If a student actually has a seizure, know the steps to helping them without hurting yourself or others.

Step 1: Move all students and desks/furniture away from student with seizure.

Step 2: Give the student room to seizetry not to touch them and DON’T hold them down.

Step 3: If possible, roll student to their side- this will prevent them from chocking if they throw up.

Step 4: Have someone time the seizures from the beginning.

Step 5: If possible, or after the seizure, hold the student’s head and try to keep them calm, most people panic following a seizure. If there are multiple people around, send someone to get a nurse or to call for help.
