Reminders Attention PMPC & CJS major students graduating in Spring 2015, Summer 2015, and December 2015: The time is here to submit the core course registration form for Spring 2015. You must complete and submit the core course registration form at the link below in order to be applicable for the following core courses: PA330 PA410 PA470 PA480 If you are graduating in Spring 2015 you must submit this form for your major core courses, failure to do so will delay your graduation. If you have questions about this please visit your CJS or PMPC academic advisor.
This form will be open Monday 9/8/14 at 10:00 AM until Friday October 3rd at 3:00 PM. http://sgpp.arizona.edu/content/registration-forms Please only submit this form if you are graduating in Spring 2015, Summer 2015, or December 2015. Reminders Change of Majors The Fall 2014 deadline to change majors is Sept. 18th! If you would like to change your major to Criminal Justice Studies, BA in Law, Political Science, or Public Management & Policy follow this link to the online Change of Major session. *Change of major forms will not be accepted again until after priority registration.

Reminders INTERESTED IN LAW? The University of Arizona now offers a BACHELOR OF ARTS IN LAW. There’s still time to declare by the Fall deadline, September 18. For more information, JOIN US FOR PIZZA: Monday, September 8, 5:00 pm Student Union Agave Room (Level 4) Law Professor Rob Williams will show you how he plans to teach law majors to “think like a lawyer” and apply the type of critical thinking skills tested on the LSAT and first-year law school exams. Next semester you’ll learn how to analyze legal questions such as: Does a fan who catches a baseball but then loses it in a melee own the ball (worth $450,000)? Can a fiancée keep an engagement ring after calling off the wedding? Is a domain name stolen property? You will also hear about opportunities offered to law majors, including speaker events, a mentorship program, electives spanning a range of career fields, and the new 3+3 program which provides an accelerated path to a JD. The BA in Law is jointly offered by the SBS School of Government and Public Policy and the James E. Rogers College of Law. Reminders Dear Juniors and Seniors, We have partnered with Career Services to give our junior and senior majors access to Wildcat Joblink. Wildcat JobLink is a state-of-the-art career management tool, offering UA students access to jobs, internships, and a range of other services including campus interviewing and resume referrals. To access JobLink, please visit the Career Services website at https:// www.career.arizona.edu/joblink. All you need is your NETID and password to login and take advantage of these great services. Why is SGPP only funding juniors and seniors to have access to JobLink? The funding comes from SGPP Program Fees, which only our junior and senior majors pay. If you are a freshman or sophomore, you are welcome to register and pay the annual $5 fee out of pocket. Visit https:// www.career.arizona.edu/joblink to register. I will be a junior at the end of the current semester. When can I have access? SGPP will be requesting access for any students who have reached 60+ credits each semester after the census date (the 21st day of the semester). So, if you will have 60+ completed credits at the end of this semester, you will be granted access next semester after the census date. Job Opportunity PAID TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT CO-OP IBM/Tivoli at the UA Research Park Positions Available: IBM Technical Writer Co-op – Tivoli Storage Manager Minimum Qualifications: Must be a University of Arizona Student – Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior are accepted. Must have US citizenship. Must have own transportation to the IBM/Tivoli site at Kolb and I-10. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week. Co-op Program Overview: The Center for Student Involvement and Leadership (in the Arizona Student Unions) is accepting applications for paid Co-op positions on site at the IBM/Tivoli site at the UA Research Park (I-10 and Kolb). These positions involve work in testing, management, and development of computer software, data storage programs, and technical writing. Announcements The Graduate College encourages students to prepare for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) through formal or informal instruction and study. For those students seeking professional assistance, one option to consider is a workshop led by Michael Flynn, Executive Director of Grad Pros Educational Consulting. Mr. Flynn has facilitated GRE workshops on the UA campus since 2000 and has received consistently positive feedback. There are three components to this workshop. practice tests -- The course begins with a GRE practice test administered under simulated test conditions. Scores will be analyzed to determine areas of strength and weakness for each participant. One additional practice test will be taken in class, and another will be taken at home to familiarize students with the GRE's computer format. group instruction -- Test-taking strategies for the quantitative, verbal and writing sections of the GRE will be covered along with time management, stress/anxiety and other topics relating to test performance. Timed sections will be administered to assess individual strengths/weaknesses and to improve pacing. extra help from the instructor -- The instructor, Michael Flynn, is Executive Director of Grad Pros Educational Consulting and former admissions committee member at Harvard University and the UCSD School of Medicine. Extra help will be available during and after the workshop. Additional Information:
Dates: The Fall 2014 workshop is designed to be completed over 4 days. Students need to commit to attending all four days of the workshop. The workshop is held on the UA campus. Saturday, September 20 (9 AM to 5 PM)

B) UA alumni: indicate your graduation date and expected GRE test date. C) UA staff: indicate your title, department, and expected GRE test date. D) Community members: indicate your expected GRE test date. Class size is limited and registration is prioritized in the order indicated above. Please consider the interests of others and only request a seat in the workshop if you can fully commit to attending all four scheduled class meetings and plan to take the GRE soon after completing the workshop (within a month or so).
