Sensory Escape

Accept. Listen. Learn. Understand.

Sensory Escape Sensory Escape is a portable exhibition for children who have ASD, is it a chance for them to enjoy themselves as well as learn how to interact with others- sensory rooms are excellent for improving development skills and practise of the five senses. This type of interactive display has been proven to be extremely benifical for children with auitsm and other disabilities, with how it stimulates the senses and also encourages engagment. It is important to surround children with educational fun activities to keep them engaged when learning. This is also an oppotunity for parents to educate themselves further on this difficult disability with the help of our team at Sensory Escape. Mum’s and Dad’s are encouraged to join in!

There is no specific order you have to view the display in, whatever and however you want to- it is completely up to you. There will be 3 various trailers which is different from each other- bubble room, light room and texture room. There will be staff to help children and parents if need be but it is a very freeing display- we want to make it a fun and interactive atmosphere, not like any other exhibition display! You can take your time in each trailer and remember to enjoy yourself!

Bubble Breakout

Bubble Breakout is one of the first trailers at ‘Sensory Escape’, it is solely focused on bubble machines and how effective they can be for autistic children. When it comes to best toys/ activities for sensory feedback, the bubble machine is believed to be the one. They are not only fun and intertactive for children but it also develops their hand/eye coordination and builds their social and communication skills. This specific traler will be flled with machines that spray bubbles and also bubble lava lampsthe trailer itself will have circus mirrored walls to boost the exciting atmosphere of ‘Sensory Escape’.

Textures Take Flight

Touching and feeling objects and different materials allows children to physically learn more about subjects- children learn better by physically doing something rather than listening and watching someone else do it. ‘Textures Take Flight’ is filled with various types of materials and fabrics- fluffy, fuzzy, sparkly, ect. The fabics will be on the walls of the display, the flooring, the cushions, seatingsnearly everything will consist of these textures and materials. This specific space is to enhance how the children use there touch and seeing senses to interact with the display. Everyone reacts different to various textures so it will also improve how the children interact with others in this environment.

Light Place

Children with autism are especially susceptible to mood changes due to lighting; lights with mellow colors can help a child relax and become creative. It is important to help children realise that they can be successful and creative with any disabilities, some of the most riches people in the world have autism. The ‘Light place’ trailer will consist of lots of lights; like strobe lights, galaxy projectors and walk-through fairy lights. This is something that any child could enjoy doing. Seasonal affective disorder can foster behavioral issues and depression therefore natural light has been shown to relieve these symptoms. This display will hopefully make children happy and full of life!

2021

3

This transportable exhibition will start in 2021 and has no end date. We hope this will carry on for as long as possible so we can continue making children happy and raising awareness of this specific disablity.

The aim for this interactive display is to inform and educate others of ASD and the importance of knowing how to interact with children who has this disability. Sensory Escape is a safe place for children to express their feelings with people who can understand and listen- we have loved ones in our life who is also on the ASD spectrum therefore this subject matter is very close to home. We hope you will join in and experience this amazing oppotunity with us.
