Students entering grades 6 - 9. Experienced specialists lead young musicians through a fast paced workshop of small group instruction, music theory and exposure to musical styles from classic marches to jazz to rock. Students develop their own technique and appreciation for solo and ensemble performance. A final concert is presented for family, friends and the community on the last day of camp. Students must provide their own instruments (except percussion and large instruments) and have completed at least one year of instruction. Campers attending full day must bring a lunch.
Freshmen will order their red Shaker Bands polo shirts (order form in the band packet) and will receive them the week of Marching Band Camp. The formal uniforms are provided by the school and will be distributed the week of Marching Band Camp.

Has your band student outgrown his/her concert attire? Consider donating clean and gently used white shirts, black pants, black skirts or black shoes to the band program. The band directors maintain a supply of these items for emergency use by SMS and Woodbury band members. If you would like to donate concert attire, simply send it to one of the band directors with your student.
