4 projects with 3 recurring modes The projects below are a manifestation of 3 recurring argumentative modes; aestheticism, methodology and perception that are a significant part of every design. They are also accompanied by experimentation in the form of study models to accompany an architectural obsession of mine; lighting & model making.
how do you entertain anxious millenials through architecture?
distraction incubator distraction as entertainment for socially anxious people on roosevelt island advanced design studio IV columbia university gsapp for your entertainment studio Pedro y Juana- Ana Paula Ruiz Galindo and Mecky Reuss summer 2019 Social anxiety can disrupt a person’s regular flow of life while making daily tasks seemingly difficult. With social anxiety being the most common anxiety disorder in the world after ‘specific phobias’, my proposal is an entertainment device for millennials with social anxiety using entertainment as a distraction through physical movement and sensory engagement. in collaboration with Shailee Kothari

how do you create a flexible program through architecture?
timber frame community a sustainable transformable community for columbia university’s mfa students advanced design studio V columbia university gsapp arthouse: community studio vPPR Architects - Tatiana Preussen, Catherine Pease and Jessica Reynolds fall 2019 Coxsackie as a community defines the relationship between art and nature extremely effortlessly. This design would bind the students further not only with one and another but also with their ideas and work. By Intertwining spaces and blurring lines between spaces meant for recreation, work and residences, I have attempted to create a modern yet simple concept of sustainable living.

museum of cinema creating a landmark for bollywood in india undergraduate thesis srm university, india Best outgoing thesis award of 2018 thesis advisor- T.R. Kamalakannan spring 2018 project location- Mumbai, India The design is the physical manifestation of an emotional response to Indian cinema. Situated in Film City, amidst working back-lots, the museum participates in the industry that supports it. Some of the sites biggest oppurtunities is the stream passing through it, the view of the mountain ranges around and the dire need for a cinematic landmark in Mumbai.

how do you create a home that breaks to make its spaces?
breakergraph/monograph a retroactive perspective on my journey between peace and chaos, me and myself, shanti and ashanti advanced design studio VI columbia university gsapp makergraph studio lotEK- Ada Tolla, Giuseppe Lignano, Reza Zia & Thomas Des M Being an extremely curious designer, I have always been obsessed with experimenting with the limits of materials. This is a monograph that merges my obsession with materials and making; peace and chaos; breaking and making. Breakergraph is the physical manifestation of a beach; a beach is a visual diary of everybody that has accessed the space. Hence, my home works on the same principle. Using the flexible materials from my objects, the spaces in my home are constantly evolving and transforming.

utah house
assisted on concept through SD phase for the design of a luxury residential house in Utah orem, utah role ; junior architect firm; guerin glass architects oct 2020 - dec 2020 The house is approximately 30,000 sqft located in the heart of Orem in Utah. I was involved in finalizing the concept design of the house which included producing packages weekly with updates and changes. I also built several physical models to aid the initial stages of the project along with high quality renders for client meetings.

assisted on construction sets and virtual renders for the luxury condominium complex new york, ny role ; architectural intern firm; mesh architectures nyc project status; under construction july 2020 - oct 2020
The building has around 20 inhabitable units along with a CLT floor slab structure that expands throughout. My role as the architectural intern on the project allowed me to participate in the SD & CD phases. I assisted the project manager and principal architect in editing the existing construction sets and also in drafted new sets. I also created virtual interior renders of the spaces present on site such as the bathrooms+kitchens to finalize on certain material finishes.

mission high school lead the intern team to conceptualize the academic block and master plan of a school bangalore, india role ; senior architecture intern firm; studio d cubed, india (2017) project status; under construction The school was designed during my internship semester with a 3 member group. My contribution was in leading the intern team in designing the academic block and also in the site planning of the entire property. The primary concept of the academic block was to split it into 2 floors and the classrooms together by means of courtyards. Hence , the courtyards would be an ideal breakout space for a set of classrooms ensuring a controlled playtime environment.

professional; untitled a+d founder and lead architect (2018-present)
To me, spaces and buildings take on a different meaning or purpose post inhabitation. A material, object or building turns into a multi faceted space that represents multiple occupations. Hence, the title ‘Untitled’ is a manifestation of an ongoing thought of mine; that architecture + design is untitled. And that spaces designed for a specific purpose always turn out to be something completely different + years down the line. in collaboration with Shariq & Co Contractors
17’x40’
concept package for compact housing project chennai, india june 2018 - present role: lead designer and consultant project status; under construction The 17’x40’ residence project I worked on was extremely challenging as it was a compact space that had to incorporate all of the clients spatial requirements. I designed the home with a lightwell courtyard in the center so as to allow ample natural lighting into the residential area through a skylight. By adding the circulation core in the courtyard, I left enough space on either sides of the footprint to incorporate the spatial requirements.
kurtos
Modelled end to end design elements for a niche F & B commercial hospitality space chennai, india feb 2019 - june 2019 role ; lead designer dessert bar project status ; built The client was introducing a niche dessert bar in chennai, india to house chimney cones. My role as the lead designer came in terms of producing floor plans, design elements and site execution with my contracting partners to finish and turn over the project in 4 months. I provided complex design solutions, furniture and lightning design specifications to enhance the aesthetics of the project.
original gains™ & bombay churros
two projects that were designed in tandem ; innovating lighting fixtures & comprehensive interichennai, india sept 2018 - feb 2019 role; lead designer dessert bar & nutritional prep. kitchen project status; built I designed these 2 projects at the same time and hence both of them borrowed design solutions and aesthetics from one another. Bombay Churros is an existing franchise in North India and were expanding further south. My role was to produce technical drawing details and renovate their chosen site to encorporate their signature elements. Original gains was the first plot of many subsequent branches that I designed for the company; it included creating a consistent color aesthetic inspired by the logo of the brand to create an open floor plan commercial kitchen and office space.
