The dock was extended by about 10 acres after the Hull Dock Company was taken over by the North Eastern Railway, with work beginning in 1894. The work also included the construction of slipways for boat repair. The new dock, St. Andrew’s Dock Extension, was connected at the west end via a channel which the slipways were at the far west end..

The programme for the project is to design a small office home office (SOHO) concept. The concept offers series of rentable business units, cafe, offices, workshops for productions and artists studios allowing visitor participation, gallery and a public communal spaces.
In relation to the first factor, the city recently nominated as UK’s capital of culture by 2017 could gives upper hand in both as a tourist attraction and local interest. This will improves the city financials prompting an unprecendented level of attention and investment. Therefore, the brief includes develop an incremental approach, and investigate how the proposal might continue to adapt in response to changes in the surrounding city over a long time period.
DESIGN PROGRAMMEBRIEF
The use of the proposal comes together with its business plan. The proposal produces arts and productions as well as social events to bring the money in to help in maintaining the property. The proposal is to attract both tourist and local interests.
The second structure is formed of two volumes for the office and artist workshops. The office designed on the groun floor. while the artist studio will be allocated on the first floor. Then, the third structure is formed of three volumes of a gallery. These two structures placed close to each other as the pro gramme allowing visitor participation for respectective events. The gallery is the public cultural element in the programme. The gallery allows social events to take part in Hull. Each one of the structure designed to have a hierarchy characteric. The idea behind the double volume ceiling is to make a full use of the seaview. The big windows will capture a moment of serenity with viewing platforms are design to allow user to have a different hierarchy of eyesight.
The programme of the building primarily to develop a new settlement for the disused St. Andrews dock and surrounding site; however the building has a secondary use as means of cultural element addresses Hull’s 2017 status as the UK capital of cul Theture.brief for this programme was established from two key factors; the first factor is designing workspaces to give the oppor tunity for the Hull’s community and the second factor is the planning to relate to the Hull’s 2017 status as the UK capital of Theculture.first factor is the centre of the briefand its intentions; develop a series of workspaces, this can be interpreted in a number of ways and could constitute rentable business units, artists studios, workshops for production or office spaces. This approach could increase the employment opportunities in Hull. Hull is one of the UK’s most deprived cities with the lowest rate of em ployment, highest proportion of people claiming Job Seekers’ Alowwance and lowest average weekly wage.
The proposal aims to gives as much employment opportunity for the local and bring tourist industry to the area; follows with future development plan aims to bring people and business to the undeveloped areas that surround the site subsequently the attractions back in St. Andrews Dock.
The proposal is formed of three series of structures with inter-connected courtyards. The first structure is formed of three volumes allowing the series of rentable business units with semi enclose courtyard and a cafe. Moreover, the courtyard area is a public area used for a green space cum seating areas for visitor while enjoying the green environment. Each of the rentable business units gives the in and out views from the structure to allow sunlight to penetrate and brightens the structure.

The literature from “Social cohesion matters in health” suggest that Social cohesion is “the property by which the whole society, and individuals within, are bound together through the action of specific attitudes, behaviors, rules, and institutions, which rely on consensus rather than pure coercion” (Chuang, Y.C, et al, 2013).

ROOF PLAN 1:200 Integrating Biosolar Roof where green roof and solar power meets to achieve smart green roof infrastructure. Advantages of using this technol ogy contributes in solar photovoltaic to perform more efficiently when installed over green roof system. Solar panels loses its efficiency when it is too hot, while green roof elements gives the cooling effect. Therefore, combining the two technologies complementing each performances where green roof system can help keep the am bient temperature which is the best temperature for solar panels to work taking into accounts the arid climate in Nouakchott.

The central courtyard is a binding factor between two programs. The courtyard is connected to the elevated staircase that can act as a auditorium or flexible area where people can sit and do their work. The courtyard is open and it is walkable to the green roof at the rear of the building where it gives a view towards the uni versity and Sheikh Zayed Solar Plant. The open concept allows the wind to ventilate the courtyard naturally. Furthermore, the open ness allow the visitor to view the sky when they enter the building.

FUTURE RESILIENCE STRATEGY DESIGN PROPOSAL
The project’s resilience strategy for the future growth of the immediate neighbourhood context is to create a mini grid for the future residential development adjacent to the site. The project aims to strengthen the local economy. The residential houses as well as the university in the neighbourhood context will be connected to the hub. The hub also offers the community to get the drinking water source as well as an electric car charging station when the electric vehicles penetrate the Mauritanian market.
