Funds that Support Instrumental Music Charlotte Braverman Music Enrichment Fund: Provides funding for the enrichment of the instrumental program. This includes, but is not limited to, group instrument lessons for disadvantaged middle and high school students who would not otherwise be able to afford instruction, work with guest conductors, clinics with composers, and master classes with professional musicians. Deep Hughes Bardenstein Evening of Jazz Fund: Provides an honorarium for a guest artist to perform at the annual Evening of Jazz at Shaker Heights High School. The artist is selected by the jazz faculty, in consultation with the fund founders. Jeffry E. Fox Memorial Fund: Supports students who are unable to afford their interest in music and provides for instrument rental, private music lessons, participation in camps and trips sponsored by the High School’s music program, and/or other similar needs as identified by the High School’s music program. In recent years, the Fox Fund has subsidized the costs of band trips for students who would not otherwise have been able to participate. Brian Hutton Memorial Fund: Provides financial assistance to deserving High school band participants to purchase/rent instruments or to cover travel expenses. In recent years, the Hutton Fund has subsidized the costs of band trips for students who would not otherwise have been able to participate. Donations to any of these funds are tax-deductible and are welcome at any time. Please send a check, indicating which fund you are supporting, made out to the Shaker Schools Foundation and mail to 15600 Parkland Drive, Shaker Heights, OH 44120. Your generosity provides items for each school that could not normally be purchased, along with scholarships for band trips.
