AGILITY 50, 60 AND 70 FRONT-DRAG FIXED-SPOOL REELS

Having a reel that packs muscle and guts is vitally important to any shore angler. A flimsy outfit that gives up when we lean on it can be disastrous and probably lead to a fishless session. Agility FD reels (FD stands for Front Drag) come in three sizes and are certainly more than capable of doing an efficient job on the beach or permanent structure.

Starting with the 50FD (not shown), this is the baby of the bunch and is perfect for those light lure or legering sessions. Small it may be, but you can bank on its strength and ability to help you out, even if you fish hostile territory where kelp and rocks pose a threat. Next in the range comes the 60FD. The trio of Agility 12, 20 and 30lb-class rods give superb lifting power. Features include zirconium oxide line guides, screw-up reel seat and double length fore-grip with flat sections front and back. The power comes from the bottom to middle sections tapering away to sporting tips. The 12lb-class rod is for bass fishing, wreck and reef pollack and wrasse.

Seven years in the making, this award-winning line is one of the strongest around and with a tiny diameter, it not only casts further, but will also cut through water and fast tides with ease. Carrying a smooth outer surface means that its abrasion-resistance qualities are superb – good news indeed if you are lure fishing around rough ground or kelp-filled venues.
