Reminder Dear Juniors and Seniors,

We have partnered with Career Services to give our junior and senior majors access to Wildcat Joblink. Wildcat JobLink is a state-of-the-art career management tool, offering UA students access to jobs, internships, and a range of other services including campus interviewing and resume referrals.

To access JobLink, please visit the Career Services website at https:// www.career.arizona.edu/joblink. All you need is your NETID and password to login and take advantage of these great services.

Why is SGPP only funding juniors and seniors to have access to JobLink? The funding comes from SGPP Program Fees, which only our junior and senior majors pay. If you are a freshman or sophomore, you are welcome to register and pay the annual $5 fee out of pocket. Visit https://www.career.arizona.edu/joblink to register.

I will be a junior at the end of the current semester. When can I have access? SGPP will be requesting access for any students who have reached 60+ credits each semester after the census date (the 21st day of the semester). So, if you will have 60+ completed credits at the end of this semester, you will be granted access next semester after the census date. If you have any questions, please email ahackett@email.arizona.edu .

2017 West Coast Model EU February, 10-11 at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA Sign-up today! Interested in getting more experience in public speaking and negotiation skills? Do you want to know more about the European Union (EU) and slip into the role of a head of government from one of the 28 EU member states or EU institutions? UofA undergraduate students are now welcome to apply for the next West Coast Model EU, to be held February 10-11, 2017 at the University of Washington in Seattle. Space is limited and travel grants are available for selected SGPP participants. Undergraduate students who have taken or are currently enrolled in POL 452 are especially encouraged to apply by September 30, 2016. The Model EU is a real-time simulation of European Council summits in which member states are setting the general political directions and priorities of the EU. Teams of two undergraduate students play the roles of representatives of EU member state delegations. The 2017 West Coast Model EU simulates the Council summit during the upcoming presidency of Malta and features two concurrent summit negotiation sessions: 1) formal negotiations of 'Brexit' and 2) reforms of the EU's fiscal capacity. The 2017 Model EU is organized by the European Union Center of Excellence in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, and is co-sponsored by the Center for West European Studies and the Jackson School at the University of Washington. The goal of this simulation, in addition to acquiring in-depth knowledge about the EU, is to provide students with a forum in which to gain experience in public speaking and negotiation skills, to apply their research, organization and planning skills, and to meet with peers from a variety of schools throughout the U.S. and Canada while learning about teamwork and leadership. Please visit the 2017 West Coast Model EU web site for additional details: http://jsis.washington.edu/euc/meu. Who Can Participate The Model EU is open to undergraduate students from various schools in the U.S. and Canada. While many students who participate in the Model EU have some previous background in European Studies, most students are not EU specialists before signing up and students from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds are welcome. Please note that graduate students may not attend as team participants. Undergraduate students who have taken or are currently enrolled in POL 452 are especially encouraged to apply. How to Apply Submit a brief letter of motivation and country requests to Dr. Eva-Maria Maggi (evamaggi@email.arizona.edu). Participants can request to represent any EU member state. Please note that spots are limited and qualified candidates will be selected in early October. Applications are accepted until September 30, 2016. What Is Expected of Participants Students prepare for the Model EU by researching the issues to be negotiated and their country’s position on the selected issues. Participants are expected to produce and submit two documents prior to the conference: a position paper and draft resolution. Individuals are aso expected to actively participate in negotiations during the conference and attend several preparation meetings at the UofA prior to the conference. Conference Awards are given to individuals for their preparation, representation, and diplomacy. For questions about participation, preparation for the 2017 West Coast Model EU, please contact Dr. Eva-Maria Maggi evamaggi@email.arizona.edu
