SGPP Program Fees School of Government and Public Policy Program Fees Please note that Criminal Justice Studies, Political Science and Public Management and Policy majors in junior and senior standing, 60 Units, in SGPP a $450 program fee will be assessed each fall and spring semester until graduation. SGPP Law majors in junior and senior standing are charged a $900 program fee each fall and spring semester until graduation. Program fees are used for programs that provide student resources and experiences, including but not limited to: academic advising, scholarships, professional skill development, expanded internship opportunities, career networking, speaker series, and seminars. Reminder Dear Juniors and Seniors,
We have partnered with Career Services to give our junior and senior majors access to Wildcat Joblink. Wildcat JobLink is a state-of-the-art career management tool, offering UA students access to jobs, internships, and a range of other services including campus interviewing and resume referrals.
To access JobLink, please visit the Career Services website at https:// www.career.arizona.edu/joblink. All you need is your NETID and password to login and take advantage of these great services.
Why is SGPP only funding juniors and seniors to have access to JobLink? The funding comes from SGPP Program Fees, which only our junior and senior majors pay. If you are a freshman or sophomore, you are welcome to register and pay the annual $5 fee out of pocket. Visit https:// www.career.arizona.edu/joblink to register.
I will be a junior at the end of the current semester. When can I have access? SGPP will be requesting access for any students who have reached 60+ credits each semester after the census date (the 21st day of the semester). So, if you will have 60+ completed credits at the end of this semester, you will be granted access next semester after the census date. BE A DIGITAL CAMPAIGNER Work with one of our campaign teams to run a powerful digital campaign to help solve global warming, expand solar energy or protect clean water. You’ll write emails and campaign actions that you’ll send to hundreds of thousands of supporters; design and curate content for social media, and engage with our national community; coordinate with our field team of five to nine campaign organizers, and back them up with emails, web pages and digital strategy; develop partnerships and creative online tactics to build our audience and raise money; analyze the results of your work, and report on successes and failures; and keep your projects on track, hold people accountable to their deliverables, and communicate regularly with your team. Job Opportunities IBM-UA Co-Op Program; Leadership Programs Co-Op Administrator/ Technical Writer Dual Role Pay: $15 starting pay and merit increases after annual evaluations Minimum Qualifications: Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Arizona. Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Must have US citizenship or be authorized to work in the U.S. Must have their own transportation to the IBM/Tivoli site at Rita Road and I-10. Co-op Program Overview: The University of Arizona Leadership Programs is accepting applications for a paid Co-op Administrator to be employed both on site at the IBM/Tivoli site at the UA Research Park (I-10 and Rita Road) and at The University of Arizona. This position will oversee all IBM Co-Ops and serve as a liaison between Leadership Programs, IBM, and all CoOp students. Students who meet the qualifications are encouraged to apply for this position, which is offered through a special contractual partnership between IBM and The University of Arizona Leadership Programs. Job Description: This position has dual responsibilities as a Co-op Administrator and Technical Writer Co-Op. The responsibilities are evenly distributed 50/50, but workload can vary at times. The Co-Op Admin oversees all IBM Co-Ops in a leadership capacity, and serves as a liaison between UA Leadership, IBM Leadership and all Co-Ops. The Co-Op Admin role will greatly develop and improve your communication, leadership, and networking skills as you are the go-to person in the program. The Technical Writer works closely with a team of information development professionals, developers, testers and designers. The Technical Writer Co-Op will develop information topics for the IBM Knowledge Center, online help, and command line help for Spectrum products. The technical writer role will employ appropriate technical writing, editing, video and visual design skills, as required. They use mark-up language tools to create source content. They design and develop elements for user interface (UI), web, multimedia delivery, print, and other linear and non-linear information deliverables. Announcements Pride Alliance is hosting the 9th Annual “Out and Proud” ad project as a part of Coming Out Week 2015 Pride Alliance is hosting the 9th Annual “Out and Proud” ad project as a part of Coming Out Week 2015. This is a two-page center spread in the Daily Wildcat celebrating the out and proud LGBTQA+ and allied members of our university. We need you to help us reach our goal of beating last year's 1100 published names! Please send your name in today and get all your friends and colleagues to as well. We are especially hoping to collect the names of more allies than ever. It's very meaningful to publish your name as a LGBTQA+ student or as an ally so that we can continue to foster an inclusive environment on campus. Announcements Enroll in SPAN 101 or 102 Second 7 week session class You have the excellent opportunity to still enroll in a SPAN 101 or 102 for the second 7 week session class of this semester which begins 10/15/15. A student must a have placement to enroll in either one of these classes. Students concerned with current/higher placement should retake the placement exam.
