, Flowers will wilt and the plants will weep.

When the world ends, she said, Oceans will rise, overflow, The sun will burst, like a popped balloon, The moon will shrivel and drip glowing ooze, The stars will plummet down-Fireballs of doom.

When the world ends, I said, I will breathe in the air of a new life.
