At first, Lindsey Leader, 10, wasn’t sure what to make of an albino skunk at the Sept. 28 Dungeness River Festival Festival. But Leader and classmates from Greywolf Elementary petted the stuffed skunk. “It kind of has a rough nose,” she said.

A propane tank explosion on Jan. 30 sank this boat, owned by 78-year-old Keith Bryant, in John Wayne Marina. Bryant died of injuries from the explosion nine days later.
