Section A | Opening Note AIESEC In Jalandhar has reached a point where the future seems a bit blur, We really don't know what the future holds all that we know is we have these bunch of 100 or more individuals, The only thing that can make us stronger day by day is not fighting with each other but Coming Together. People make predictions i don’t believe in them. They Say The odds can’t be achieved i don't believe in them. The Key to your destiny is in your hands and nobody can say what is right what is wrong for you, Nobody can make your decision, Its You Who Chose What You Want to be. But Remember Alone people have tried to be great but greatness have come to those who have worked Together. I have dreamt of a state which defines AIESEC, I have dreamt of state which has no boundaries but is surrounded by passion, ambition, commitment, togetherness and purity. Since the day I joined AIESEC, I was told, AIESEC is a place where dreams turn into a reality and today I believe it time for us to unite and ignite our dreams, its time to live every bit of them, its time to turn them in to reality. But someone rightly said “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.” And thus It’s time to dream as one It’s time to share our dreams It’s time to turn them in to a reality. AIESEC In Jalandhar Its Time to Stand Together Because we are

Strong Together Stronger Forever A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.

Section C | AIESEC Experience List all positions held in AIESEC along with duration of the role. Also briefly elaborate on your contribution performance, as well as the main learning you derived from each role. OC Jalandhar Recruitments - February-April 2011

Volunteer OC Jalandhar Recruitments - February-April 2011 Its Better to be late than never, Theres Always a First Time to everything. Sold more than 100 Forms as a volunteer. This was my first interaction with AIESEC. I learnt how this organization carries one of its most important function i.e. recruitments. I learnt how group discussions and interviews are taken. Saw a purpose and realized my Why In This Organization.

Team Leader, Projects & International Relations-June-September 2011 Its Time to be responsible not just for yourself but for the experience of others as well Raise 20 Forms Matched more than 15 Interns Handled 4 Projects with more than 15 Interns Got 2 CEEDer For LC & MC, Conducted an event (Anti-Smoking Rally).  Client Management, handling the Project Partner and Intern takers.  Trainee Management  Selling and Marketing skills  Crisis Management  Multi Tasking  Project Management and delivery  Organizational knowledge and time management were my biggest learnings here, besides effective troubleshooting  Creating a balance between profession and personal life.  International Relations and Branding.  Event Management.

Working for something you want is one thing but not the only thing, till the time you are not responsible of doing something till the time responsibility is not given you just don’t do things perfectly. Sold many forms, also made new AMs under me, this was an Innovation trough which i reached up to more than 4 colleges at the same time.  Sales and Marketing  Branding AIESEC In Jalandhar in the student sector  Communication skills  Developed a new belief in AIESEC while selling forms and sharing AIESEC Success Stories with others.

Team Member, Projects & International Relations - May 2011 We all need some education! Although this was a very small role of not more than 10 days but it was worth mentioning because this was the time when i learnt a lot about the organization as whole the way we do it and what we do. This was the most challenging time in my AIESEC Career as this was the phase that was to define my future in this organization as I filled my TL application with 0 knowledge about the department and these 10 days could make me Team Leader & the next Vice President.  I Went on various Appointments.  Cracked an Yearly LC-LC partnership with LC Kyiv,  Ukraine. Learnt basic RMR  Trainee Management  International Relations and Branding

Its Not The Destination But The Journey that Matters.

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar OC Sangharsh, Jalandhar - July 2011 Impact is not How big You Make it but how deep you create it. This was one my first LC Event the whole Idea have been designed by me & VP ER (Abay Kannaw), It was not just an event it was creating a deep impact in the lives of many people if not any other but all the AIESECers & Interns present during the 6 days of the event. Cleaning Bus stand when i never used to pick even a thing at my own house, I saw a transformation in me & Many others.  Event Planning & Strategizing  Management of Event, Stakeholders & Logistics  Improvisation & Problem Solving

EBC Global Village (Viva Collage) - September 2012 Nothing is Big or Small, Every Event has an equal and significant Importance Delivered a Successful event from our side, The Crowd was less but that was a uncontrollable factor, Working under strict Timelines

Team Leader, Projects & International Relations - OctoberDecember 2011 There are times when you learn certain things but then there are times learning is over and Learning seems not good enough, This time is about perfecting what you are for what you want to be. This was the time when we had to take a Bigger leap and set the grounds for 2012, We organized first projects event in Ludhiana Green Rally, I developed membership to take my position as TLs in future and that was the biggest contribution i could make yes we did RMR but i understood that this was not why this organization was solely meant for, We looked at the bigger picture for AIESEC In Jalandhar.  Understanding core processes of the Organization, working towards achieving the organization goals.  Mentorship and People Management  Inducting batch of new Recruits  Effective & Efficient Time Management  Stakeholder management  Self reflection and introspection  Soft skills and member management.

Vice President, Global Community Development Projects - January 2012 - Present “If not the money, there are only two things that can keeps volunteers motivated, the cause it self, and the people of the organization who have in actuality kept the cause extant” - Steven Bourne This Is something which can not be judged tangibly because in a role of Vice Presidents you need to focus on Intangible aspects more than tangible.  Sustainable exchange with my department ! Member retention and member development, creating leaders  Contribution towards LCs planning and strategizing  Innovations and new initiatives introduced in the local chapter,  Innovative New Projects Introduced throughout the year,  Gave AIESEC In Jalandhar its very own BCP at JNC,  Highest Performing Department with most diverse membership.  Collaboration with various LCs  Communication skills, how to transfer a message in the best possible way  Innovation and Initiative taking, finding ways to improving things and turning plans into reality.  Portfolio planning and strategizing: building a base for the portfolio  Department administration  Stakeholder management and engagement  Innovations and initiatives  Understanding the present need of the LC.  Importance of timelines  Performing under pressure.  Prioritizing and executing things.  Culture enhancement  Partnerships & Collaboration

Its Time To Turn Dreams Into Reality

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar EBC Jalandhar Recruitments - February-March 2012

EBC Jagriti - July & October 2012

Sometimes You need to go back from where you start your Journey, Going Back Doest always mean that you are going down sometimes its just about getting into bigger shoes to look at the bigger picture and achieve more than what you did last time.

“I learnt that it takes not only practical and effective planning but a group of dedicated and resourceful individuals to pull off a flawless event on a large scale.”

This was another challenging Experience i had, My OC sold 300 Forms which is a very big thing to do in Jalandhar Colleges look at the fact that we dint had permission from a single college and we just had 2 weeks to complete the recruitments.

 Planning and strategizing macro scale event  Event Management logistics, stakeholders Creating the kind of impact that is required to be made by AIESEC, 400 Women Impacted In July Cycle & 600 in October Cycle. EBC Jalandhar Recruitments - September-November 2012

 Working under pressure  Team and people management  Selling, Marketing & Advertising  Delegation and Trust, During recruitment I trusted the OC and OCP’s with a lot of work and responsibilities and gave a lot of space to them for the same which proved to be a very successful decision.

Since this was my second time as EBC Recruitment i dint learn too many great new things but i just perfected what i had learnt before.

Conference Manager October Lcong

National Support Team iGCDP IM AIESEC India - August 2012 - Present

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar

What have been your main achievements and non-achievements in AIESEC in the past? (Mention a max of three each)

Achievements: Completing Commitments on my EB Application: I always Have a Habit to ask myself wether Am I eligible enough to stand for this Position. Before sitting down and writing my LOI i went through my EB application. Something which i noticed over there was that i had actually completed each n everything what was written over there let it be in AIESEC or Outside AIESEC. In AIESEC I had written allot of things my focus areas, etc. I personally find that as my biggest achievement. All the things not only the exchange targets have been achieved. BCP in National Association: I always wanted to make a BCP in the national association at this JNC when one of my project was recognized that was the time i really felt that yes we have something to look forward to and we are creating the impact that we always wanted to make. I know what kind of inputs i had to make, I had to deviate from the national JD and create something of my own. Creating a GCDP + GIP job role is now something which is being promoted in whole AIESEC India and that was the best thing that could have ever happen to me. National Support Team: Since the time i hear my Mentors story i always wanted to be a NST, I couldn't make it in June in the NST Team of AIESEC India but dreams do come true i became an NST in August for iGCDP Commission although it got announced in October but that was something that really dint matter to me. It was the Learning and Responsibility that i had always been looking up for.

Non-Achievements: Project Women Empowerment: This one of the biggest non achievement i had, I never make excuses and i accept this failure which i had in my VP term. The major reason to his was that the project structure which worked really well for the other Projects dint work out so well for this one, Secondly the project partners backing out at the last moment, Thirdly there were logistical issues. Internship: This one of the biggest regret i have today, I have personally not experienced one of the core product of AIESEC that i offer to so many interns. Although one of the reason is that since the day i joined AIESEC i couldn’t get even a single chance but ill make sure that my AIESEC experience doesn't end without Exchange.

These Achievements and Non-achievements have been a learning experience throughout its because of these what i am today. I have seen a substantial growth within me as a member, Leader and as a person. I have become more matured with my AIESEC experience.

List the Local/ National/ International conferences you have attended and in what capacity.

Failure is that part of life that teaches you more than when win.

Summarize your AIESEC experience, especially covering your biggest take-backs from the organization. AIESEC Experience: I have answered this in Question 1, Section C

My Biggest Take-back from AIESEC: People Skills Values Working Culture Knowledge Global Prospect Leadership Skills and the experience has not ended yet and theres much more to come.

Defining AIESEC in Simple Words: AIESEC Is Fun

Also I can Write this in the following lines: I am Having the time of my life And i never felt this way before And I swear could never get anywhere else. That is the reason why i & many other people keep on sticking to this organization.

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar

Section D | Motivation Why did you decide to run for LCP of AIESEC In Jalandhar? What makes you best suited for this role? To be Very Honest I never Thought i would apply for LCP ever, but Now that i am about to end my VP Term and my NST Term I feel i am Empowered and motivated i see a reason, i see a purpose big enough for AIESEC In Jalandhar, I feel now is the time to make it large. Its the time we start Dreaming Big, Its the time we start being what we actually Want to be “To Be The Best & Nothing Less”. For me it has never just been about AIESEC my purpose in this organization have always been bigger. For Me Its Not just about AIESEC In Jalandhar its about Jalandhar, Its Just Not About AIESEC India its about India. One of the biggest reason i see why i should be applying for this prestigious position is that i am from Jalandhar i have spent a considerable time here and i know this city, its capabilities and opportunities really well. I see a great potential in jalandhar market of which we have capitalized not more than 10%. I feel today, I am well equipped with the right knowledge and motivation to take this LC forward in 2013 considering I have had experiences inside & Outside AIESEC. In the last 4 months I have been actively involved in various MC activities being on the NST and responsible for Information Management for iGCDP Commission.

I Have Had an Intense Experience, I Have seen AIESEC In Jalandhar in the worst and the best times, I have experienced almost all the opportunities which AIESEC as an Organization Give to an Individual & Its the right time “I GIVE BACK WHAT I HAVE RECEIVED”. Another Very Selfish reason why i want to be the LCP is I want to see myself in AIESEC India MC in 2014-15. I remember JNC 2011 at the time of MC Discharge Every LC Picked there leaders on chairs and brought them home i Cried that time because we had no one to pick, I want to be that person. At NLS 2012 we stood up 52 times to clap for LC who won i want at NLS 2014 all the LCs should stand up for us at least 10 times.

Pride makes us do things well, but it is love that makes us do them to perfection, My Love for this country & AIESEC is much more than i can ever explain.

Before answering this Question i opened my EB Application to check what i had written there at that point of time and i found out i have achieved everything which was written there. AIESEC Is an organization which more than anything else Teaches You management & i am not talking about management as in a particular thing but it teaches you Management of Life and the ability to look at any challenge in the eyes & Say Bring It On. An LCP experience would be ideal ground for me to understand the dynamics of an organization with such huge operations and with such ambitious and diverse membership. Being LCP is like being a CEO of a company where you are the end responsible for anything and everything that happens in the organization may it be the culture shift or the performance change. Iâ€&#x;m only 22 and leading a local chapter enriched high performance and rich culture would not be a easy job. Being LCP requires for you to be visionary, to be passionate, to be value driven, to be inspiring and still be a learner, traits which are hard to master and which are useful to any person who wants to be an entrepreneur. As they say AIESEC is a practical MBA. While I learn all this AIESEC would bring along new challenges to learn from and I would still be doing what Iâ€&#x;m passionate about i.e. AIESEC.

What makes you feel happy? Who are you inspired by? Which fictional Character would you relate yourself to & why? What Makes Me Happy:

As a person i am always happy but there is a difference between happiness and sense of accomplishment, you are Really happy only when you feel that sense of Accomplishment only when:

Volunteers Generally Do Not Have Time They Have A Heart.

I Get What I really wanted and i know i have actually worked hard to get it. I See a Smile on the Face of my parents and i know i am the reason Behind it. I See my members look up to me. When my members teach me something.

Who Inspires Me: There are many people who have inspired me in every phase of life. There is no one person or a thing that have inspired me to be what i am today. Every person has one or the other quality, i just keep learning something or the other from everyone. No Human is perfect and in order to be perfect you need to open your mind to various possibilities and keep on learning & Getting inspired. I Inspire Myself At Times. How’s your family’s and friend’s level of involvement with AIESEC? Are they aware that you are applying to this position? Do they support you being in AIESEC? Would they support you being LCP? My Friends: They have always understood and supported me with AIESEC and are happy with what i am doing. My Parents: My dad was the first person who pushed to apply for LCP of AIESEC In Jalandhar he also knows that i will be applying for MC after this and he is happy with that too. Its not difficult to make your parents & Friends look trough AIESEC you just need the right way.

You Need to find a reason for yourself and just need to show that to others.

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar

What will you be doing outside of AIESEC in 2012? How much time do you intend on investing in being LCP? Are you committed to doing what it takes to take the LC forward (including late meetings, working at nights and on the weekends, going to conferences)? Time Commitment: Academics: No Time Commitments I have exams twice for which i will be available at any point of time if i am required, Need to go for 6 days to delhi for Six Sigma. Personal: Ill be in jalandhar whole of the time so no time commitment at all. Ideally a leader doesn’t have time specifications, a leader have to be available for your team 24*7, 365 days. And I am ready for such commitment. In addition working in an organization such as AIESEC I have learnt how to manage my time well. I understand the fact if i become LCP i have to dedicate the whole of next year to AIESEC In Jalandhar and i am all set for it, I am free the whole of next year and i guess that makes me the best candidate for this position.

Ill Be Going To Each n Every Conference, I am available for every meeting at any given time.

Have you been acting as a leadership role model? What is your leadership style? Please demonstrate your answer with examples of behavior you’ve had throughout the year 2012. I would define my “I Strongly believe that in order to be a good leader leadership style as directive. I like to give the subordinates specific orders and make it clear what is expected of them. My main focus is always planning, organizing controlling and coordinating the activities of my members. I always Lead From Front according to me Leading By Example is the only way you can Lead. I always take Listen to logical opinions. I love Taking Feedbacks. My Approach have always been to give Open Space to every team member for Innovation & Speak Whatever he may want to. I Have the ability to Put Right Man For The Right Job, I Believe in playing to the core strengths of every person in a team. believe in Team Work & Coordination.

Looking back at the last year i found out that i you need to be a good follower” have been a person who have been always standing up for my team (EB & Project). I believe i have been a great team member and a leader. I always let people speak what they wanted to. In My department there always have been a trend where the TLs are the one that take decisions and not the other way round. I Have a very big membership throughout the year from various colleges around the city and not just from LPU, which actually helped me to become a better leader and added too much to my leadership experience. Another fact that i am proud of is no one left my department because the dint understand AIESEC or dint relate to it they left only in case of there personal issues.

Looking at the Above Points i can PROUDLY SAY yes i have been a Leadership role model throughout the year.

Leadership is not a Part Time Job. You Need to be there for every member 24*7, 365 Days.

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar

Section E | Organizational Analysis Why and how is AIESEC relevant to the world today? Awesome Question: As soon as i red this question there were 2 things that strike my mind. 1) Are We Relevant in the world today 2) Are we trying to be relevant. It was a very confusing thought but with a simple answer. Yes AIESEC Is Relevant in the World but i am not sure if we are relevant today. Yes we want to be and i am sure we will be relevant. Why: The reason for the existence of AIESEC on the world is to contribute to a better world. Purpose of AIESEC is to create a positive impact on our societies by developing change agents who would contribute to that vision. Therefore it is very important for AIESEC to refresh constantly what we are aiming to achieve in the society and to improve the activities accordingly in order to increase our relevance and to maximize our impact. How:

Social Relevance for an NGO Social Relevance for AIESECers Evolving of the global direction focus on the individual, not directly on impact on the society AIESEC Produces best develop people in a values based way Our members see contribution they are making through their work We Produce Ethical Leaders

What is your understanding of the AIESEC way? What does it primarily tell us about?

Was First defined at the early stages of the organization in 1948, Since then It has evolved but has never changed it has only Evolved with time. The Values the Vision still remains the same even after 64 Years.

We Can Never Do Volunteer Services Unless Its backed with Solid Reason, Mission & Vision.

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar This tell us The Power Of AIESEC Way. The description of a ‘Way’ is the explanation of what makes an organization distinct from others based on what it is and how it does things. THE AIESEC WAY gives answers to questions like:

What is AIESEC? What do we envision? What is our impact? In what way do we make that impact possible? THE AIESEC WAY is NOT a bunch of nice statements. It is NOT something to learn and then forget about. It tells us what to DO (as an LC, as a Team, as a person) and how to BEHAVE. Therefore it is not just a reading material; it gives direction to our actions. We should constantly remind ourselves of THE AIESEC WAY. It is important that we are able to link our daily work (whether this is matching, organizing an activity or receiving training) with AIESEC’s ideals. AIESEC way is not a rocket science or any other complex science theory. Like every organization has its own way and approach towards certain things and a set of values that organization carry towards the society. Same way in AIESEC, we have AIESEC way which defines what is AIESEC? What we envision, Our Impact, the way we do it, our values.

What do you understand by the Global Learning Environment? Please list out examples of each element of the GLE that we as AIESEC in Jalandhar’s members go through every day. Individual Discovery & Reflection: TMP/TLP They Follow Various Processes of AIESEC such as RMR, in this process they get to know their strengths & Weaknesses and also realize what they are good in and what they would like to do in Life.

Team experience: Experiences in OC, Departments, Various teams. Team Meets/LCMs/MBMs/EBMs This an experience which every member from AIESEC In Jalandhar have taken.

Mentoring: This is a continuous process which keeps on going throughout the organization. Members take Guidance from the their TLs, Their Co Members, EB, LCP and this keeps on going this way.

Learning circles: Attending Local committee meeting where members take part in several discussions and activities based on certain issues.

Every Organization Needs to backed with Process to achieve its

What is your understanding of the six developmental blocs of AIESEC India? Why do you think they are essential? Please go one by one. Expanding AIESEC Network in India: To be relevant as an organization and create maximum Impact we need to increase our outreach. Virtually expanding our reach via EwA. Expanding the AIESEC network will help us to reach out to the maximum people via university and city based expansion for the growth of OGX. Financial Sustainability driving growth: Any Organization needs to be sustainable to grow in future. Operations cannot be run smoothly if the organization is financially sustainable. If our every program is financially sustainable across all the LC’s in AIESEC India, Investment can be made into programs growth which will ultimately lead to higher revenue. Collaborations across sectors: Collaboration is needed not just between the LCs but also across various other organizations specially the Government sector as with the help of external organizations are products can be more credible and also it increase the credibility of the organization as a whole. Brand & Information Management: Branding is something which gives an organization creditability and identity of its own. Information Management is relevant because AIESEC is an organization where the leadership body of every hierarchy changes every year and every organization needs to have their previous record save. . Also we need to document impact which we are creating for being relevant to the society . Showcasing impact through documents stored to brand AIESEC internally as well as externally. Legalization: Legalization is important as an organization like AIESEC which is growing at such a pace, in India and if we want to keep on expanding over geographically as well as operationally we need to have a Verified document of existence. Program delivery efficiency: Programme Delivery efficiency is important because we need to provide a High Quality AIESEC Experience to each and every stakeholder. Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar

Mention any 2 problems that the cities in Punjab are facing. How can AIESEC contribute to solving these problems? Although there are many problems which are worth mentioning but i would like to talk not about the problems but about the solution oriented problems i would like to tell the problems which if i solved would eliminate each and every problem that is there in the cities of Punjab.

Education: Although Punjab has a good Education system in comparison to a lot of states but the problem is people in Punjab are Literate and not educated still there are a few places where education is not considered important. All the educated people go out of country or to metro cities and thus the cream of punjab does not stay back to do something about the state. event the crime rate in punjab is increasing day by day. AIESEC can contribute a lot in this situation with its Global Community Development Programme Our Interns can create awareness in the people of Punjab regarding various issues.

Youth Empowerment: This is another problem the cities in Punjab are facing today, even if they are Literate and educated thy are not empowered they are not ready to take a step towards a better future all they care about is their personal growth and personal issues they are not ready to take a step to improve the society. AIESEC can help a lot by its TMP/TLP, Youth empowerment & GCDP Programme, there are some student run organizations who want to do something for the society the problem is they do not know the right way and they are not structured enough to create a massive Impact. We need to bring these People together.

Even though AIESEC has been in the world for 64 years, its relevance and recognition is still small, comparing to its high potential. What are the main stakeholders of AIESEC in Jalandhar? How is the relationship that AIESEC has built with them? Evaluate the positioning of AIESEC with these partners and stakeholders. How will you improve this relationship? AIESEC is Huge Organization and What We Do & Why We do is totally aligned with world issues but still the relevance & Recognition is strong. The major reason for this is that we fail to showcase our Impact. To Gain respect we need to be just not relevant but also emerge as a credible brand. We just don’t need to be associated with credible brands but also we need to collaborate

To Be relevant you dont have to think you just need to get up and start working for what you want.

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar with them. We need to stop measuring impact on the basis of exchange numbers. The first few steps towards it have already been taken, now we just need to pioneer it.

Our Stakeholders: Interns: These are the main stakeholders we have the major problem we face with interns are their involvement in LC. Action Steps: Provision of an additional Team Leader/Member Role of AIESEC XP. Regular activities to engage them consistently, with the Local Committee. Regular Feedbacks from all the interns in order to enhance their experience. EP Conferences for all the interns. In This conference we will help the EPs Connect with AIESEC so that when they go back they join the Sending LCs

Returned EPs: Reintegration of all the returned EPs Good Preparation of EPs before realization Additional role of TL AIESEC Exp. & Delivery - taking care of EP's Experiences. Showcasing the Impact Created by our EPs across the world, collaboratively Providing opportunities like Campus Ambassador Program to all the EPs. Partnering Organizations, NGOs, Schools & Colleges: The relationship with schools & colleges is just of client they do not know anything about as, they merely know as an exchange organization (exception LPU) Action Steps: Annual Stake holder meet Involving them in LC Events Stakeholder Management, Sending Newsletters keeping them updates on AIESEC Activities. AIESECers & Alumnus: These are a few stakeholders which we sometimes forget to consider but we provide them mostly what is needed. Action Steps: Engaging members in all 6 elements of the GLE, focusing on mentorship Transparency of operations and member performance Adhering to the HR policy Specialized job roles for all members to suits their interests and skills

You Can make mistakes but they are not failure until you start blaming others for it.

Parents: Though they are one of the most important stakeholder we generally forget them. Just get Good Results :P

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar

Critically analyze the performance and culture of AIESEC JALANDHAR in the year 2012.

Culture: First i would like to define Culture “Culture is behavior in an Organization, Which Makes people believe in the Vision of the organization, Culture includes the organization values, visions, norms, working language, systems, symbols, beliefs and habits. They understand the hierarchy in the organization and everyone respects each other for what they are. The Culture of AIESEC In Jalandhar has improved a lot from the past year but we still need to go a long way from where we are right now. There are both positive & Negative aspects towards it.

Negative:

Positive: Focused membership. Empowered Second Level Management. We see a membership which is ready to challenge themselves and push their limits. MB Contributing to the development of membership. High level of transparence maintained between EB & MB

EB & MB Doing most of the operational work. Position Oriented Membership. Less members taking X+L. A strong office culture is Missing. Strong and effective R&R campaigns Is Still missing Effective Meetings & Frequency of LC Forums.

Ill make sure that all the positive things are carried forward and My Team Eliminate all the negative aspects.

Performance: See Question 3 Section G According to you, what are the changes that AIESEC in Jalandhar has seen in the past two years? (mention all aspects: culture, performance & Positioning)

Culture: The Culture of AIESEC in Jalandhar has seen a shift overall in the mindset of membership in comparison to the last year. The Membership is motivated to work for the vision and love for the organization more than the positions given in the organization this ned to improve but its a going good at the current situation. The EB maintained a good transparency between the EB & MB. LC Forums reduced in comparison to the last year. Office culture was missing this year, Last year office was there but it was just misused as Crash out place. Ludhiana Membership also came strong this year in comparison to last year.

They Always say Change Things but you have to change them yourself

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar

Performance: See Question 3 Section G Positioning: Positioning relates to the standing of AIESEC as an organization in the Local Realities in which we are present. In jalandhar our relevance has dropped down in comparison to last year if we talk about events, we have capitalized ludhiana market better than last year. The strong points this year were Socially relevant projects. The One event which i found very relevant this year was Jagriti & Life-a-thon, even though we dint had many people participating in that event but it was a good initiative. A part from that other events like Global Village, BKK couldn't come up to the expectations as compared to the last year.

Culture

Performance 2010 2011

Positioning 2012

Mention three main priorities for the year 2013. Support each with strategies. Also highlight new main innovations you will bring about in the functioning of the LC. Innovations: Change In LCM Structure: There wont be any Updates In LCMs For Updates there will be separate LCMs only at the end of Quarter. The LCMs Would be about LEAD Sessions & Much More. One LCM in 3 weeks.

Evolution of OS structure in projects: This is something which we wanted to do this year but couldn't happen due the membership crunch in the beginning, every project will have an OC structure with an OCP and a team for that particular project. This structure will make the project selfsustainable in terms of ER, increase accountability of finances and delivery and give a diverse experience to the members.

Department Specific Recruitments: This is something which i really want to take forward the problem of membership crunch happens because the newly recruit people do not know what are they signing up for exactly. But now what i would like to do is at the time of recruitments only ask him his/her preference and then explain in light the job role in the department that will be given so that he/she knows what are they signing up for and what do they want to do and does it match with what we are providing. Lcongs: This is Not an Innovation But something which i would like to take forward from this year. Tapping All the universities which did not wanted to partner with AIESEC in the past with the help of events like Empower, Youth Empowerment, HR Summit & Global Village.

Innovation is anything but Business as ususal

Introduction Of LSGs: Local Support Group are set of people who act as BoAs for a particular department the major mistake we often do is that who ever we find suitable we add them in BoA or just look at what the person can give us tangibly but we ignore the fact how he may help us. This would actually make us more credible as an organization and more relevant in the Society. For Example: iGCDP will have their LSGs from NGOs where as OGX can have their LSGs from Universities. Alumni Event: This an event i have created by only changing the structure of the event. EG. Life-AThon event is being done in which Only the EBC is from AIESEC and rest the OCPs & OCVPs are from Alumnis and rest of the OC is AM.

Kumar Shalya Gupta || Application FOR LOCAL COMMITTEE PRESIDENT 2013-14 || AIESEC In Jalandhar Empowered Membership & Getting an Integrated Experience Only Having a large membership in the LC is not Good enough, AIESEC In Jalandhar need a membership which is empowered enough to take any challenge that may come to them. AIESEC In Jalandhar needs a membership which not only know the processes but also have the knowledge to judge and analyze what is going around them. Engaging members in all 6 elements of the GLE, focusing on mentorship Transparency of operations and member performance Adhering to the HR policy Specialized job roles for all members to suits their interests and skills Active participation of membership in executing delivery process LTT to be implemented AIESEC presence in external forums (NGOs and corporate) Members to go on exchange Investments such as subsidies, RnR and reimbursements to boost membership experience. member Induction through External Leads

What do you understand by TMP | TLP driving growth for 2013. What are the major areas you are looking to grow through TMP | TLP? TMP TLP Driving Growth actually for getting step higher for evolution. We need to do things differently & moreover efficiently. For reaching out people to a greater extent we need to channelize the work. What we used to to do before was few people doing all the work & indeed getting their experience but somehow factors like efficiency & the beautiful experience which should have been there was missing. Now to move a step ahead to evolve ourself more we need to provide opportunities to every second person in a row that helps in two ways we move towards engagement & secondly by delivering efficiency in our programs & that's how growth is derived. For 2013 major focus areas are going to be. OGX:- Since it helps in great understanding of organization by powerful experiences & afterwards getting integrated in LC. That helps in improving a lot. More are the people more is the outreach. EWA:- A lot of people cant devote or commit their whole timing to AIESEC. So the short term experiences offers them a great learning experiences and they become promoters of AIESEC. That helps us indirectly to move towards BHAG. Action Steps: Integrated Experience to Empower Membership. EwA & Conversion to ELD to increase TMP Optimization & Evolution of TM Processes LEAD TMP/TLP On Exchange Virtual Roles TMP/TLP in 2013 will be driving growth through quality experiences. Teams will be based on team purposes. OS evolution will drive GCDP and GIP and also build talent capacity. TMP/TLP on exchange will be a focus area that will contribute to exchange. Integrating the raised and returned EPs should be a focus. The high numbers of TMP/TLP should reflect in the growth of exchanges. Tracking TMP/TLP in expansions will make the experience delivery more effective and will help in recruitments on a better level.

Propose the organizational structure that you plan to follow for the next year including the second level management and nonexchange roles. Please be detailed in your answer to include the separate entities that the present EB has planned for AIESEC JALANDHAR in the coming year.

You Dont have to solve a problem at the level it was created you need to rise above it to solve it

What role does AIESEC In Jalandhar play in the national association presently? Will this role change in 2013? AIESEC in Jalandhar since last years was seen as a “Underdog” LC but this year the image has changed although the major reason for it was iGCDP but this year AIESEC In Jalandhar grew a lot and everyone has seen their growth as an LC. Seeing the growth we have shown in the past two years we are seen as an LC which has immense potential owing to culture and market we have maintained. Being cited as the best expansion initiative in 2009. The History of AIESEC in Jalandhar is still something which is talked about in the national Plenary many new LC and Expansions look up to us on the growth what we have shown, BUT IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH, ARE WE TO STOP THERE. Its time we stop talking and start doing things, History have been made, Now Its Time To Build Our future. Its time that AIESEC In Jalandhar realizes its true potential in all spheres in this organization we leave the age old 2010 Theory and Start being relevant. Its Time to Show the True Culture of AIESEC In Jalandhar . And The Only way we can do it if we come out as a Team Because We Are STRONG TOGETHER, STRONGER FOREVER.

Please mention the minimum contribution that AIESEC Jalandhar would be making to the national Association for the year 2013. (Includes direct MoS: i/o GCDP, i/o GIP, TMP, TLP & NPS)

The Biggest Problem that people have is while setting their goal. Goals: According to the top analysts the biggest mistake people do while setting their goal is that they look at the Present & Past circumstances while setting their goal. S+T+P: Strategy + Tactics + Process: Now we need to look at the past & present to formulate Strategy, Tactics, Processes to achieve your goals. Habits: You need to back out your STP with Correct Habits to achieve your goals. You need to change your Behavior to the person who can achieve the goals. Beliefs: You need Implicit Belief that would drive your Habits and help you achieve our goals.

This is the Minimum Contribution which i have stated over here, I alone cannot set my targets as that is a teams collective efforts So My Targets will be defined by my team.

What will be your Unique contribution as LCP in the year 2013? I Sit back and think on what i was and what i have become in this organization. By the mid of my first TL term i started thinking that AIESEC In Jalandhar is nothing without me and i am the only person who matters in my team. But then reality crashes down in front of you, and you realize whatever you were thinking is actually the other way round. I am a very small part in this huge organization. Although there are various things i might be able to contribute what i would like to contribute is a VISION, for AIESEC In Jalandhar. I would like to share this vision with my LC and make them believe in it. From where i sit and see this LC has a huge potential but the major problem is it scattered everywhere and its not together i would strive for in the next year is for the LC Being Together. Being from Jalandhar also would gives me an edge understanding jalandhar & its market.

United we Stand Divided We Fall

Section G | Plans & Position Mention five initiatives that you would like to take up in the year 2013 EwA & Alumni Relations: Introduction Of Six Sigma Concept: Introduction of Local Support Groups & Effective Utilization of BoAs Short Efficient & Effective Meetings Department Specific Recruitments Collaborations with external Organizations & Other LCs in India

Mention key synergies that are required to be operational in the LC.

Actions Steps: Task Force Utilization Expansions, EwA & OGX Synergy Synergy Meets Intra Programme Synergy Synergy between Exchangers & Non-Exchangers These are the main action steps which need to be taken in the LC, because looking at the past trends we have seen that we can define the problem easily but where we lack is solving a problem. The above written action steps are to be taken to solve the problem.

Year: 2012 This year iGCDP Showed a tremendous growth but there were problems that came along it. These problems came due to high volume of exchanges and a major shift in culture. In 2011 the LC used to be hanging in the Intern house most of the time with no reason at all that was the reason that we never saw any major problem in that year, which dint happen this year so all the problems came in front of us. Another problem which came was due to the membership crunch that LC had till september.
