SHS Graduation 2011
Sequim Gazette
Long gone are the days when we first walked onto the SHS campus as young freshmen. The day we would graduate seemed like a century away. Since then, the years have flown by and we now face our final days of high school. With graduation drawing nearer, there is a strong focus on our future plans and goals. Each day we encounter questions of what we want to do with our lives, but plans do not always work out exactly as we intend them to. So when people ask us what we are going to do with our future, maybe we should tell them this: Plan to be surprised. There is a world of opportunity out there, and you will never know what turns your life will take. Plan to be surprised at what you accomplish, plan to be surprised at where your education takes you, and plan to be surprised at who you will become. Our class is fantastic, and so is our future. As you continue your life, I challenge you to live each day to the fullest, take advantage of your opportunities, and most importantly, do the things you love. As Maya Angelou said, “You can only become accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you.” Believe in yourself and move forward with passion in your heart. And let us not forget our remarkable community as we celebrate this time in our lives. Our families, friends, teachers, and community members have provided us with a roadmap to the world of tomorrow, and without them graduation would not be a reality. Their guidance and encouragement has helped us become who we are. So as your name is announced on graduation day, hold your head up high and accept your diploma with pride. You have earned it. I have found pleasure in serving as your class president, and I look forward to announcing your names at graduation. I am so proud of every one of you! Congratulations, SHS Class of 2011! SHS Graduation 2011

Our Dearest Joshua, It seems like just yesterday you and grandma were playing dinosaur games, legos, and reading “Thomas the Tank Engine” books. Here you are a grown young man of 19 years, and will be heading off with the U.S. Air Force after graduation. You have always been sure of your goals and aspirations. Grandpa Chuck and I are so very proud of all of your accomplishments over the years. Our love and prayers will follow you wherever life takes you. Congratulations, and God bless and keep you in His care!
Grandma & Grandpa Chuck
Dear Dani, Thank you for being part of the Rotary Youth Exchange program. We hope your year with us will always be a fond memory. I know that everyone who had an opportunity to Host you and spend time with you will cherish the memories. You are a very special person and we all wish you the best for your future. Do well at the University, we look forward to visiting you in Mexico.
Bill & Sharron & the rest of your Rotary Family
Dear Drew, You have brought us nothing but joy for eighteen years and we thank you. Now as you prepare for life on your own, take stock of where you’ve been and where you hope to go. Few have accomplished what you have, earning a high school and college diploma simultaneously, all while enjoying the sports you so loved. Our job is to give you the skills and set you free, you are more than ready. But should you stumble, our net is wide. Run on, don’t look back, and always stay true to who you are. You are a remarkable person and a precious human being. We are honored to be your parents.
Love, Mom & Dad
Congratulations, Winston! The road of life prepared you at a young age for this day, and look at you now! Through difficult conditions, you prepared yourself responsibly, in all that you’ve done. You

can now continue on your journey with confidence because of your good work ethic and good choices. In spite of potholes, you’ve been privileged to travel on life’s Highway 101 and had good road signs along the way. Continue to follow the G.P.S. you’ve been given as you come across new roads and you will navigate throughout life victoriously.
We love you, Winna! Always, Mom & Dad
Hey Maddy Girl, You are awesome – We love you and wish you all the best. Have a great college experience. Look forward to watching you “catch” in St. Louis!!
Bunches of Love, Grandma Cheri & Grandpa Gene
Dear Jessica, Though to you it took a lifetime to become so confident and tall, we feel as if a moment has passed since you were very small. We’ve watched with joy and wonder all the accomplishments you’ve had, and we want to let you know… how very proud of you we are, and how much we love you. We look forward to watching you make your dreams come true and we will be there with you all the way! Congratulations!
With Love, Dad, Mom, Dan & Lamonica, & Sally & Bozzie too!
Courtney Lynn Brown, Our special princess – we are so proud of you! We never could have dreamed that we would get to see you graduate. You have faced so many challenges in your life, yet you overcame them without complaint. You have taught us what it means to be strong and courageous, and to be appreciative of each day. You touch the lives of all who meet you and we are so blessed to have you in our life. May you continue to spread your joy and God’s love for many years to come!

well; we want you to be able to buy all the toys you want. So Chris, here is to you! We have enjoyed watching you grow from a sweet little baby to the nice young man you are today; we look forward to watching you grow into the man you will become. Good luck honey, we love you.

Dalton Wilson, It’s been a joy to watch you grow to be such an outstanding son. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. Shoot for the stars!
We love you, Mom, Dad & Danyelle
Sarah B., Congratulations! We could not be more proud of our little Sarah B.! It seems like just a moment ago that you were entering high school, full of promise and aspiration. Now you are headed off to the big city to pursue your dreams. We wish you the very best and know that you will continue to inspire those around you. You have an amazing journey ahead and we know you are going to enjoy every minute of it. Know that we love you and wish you every success in college. So hitch your wagon to a star and fly!
Love, mom and dad
Dear Chris, You make us so proud. It seems like just yesterday when you were saying to your dad, “Just one more day daddy, just one more day” when you wanted him to follow the bus to school and meet you to walk you to class. Next came the boy scouts and the pine wood derbies and cake auctions. You always wanted us to buy the cake we made, because you wanted the toys on top. Remember when you wanted a baby and kitty; we thought we made you happy with the kitty, and then what a great surprise we got, baby Matty. The time passed by so fast; next was middle school, then high school. We sat through some cold football games and young man, you showed your dedication, you stuck with it, and boy did you shine your senior year; you proved how good we knew you were the whole time. As you prepare for the next phase of life, we have no doubt you will be successful. We want you to have a job you enjoy and one that pays you
Dalton, You defy description. Constantly in motion. Effortlessly at ease. You move to your own rhythm and sing in keys that only you can hear. We celebrate your uniqueness. Cruiser, schmoozer, funny, punny. We love ya bud, and cannot wait to see what God has planned for your future! Isaiah 26:3 “The steadfast of mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in Thee.”
Love, Dad and Mom
Dearest Graduate Annie Christie, Wow, look where you are… Senior Class of 2011; and what an amazing journey it has been! It has not always been easy. It has been emotionally, intellectually, and physically challenging, but you have persevered and now you are at the finish line in this leg of your journey. We are SO proud of you; you don’t even know how deep our pride runs. You have worked long and hard to get here and the payoffs may only become evident as time passes and you continue onto the next leg of your journey—college and your life beyond. Sometimes, it is hard to see the benefit of all this education until you are out in the world living your life. Not only does education expand your perception of the world and others, as well as your part in it, but it enables you to become competitive in the job market and it will eventually allow you to use your skills, intellect and creativity to be a force in the world. Our greatest wish for you is to have your two feet solidly planted on this planet, feeling good about who you are and where you are going, using your amazing creative gifts and talents to support a quality of life that brings you deep satisfaction. Just know that your dad and I will ALWAYS be here for you, should you need us, cheering you on … as you climb your mountains in life.
We love you sweetheart! Congratulations to you and all the graduates of Sequim High School Class of 2011! YOU DID IT!

Halli Victoria Forsman, You have been our miracle since birth and we are so very proud of you and all of your accomplishments through the years. We knew from the Young Authors Conferences and Math Olympiad competitions in elementary school to the Future City engineering challenge in middle school and NASA’s Washington Aerospace Scholars in high school that no horizon is too far. Graduating from Peninsula College as a President’s Medalist for scholarly excellence and a member of Phi Theta Kappa is your latest tremendous achievement. You have excelled in every area you have attempted and we know you will continue doing great things with your life as you embark on your next adventure. Your professors at Central Washington University will be as pleased with your focus and determination as we, and every other teacher you have ever had the pleasure of learning from have been. Your bright smile, happy disposition and love of helping others are second to none. If we could have hand picked everything we wanted in a daughter, it would have been you. Your biggest fans and loudest cheering section will always be us.
With all our love, your Mom and Dad
Hannah Ada Geiger, We are so proud of you! You have come a long way from Haiti and seizures, to Alaska; and now a whole new life here. May God be with you as you continue your journey.

are ready to leave the nest. Your maturity, inquisitiveness, self-discipline, and sense of humor will serve you well as you enter college. But don’t trust in your own abilities, always seek the Lord in everything you do. He will guide and instruct you. Trust Him, stay rooted in Him, and He will make your paths straight before you. We love you deeply; He loves you even more. Remember Jeremiah 29:11, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Congratulations on a stellar high school career. It’s only a hint of what lies ahead. We can’t wait to see where life takes you!
With much love, Mom and Dad

With my love and prayers, Mom (and family)
When we moved to Sequim your freshman year, due to your shyness, it was hard for you to make new friends, so we became better friends. Then the next year when dad suddenly died, we became even closer friends. I have watched you grow from a shy young girl to a beautiful, competent young lady. I could never give enough thanks to the wonderful people who have come into your life to help

Shannon Robbins: Little Wise One Why God Made Little Girls God made the world with its towering trees, majestic mountains and restless seas, then paused and said, “It needs one more thing – someone to laugh and dance and sing. To walk in the woods and gather flowers. To commune with nature in quiet hours.” So God created little girls with laughing eyes and bouncing curls. With joyful hearts and infectious smiles, enchanting ways and feminine wiles. And when He’d completed the task He’d begun, He was pleased and proud of the job He’d done. For the dearest joys can all be found in a little girl’s love. We love you and are so proud of you!!!
