HEALTHY ON A BUDGET
Eating healthy doesn’t have to be expensive. Many people believe that they can either eat foods that are healthy or foods that are inexpensive. However, with the proper preparation and planning, it is possible to save money while also eating healthy. If you’re interested in creating meals that are not only affordable but also healthy, consider following this three-step process next time you head to the grocery store:
1 2 3
Make a Plan Before You Shop If you schedule your meals and make a budget, you'll be less likely to buy unnecessary groceries.
Purchase the Right Groceries When you're at the grocery store, pick out groceries that will fill you up and aren't too costly. To save money, purchase generic brands, which are often just as good as the name brands, and load up on whole foods and frozen and canned foods to reduce waste.
Make Your Meals Budget-Friendly When preparing your favorite dishes, think about the different ways you can make them budgetfriendly. Try simplifying the ingredients you use, reducing the meat in your recipe, and eating all of your leftovers. Although eating healthy on a budget isn’t always the easiest thing to do, there are certain steps you can take to watch your wallet and your weight. Stop by Mazopiya, located at 2571 Credit Union Drive, and pick up some natural, organic ingredients that won’t break the bank for your next meal! Learn more at mazopiya.com.
