Since 68% of people I gave this questionnaire to don’t actually read music magazines this ruled out a big section of my audience so instead I would have to focus on the smaller portion of people who actually read it.
94% of people spend 0-£5 on music magazines per month, now since 68% of people do not read music magazines, I’m guessing a big portion of the 94% don’t spend any money on music magazines per month as they do not buy them.
45% of people who answered said they listen to pop music, so my music magazine would have to be mainly pop driven, but following that 28% of people listen to rock so I could give it an edgy rock twist to it.
70% of people said they spend 0-ÂŁ5 per month on music, yet 6% spend ÂŁ21+ so I would include adverts for new music and maybe even include the music charts for that month.
Since the highest percentage for this question was 32% on images, my magazine will include a lot of interesting images to make it more eye catching to the audience. It will also focus on interviews (29%) and articles (23%).
31% of people said they use Facebook regularly, so my magazine would include links to an interactive Facebook page, it would also include maybe different links to twitter (with 23%) and instagram (with 21%).
Since overall 80% of people do you go gigs/festivals I would post adverts in my magazine about upcoming gigs/festivals such as band nights and main festivals.
76% of the people who answered said they download their music rather than buy copies of it so I would show references and links to iTunes and other music download apps or sites.
One of the highest percentages was 5+ hours so it shows that music is obviously a big part of their lives so maybe this magazine would appeal to a wide audience.
Since 24% of people use a smartphone so I would make the magazine compatible with a smartphone and possibly put a code on to get exclusive offers and things with the magazine.
