ABOUT THE COLLECTION South West Livin’ is about being surrounded by the stubtle yet stunning beauty of North America’s South West areas spanning from Arizona through southern California. This collection began with a request by the Artists Sister for some South West themed art for her new home in the Mid-West. Two color-ways “Desert in Bloom” which includes a vibrant pop of pink of cactus flowers, deep reds of red rocks juxaposed with blues of the sky and creams of sand and dry grass. “Desert in Drought” represents the continued beauty of the desert has to offer during drier times. Just the right shades of browns for rocks, twigs and critters and sage greens of various plants helps bring balance to the grey and purple of twighlight skies.

Desert in Bloom D
esert in Bloom is inspired by the wild flowers and cactus flowers that bloom in the spring. After long hot summers and dormant winters the desert comes to life with blankets of color. Togther with bright fresh blue skies the blooming is a wonderous sight to see! Many of us think of Horses running off into the sunset and Native American Cave paintings when we think of the American South West. You’ll get that with this collection! Symbolism was a strong influence when creating this collection. Cactus roses and Skulls bring life and death together in the celebration of the full circle of life. Diamonds play a large roll in this collection. Read on for more.

esert in drought colleciton is inspired by the hidden beauty of the dessert. At first glance the desert is a dry desolate place void of life. When taking a closer look the desert is full of life! From the birds, insects, plants and mamals the desert is brimming with beauty and life all year long.

Symbolism
As a tribute to my late best frined I’ve used several elements in Native American culture in this pattern collection to reflect her ancestoral roots. In some cultures, the Diamond represents the Butterfly in Native American coultures. The Butterfly is seen as a messanger of the spirit world, a communicator in dreams and symbol of peacer. I’ve used several elements in Native American culture in this pattern collection as a tribute to. Crossed arrows represents Friendship. The Arrow point pointing at the flectching, (broken arrow represents Peace. My Desert Diamond patterns represent the Medicine man.

hanna, Like many artists, finds inspiration in the world around her. Not only does she stop and smell the roses she takes their picture. Lots of pictures! Shanna will use these photos as reference in her art and design. Using Watercolor, ink, digital art or a mixture of all mediums she brings to life her illustrations. She loves texture and dynamics that are built by mixing mediums. Growing up in the State of Utah, Shanna has enjoyed the perks of being a few hours drive to state park and beautiful scenery in any direction her adventures take
