WHAT’S On enfield libraries jan-mar 2019
hello! Welcome to the first guide to events and activities happening in Enfield’s Libraries! We have lots to keep you entertained over the next few months as we start 2019, whether you are looking for a winter read to get cosy with, or you fancy trying out a new activity as part of your resolutions for the new year. Our libraries have started many new clubs and activities to keep children entertained, if they are a keen reader or need some inspiration they can join our Wonderbooks and SuperReaders children’s book groups. If they would like to get creative, we have clubs involving loads of Lego which are run monthly. Our Tea and Chatter groups are proving to be very popular, as quite a few of our customers like to meet together to share ideas, tea and biscuits. To help you stay safe online, we have partnered with NatWest to bring you drop-in clinics to show you how to bank safely online and protect yourself against online fraud. If you are thinking there is something you can bring to our service, we are always looking for volunteers to help us set up new activities and groups- this could be an idea you are wishing to try out or a hobby you wish you had a space for. Our successful chess groups for all ages are a great example! If this sounds up your street please check out details of how to volunteer in this leaflet. Remember joining your local library is completely free! With your card you can borrow books, eBooks and eAudiobooks for free and CDs, DVDs and stories on CD for a small charge whenever you like. We also have a range of resources online for you to use, such as free courses to help you learn a new skill, like passing your driving theory test! We have an extensive range of Marvel comics which have just been added to our online offer through the RB Digital app. To keep up to date with all our latest news, please follow us on: twitter.com/enfieldlibrary facebook.com/enfieldlibrary instagram.com/enfieldlibraries
We’d love to see your pictures and hear your feedback. Our council webpage and online catalogue can be accessed here: www.enfield.gov.uk/libraries
