About Shalva Shalva, The Israel Association for Care and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities provides an allencompassing range of services for 2,000 individuals from infancy to adulthood and their families. Shalva's life cycle programming includes early intervention therapies, inclusive educational frameworks, social and recreational activities, employment training and independent living, as well as respite and family support. Shalva gives equal access and opportunity to all participants regardless of religion, ethnic background, or financial capability. Shalva empowers and enables families to raise their children with disabilities within the family framework; and partners with government, academic, and cultural institutions to create new opportunities for individuals with disabilities to be included as contributing members of society. Shalva's research collaborations, sharing of knowledge, and inclusion initiatives advance disability care globally and impact the lives of individuals and communities around the world.
Standards of Management and Partnerships Each of Shalva’s programs are operated in partnership with Israeli government ministries, authorized to provide professional care for the entire disability spectrum. Shalva has been distinguished with several prizes and endorsements for its pioneering program development. In 2018 Shalva was awarded consultative status to the United Nations, designated to provide consultation and guidance on disability issues. Shalva’s management standards continue to be recognized by the ISO 9001/2008 certification and Midot’s Seal for Outstanding Effectiveness. Shalva's financial accountability and transparency have merited a four-star rating on Charity Navigator and have been recognized with Platinum status by GuideStar.

Shalva National Center Campus
Every detail of the Shalva National Center was designed with intention to optimally advance Shalva's programs and welcome the broader community into the world of inclusion. The center is a model of excellence and a beacon of hope. The Shalva National Center's main building is the primary location of Shalva's programs and community initiatives. The 220,000 square foot, eleven story structure is comprised of five wings as well as outdoor terraces throughout the building. The building houses some of the largest and most advanced disability accessible facilities in Israel as well as state-of-the-art therapy rooms, classrooms, and activity rooms. The building's colorful and lively interior design includes hand painted and glass murals on every floor and signature art installations by Israeli artists Menashe Kadishman and David Gerstein. Surrounding the main building in Shalva's national Park for Inclusion which includes three inclusive playground areas and six acres of landscaped parks. In addition to Shalva's 2,000 program participants and their family members, the Shalva national center is visited by approximately 200,000 individuals from the broader community throughout the year who come to dine at the Shalva Café, tour the programs, participate in conferences, or attend private and community events. The Shalva National Center Campus serves as a model for disability care and inclusion, a welcoming home for individuals with disabilities and their families, and a source of inspiration and pride to all who enter.

National Crisis Center
The Shalva National Center is structurally designed with the intention of serving as a National Crisis Center for people with disabilities in times of war. Shalva has expansive disability accessible bomb shelters and a completely underground convertible shelter for long-term stay for up to 1,2000 individuals. An action plan involving immediate implementation of country-wide transportation, hundreds of trained volunteers, and medical supplies has been developed in partnership with the IDF and the Israeli Government's Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Services. Shalva's National crisis Center is an unprecedented and unique initiative that prioritizes the safety and security of Israel's citizens with disabilities. Wing
The Shalva National Center's architectural design divides the main building into five wings which serve both practical and aesthetic purposes. On each floor, the wings serve a unique purpose that contributes to the rehabilitative experience of each program; individual respite apartments on the fourth floor, Me and My Mommy therapy clusters on the fifth floor, and classrooms on the sixth and seventh floors. The separate sections created by the wings on each respective floor enables Shalva's programs to provide rehabilitative care for hundreds of children simultaneously without compromising the optimal context of an intimate and supportive environment. Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool The semi-Olympic sized swimming pool is located in Shalva's expansive, disability accessible fitness complex and is utilized on a daily basis for recreational, instructional as well as hydrotherapy purposes. Hydrotherapy is a central component of Shalva’s therapeutic curriculum and is tailored to meet the needs of various ages and stages of development, catering to children with disabilities from infancy to adulthood. The water environment allows for individuals with limited mobility to improve diminishing muscle tone without the constraints of gravity and body mass. Independent Living in the Community Apartment Shalva’s Independent Living in the Community program offers adults with disabilities the opportunity to build their futures with dignity, knowing they have the stability and support of having a permanent residence. Shalva offers high quality living accommodations, a comprehensive program structure, as well as individualized care to maximize each resident’s potential for independence. Enveloped by professional and social support, the residents foster cohesive family-like relationships and successful integration into community life. Each independent living apartment has five-six residents, all belonging to the same gender, disability category, and age range. Leisure and Activity Center Floor The Leisure and Activity Center houses several rehabilitative and recreational facilities; including a drama room, music room, art studio, animal therapy room, a soft play area designed for older children, as well as an oral health clinic. The floor also has twenty-two activity rooms and is home to Shalva's After School Activity Center program which benefits over 250 children and teenagers ages 6-21 on a daily basis. Enveloped by an empowering and inclusive social network, children with disabilities enjoy an array of recreational activities that are geared toward advancing independence and practicing life skills. Commercial Kitchen
Shalva's kitchen provides over 1,000 meals to children and adults with disabilities who participate in Shava's rehabilitative programs on a daily basis. The primary goal of the food and nutrition program is to ensure that the individuals in Shalva’s direct care benefit from proper nutrition so they can optimally lead healthy and thriving lives. The program is operated by a staff of chefs and dietitians who create a daily menu that caters to the dietary needs and restrictions of the beneficiaries. The food and nutrition program plays an especially critical contribution to their daily nutritional content as well as their general health and wellbeing. Naming dedication $750,000
Founders Pillars
(Kadishman Sculpture)
"Divine Utterances" by Israel prize laureate Menashe Kadishman depicts the artist's vision of social inclusion. Bursting with dynamic colors and patterns, each of the sculpture’s ten pillars represents one of the ten divine utterances in the biblical creation of the world. The large pillars/ figures surround one smaller figure which represents the child with disabilities, adorned with the artist's original sheep signature. The sculpture relays a message that all individuals are worthy of being embraced as beautiful and important contributors to the world community. Naming dedication $360,000
Administration Wing
Shalva's Administration Wing is comprised of the offices and meeting rooms utilized by Shalva's executive team; including Shalva's Founder and President, Global Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of Programming. Me and My Mommy Pavilion and Therapy Rooms Me and My Mommy is a one-on-one early intervention therapy program for infants with disabilities and their parents.
