PESONA BANDUNG RESIDENCE Mentor : Dewi Larasati S.T, M.T, P.hD AR 4090 Design Architecture Studio V
Pesona Bandung Residence is located in a high population area in Bandung. This residence is categorized as middle-up housing and middle-low apartment. The requirement of this task is to create a middle-up residence in the middle of high population and middle-low area in Bandung. This residence is designed to give a privacy for the resident but still trying to reduce the social gap from inside and outside the site. The main concept of the residence is to use buffer area to reduce the social gap. The buffer area is also use as commercial area, public area, and green area. Moreover, the residence is also designed pedestrian-friendly so that the resident can easier moving inside the residence. The green area can be used for public area too. The riverside area is maximized as green area to give resilience for the river area.
DESIGN PROCESS
The existing is located between two valleys and rivers in west and east side There is no potential view from the site. There is social gap surround the site between north area and south area. In the north is located middle-up residence and in the south is located middle low residence, traditional market, and public transportation stop. The riverside area is slum area. Most building surround the site consist of one story. There is still lack of utility system, social facility, and public facility surround the site.
SITE ANALYSIS
SITEPLAN The main issue of the design is to create a middle-up residence in the middle-low neighborhood. Hence, the border area of the site should be designed as a transition area from the neighborhood surroundings and the residence inside. Despite building a high wall or fence, the border designed as a public facility for maintain the urban society.
PRIVATE AREA Despite the public facility, there also needed a private facility for the resident only. The private facility is located in the middle area that can be accessed easily by all cluster. The main landed housing is dedicated for middle-up society. The house orientation decided by the extreme land slope and nearly north-south orientation. All orientation of the house designed same for the wayfinding.
In the west border area is located a small river. This riverside area is functioned as a private facility for the resident as a green park and riverside attraction, despite of become the border transition for the residence.
PUBLIC AREA The entrance area designed as a public facility that can be used together by the resident and society, so that it become the transition area between the site and the neighborhood with still maintain the urban society.
The retail area located in the border area between the site and neighborhood, so that the retail can be accessed both by the resident and the society. It makes the value of the retail become higher because the consumer of the retail doubled, not also from the resident.
The main laybay area from the residence is located in the south area of the site, which is near the existing market and public transport station. It makes this laybay also functioned as the public transport hub for the residence.
The vertical housing is dedicated for middle-low society, therefore located in the border south area, near the market. This area is also functioned as the transition area for the residence and the neighborhood surroundings.

The project is located in Soekarno Hatta, Bandung, with total area project around 13.000 m2. The environment is classified as a suburban area surrounded by offices and housing, so that the conditions around the hospital are not too dense, noisy, and traffic is not too high. But this condition causes the vehicle speed in front of the porject area to pass quite high. In addition, in the site there is a small river flow so it can be used for the landscape features of the site.
A woman with her role as a mother naturally has to has a healthy physical and psychological condition. This is because the condition of a mother will have a significant impact on the condition of the child. Therefore, we needs more concern to improve the women’s health by improving the health facilities for women. This hospital project classified as Special Hospital Type B (based of regulation by Ministry of Health in Indonesia). This project consist of three podium floor and four inpatient floor with total area around 29.000 m2. The mass of the building is formed using a rectangular base module that is arranged and smoothed at an angle. It is intended that the concept of arcing begins to emerge and can be explored again. The modules compiled are then adjusted to the needs of the building area to form a more massive shape. This shape is arranged vertically so that more upward, the building becomes more streamlined, and the remaining part of the building tower is back to using the initial module form. The resulting form gave a small balconies which can be used as healing garden. This is intended to support the green space area of the site in the building to respond to the environment around the building.
The project aims to improve health and nutrition services for women. With the aim of the project, the design purpose is to create a quality environment and space that is able to support the healing process. So the main criteria obtained from the design of this hospital for women is to design a hospital that can accommodate women’s needs that are manifested in a modern and flexible hospital design, which is intended to help the healing process. In addition the hospital must also comply with applicable standards, and have effective circulation. Coupled with the condition of the user who refers to a particular gender that is female, privacy level is important in the design of this hospital.
