Why design ?
I’m an adventurous person. I love traveling around the world and finding inspirations from different cultures and aesthetics. My
education from the National Cheng Kung University as an Industrial Design student has significantly broadened my knowledge of Design. When I first started brainstorming with my friends, I
immediately realized my love and passion for design. I am attracted to everything creative and innovative.
Design to me is a way of thinking that helps us to make the world a
better place. I might look just like an ordinary guy, but I know I was born to create. My journey to design might have started later than
others, but I have end less drive for learning and improving. I would like to join a company that shares the same value with me and allows me to contribute with my full potential.

Background Urban Heat Island Effect A n ur ban heat island (UHI) is an ur ban area or
metropolitan area that is significantly warmer than its surrounding rural areas due to human activities. The temperature difference usually is larger at night than during the day, and is most apparent when winds are weak.
UHI is most noticeable during the summer and winter.
The main cause of the urban heat island effect is from the modification of land surfaces.Waste heat generated by energy usage is a secondary contributor.
As a population center grows, it tends to expand its area
and increase its average temperature. The less-used term heat island refers to any area, populated or not, which is consistently hotter than the surrounding area.

Persona
S am is a 3 5 -year- old of f ice wor ker. He wor k s hard in workdays, so he likes to do nothing but stay at home on the
weekend. Usually, he will surf the internet for something interesting and new. He is also an eco-friendly lover, he would like to try everything to keep the earth a nice place to live in.
When Sam was staying at home, he always feel depressed
about the high temperature in his house. He want to cool down the interior temperature by using an eco-friendly way. After greening the roof,he

Frustration 2
Sam likes the cooling effect that greening brought, but he is not a planting lover. He
loses his motivation for taking care of plants after a tired day of working and sometimes he just forgets to water it.
Oppurtunity
We could design a product service system for these kind of users wanting the cooling
effect only. Helping users by learning the basic planting knowledge and create more motivation by connecting with other users. We can also suggest the breed that needs less water to maintain living to reduce the frequency of watering for users.

Sketch Process Greenspot should be designed with strictly process and ever y par t need fully considered. We star t
sketching with different faces, such as shape, how to install, irrigation, technology and packaging,
and after a long-time discussion we delete some unnecessary design and keep some we think it's innovative and helpful.

Introduction Greenspot lower building temperature by reducing shor t-wave radiation absorbing and increasing reflection and evapotranspiration by plants. With roof
greening, we can create a good circulation. Greenspot is environment-friendly and economical. It can not only reduce energy consumption, but also mitigate UHIs.

The Rack
The rack is elevated to 110cm, keeps the roots of plants from damaging to the buildings. It's much more convenient to take care and water the plant.
Safety Latch
The other side of the button is a safety latch, design to prevent children from touching accidentally.
Connecting Device
Attach the stands together can prevent the vertical stand from blowing down by strong winds.

Placing the rack ver tically is much easier to move and place. Each time
pushing the button, it will rotate 90 degrees and stuck automatically.

Water System
Research shows retaining water in a soil can promote green roofing’s ef fect. Therefore, we have specially designed to remain soiled humidity.
Water Storage
Weekly fills the water to our suggestedline is suf f icient for plant s to be cultivated during a week.
Moisture Sensor
Insert it into the soil and it will detect
the soil moisture. The App will send message to user when it is too dry for plants.
Absorbent
The sackcloth absorbs water from the big pot into the soil to provide water requirement. And the broken one could be replaced conveniently instead of changing the whole pot.
Drain
There are many tiny holes on the top
of the pot. They can prevent soil from
flushing out of the pot, and reuse the water by recycle from the big pot.

Greenspot App About App
To make greening more widespread and convenient, in addition to combined with the humidity sensor, GreenSpot APP provides related
news to strengthen people’s knowledge about the pressure global
warming brought to the earth and cities. Users can also share their own
greening achievements, refer to global users’examples and invite their friends to join the campaign so as to cool down the earth.
Personal Management
Daily, weekly, and monthly records are provided to help users to
manage the greening conditions. Watering and fertilizing reminders could also be set to provide plants best caring .
Heat Issue
In order to make more people understand and think highly of heat impacts such as global warming, GreenSpot presents news about heat impacts to users.
Global Greenspots
App users could learn the details of other greening means by zooming in the green map so as to reinforce their own greening effects.

Sharing
One greening affair can hardly improve the
whole city environment. Tons of greening
areas are needed to create maximum benefit. We hope to draw more people to
embarking on the greening campaign by shares and invites from users. Participants
can share their own experience to help rookie s . More over, the benef it could
be shared with any other social media; therefore, all greening profits could be shown around the world.

Concept Development Why Party ?
When people want to celebrate something
or just have fun together, they will look for something new to add joyful to the scene. We find out food and beverages are necessary in the party and in some party food and drinks
even playing the main role. We choose several
things and rethink of function, design a new product and make it closer to the nature of the party.
Experiment Air Pressure
To prove our idea is feasible, we prac ticed
experiments and recorded the result. Through the expreiments we confirm a perfect working
is based on an airproof environment, and while
putting pressure in the container the air flow should be only in one-way.
Party Juicer
Bring Happiness
We start to think about how to create new meaning with these materials. Then
we decided to use blender and inflator for grinding and squrting. We thought
it's great to create something brought happiness and develop relationships between user and audience.

Medical product
Happy plus is a design for people who can't measure the syrup or other medicinal liquid accurately. We also want to change the bad mood of taking medicine by adding some interesting element.

Background Measuring medicine
Patients sometimes take the advice of a doctor to control medicine using. We find
out people often use the little translucent plastic cup for measuring liquid medicine, and this would be easy for adults but not
for elders. Elders would rather use a spoon than measuring cup because of vision loss, but this cause another problem of dose.
Happy
User research
2-3
colds per year
Each year in the United States, there are millions of
cases of the common cold. Adults have an average of 2-3 colds per year, and children have even more.
Source of data is come from CDC(USA)
Pe ople should cor re c tly follow doc tor's suggestment taking medicine, but sometimes 33% of Patients
people fail it. We find out 33% of patients forget to take medicine once even more.
Experience We also discover taking medicine is not quite
a good memories for patients, and sometimes people even feel embarrassed about letting
people know they're sick. But taking medicine is a method of healing ourself and research
also shows the feeling of patient do affect the condition getting better or not.

Inspiration Frozen Moment
In these days, we are living in a fast pace world, so
suffocated. Whenever we use a techniqe device and focus on it, time starts flying. In this work, I try to capture an
attractive moment and make it last for long as a product. So I try to look more carefully, want to find something gorgeous to share with people.

Sketch Process How to explain my feeling through the product is very important. I try different ways to control the best proportion of width and height to transform
the image into a shape but still have to keep the soul.

To make the color changing on
the paper board more attractive,
I choose a texture with all white and it's also smooth touching.
When light reflec ted by the white papper board from inside
to out side, the brightness will change from bright to dark at the same time.
