Horizontal layout maximized area per floor at the cost of site area.
Vertical stacking was not feasible because of the limitations of no. of containers.
Spacing the containers horizontally and stacking in a staggering manner created interesting outdoor rooms. This basic concept was used in multiple variations to achieve the final design.

INTERSTATE BUS TERMINAL This project required designing an Interstate Bus Terminal for 40 busses, 20 local and 20 interstate. The main challenge faced during this project was the site which was a heavily contoured basin valley which had a prominent natural drainage path.

SITE Another challenge was planning the road network to satisfy standard gradient while making sure there was no conflict between bus, vehicular and pedestrian movement, This was achieved by limiting the vehicles to the entrances and having aerial walkways for the pedestrian.
modified contours
The main idea was to minimize cutting and filling the contours as much as possible. It was virtually impossible to have 40 bus bays in a single level so the terminal was divided into 2 separate levels for the busses.

site plan
FUNCTIONAL ZONING Level 3 comprises of the commercial zone. This includes the shopping area, the food court and the lodging facilities of the ISBT.
Level 2 comprises of the Interstate bus bays, waiting areas, the administrative area and other amenities like police booth, tourist information booth etc.
Level 3 comprises of the local bus bays and other amenities associated with it like ticketing counter, food kiosks etc.

ELEVATION & VIEWS The peculiar shape of the sheds above the bus bays were designed to collect rain water and transfer it to an underground storage through its columns that doubles as pipes connecting to the underground storage. The roofs inclined towards the natural drainage path of the site.

LIBRARY This particular library is a part of a bigger project, i.e. Engineering Campus. This library was designed in a compact manner due to limitations imposed by the site. The aim of this project was to design a functionally sound library and integrate its roof as an extension to the overall campus landscaping.
