Wondering about joining in on the JOY as a volunteer at Joyful Place? Here are some frequently asked questions that hopefully will encourage you to join us.

Q. I am unable to commit to volunteering on a regular basis. Can I still help?

A. Absolutely. We know that people have busy schedules, we welcome volunteers at any time convenient for them.

Q. I don’t have any experience working with people with memory concerns. How do I know if I’d like to do this?

A. No experience is needed. We love volunteers with a gift of “gab”, and joyful hearts. Join us for a day and give us a try.

Q. I am not able to volunteer in person. What else can I do to help?

A. You can pray for our ministry, donate supplies, or sponsor events, coordinate with local businesses for lunch donations.

Q. I use a walker, can I still volunteer?

A. Absolutely! We have volunteer tasks that can be done sitting down and we have accessible bathrooms at Cross Corner.

Q. What is the best way to find out more about Joyful Place Respite?

A. Call Leigh or speak to any of our fabulous volunteers about their experiences. You can also stop by on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-2 to see us in action.

Q. Isn’t is sad to see to be around people with Alzheimer’s disease?

A. It can be sad, but at Joyful Place our goal is to create a Joyful Place for everyone. Volunteers often express that spending time at Joyful Place is a highlight of their week.
