las patro: revival This 2017 branding project, seeks a cultural revival for the town of Gurabo and its annual “Patronales” festivities. At that time, it had passed 4 years since the last “Patronales” were celebrated in town. That’s why the concept includes some sort of “revival” vibe... as a movement to involve the community to participate in the festivity once again. This time the graphic style is a fresh, colorful, vivid, and neat one. Inspired by the town’s main essence and cultural attraction, at El Cerro... “las escaleras” (staircase) and the colorful houses... which are, mainly the focus; always painted with colorful shades, thanks to Pablo Marcano’s artistic movement (local artist and painter). Other design elements applied were a Sans Serif Typography and the following Color Palette:

azabache Azabache, is a local small business dedicated mainly to handmade accesories, that involve mostly, the usage of beads.The concept adapts to the owner’s personality taste. Including street art, floral vibes, mexican art that included her fascination for Frida Kahlo. The other elements include a Sans Serif Typography with Handmade and Customized Freestyle Lettering with a Calligraphic Stroke, and the following Color Palette: RALEWAY

mei handmade Mei Handmade, is a local small business dedicated to embroidery and knitting. In the logo’s concept, there’s a fusion of floral elements portraying folded cloth, also representations of needles, and yarn in an illustrated style that forms a bigger flower as a whole. The petals’ borders are the equivalent of embroidery and knitting terminations. The other elements include a Sans Serif Typography and the following Color Palette: CERA PROMODERN MEDIUM ALCUBIER RE REGULAR

mujer bonica Mujer Bonica, is a local online boutique and lifestyle blog by Nutriotonist Jeyleen Ortíz, that seeks and tries to establish a very delicate, femenine, minimalistic style throughout the concept. As requested, the representation consists of portraying the contact of what’s natural and irradiates inner peace in an abstract way. Therefore, there’s a sun or lotus flower in formation, poly art style, in the logo’s concept. The initials of Mujer Bonica in a calligraphic style to represent elegance, and leafs as a representation of well being, health and growth. Other elements include a Serif Typography and the following Color Palette:

tempest Tempest, is a local clothing brand, soon to emerge. The logo commissioned, was a combination of different types of tempests, that can manifest on earth, water, and the sky. The owner wanted an outline illustrated logo, that represented the combination of all these adversities that a person can encounter. Inspired by how we overcame Hurracane María, and with a hint of the owner’s favorite hobbies: surfing... the idea of the concept resulted in this final version. The other elements include Customized and Handwritten Letter “T” with a Sans Serif Typography and the following Color Palette:

limbi pop Limby Pop, is a small local family business at San Lorenzo dedicated to the production of “limbers” with a touch of popsicle by including a handle to it. The concept for the logo design is based on candy pastel hues with a funky vibrant look. The type was made manually and carelessly scanned and customized digitally. The icon was also illustrated by hand then digitalized, representing the limber pop in an outlined style. The concept has the intention to appear friendly and stand out. The following Colors are part of the Brand’s Color Scheme:

lercy’s cake Lercy’s Cake, is a logo commission for pastry services. The logo design, includes a very playful and friendly concept stamp. The owner wanted an illustrated version that could give a friendly-cartoonish, yet elegant, and sticker type of concept. Therefore, this version with a script type combined with a solid typography, and outlined illustrations make a good balance for the logo as whole in the representation of a friendly and happy frosted cake. The other elements include Script and Sans Serif Typography and the following Color Palette:

lb constructions Established in November 2000, by Luis BenĂ­tez RodrĂ­guez. LB Constructions, is a micro-company, dedicated to infrastructure development and rehabilitation of architectural work, through coordinated and planned construction projects. They have worked with some projects such as Palmas del Mar, Paseo de los Artesanos, among other countless architectural projects during the last 16 years. Therefore, the concept consists on transmitting through the logo and branding, its values... that includes quality, sympathy, empathy, responsibility, integrity, honesty, closeness, and trust. The elements include the intials in a fusion of a digger representation, with a Sans Serif Typography and the following Color Palette:

deco to go Deco to Go, is a business on wheels proposal for an entrepreneurship class session. This was in collaboration with teammates Gabriella Burgos and GÊnesis Santiago. As a graphic designer, I had the task of creating and designing the business’ look and feel regarding the branding area and logo concept. The logo represents the simplified process of the services, that seeks to provide accessibility and a process for our clients that include consulting services, estimates, design, quotes, samples, by easily arriving at your home and nearby regions to provide collaborations and quality service. freddy solutions This logo commission for (Frederick) Freddy Solutions’ services of programming, is based and designed under the concept of threads (tool), square brackets and slashes normally used in the coding language of programmers and the fusion that can be created by joining them, an element of power up and energy that are portrayed through the services. mi familia quiropåctica MFQ chiropractic’s logo design, is based on the integration, prevention and well-being for families and athletes in the healthy and athletic area, portrayed by a degradation of colors, that represent the services’ values. From blue (cold) to orange (warm) colors; blue is related to chiropractic, and orange is known as an active, energetic and family friendly color. This harmonizes the concept in a fresh and modern way. The elements include, both sans serif and bold typographies and the following Color Palette: GOTHAM BLACK Go o d t im es

concerning the spiritual in art This book is one of the most important documented texts in the history of modern art, painting, and abstract form. It explains Wassily Kandinsky’s own theory of painting back at 1911, and crystallizes the ideas that were influencing many other modern artists of the period. In this 2017 edition, the concept offers a sublime and more neat version of the text to create a whole new and more contemporary experience for the reader, bringing a modern art classic to these days. The objective is to present a more captivating and accesible text to the artists, art students and even art lovers of this era, so they can appreciate and stimulate the spirituality of modern art throughout Kandinsky’s Book. Based and inspired by Japanese Editorial Design, the format and graphic elements are quite neat, contemporary, and minimalistic... making representations and illustrations of the sensation that the text and book content gives, from outlines, geometric and organic figures, to brush strokes as an interpretation of abstraction and spirituality through art. Publication’s Typographies and Color Palette include:

nono maldonado exhibition Nono Maldonado, one of the most popular and successful fashion designers of Puerto Rico, who has brought glorious moments and pride to the Puerto Rican Fashion Industry; This year, he celebrates 50 years of a career full of greatness and accomplishments. The Ana G. Méndez University alongside with the the Puerto Rican Foundation of Humanities, made a full exhibition and project that presented his most important fashion pieces at the museum, with a trajectory display and retrospective of Nono’s work, by the theme: The order of forms. As a graphic designer, I had the opportunity to participate with the School of Design and Architecture of UAGM Gurabo, with the task of representing and designing the whole concept for the exhibition’s publication. The content consists of eight essays by academic professionals and different fields related to design, news, arcitecture and such, that describe Nono’s work, personal life and his influence in fashion design detailing a little bit of his essence and trajectory. The text’s and content’s typographies and Color Palette are the following:

nono maldonado Nono Maldonado, one of the most popular and successful fashion designers of Puerto Rico, who has brought glorious moments and pride to the Puerto Rican Fashion Industry; This year, he celebrates 50 years of a career full of greatness and accomplishments. The Ana G. Providing a variety of categories and tools to storage each one of these, ensuring your experience as an individual and customer. You will have the opportunity to maintain a digital archive of every guarantee made, nonetheless the product or term to help you feel more at ease and to evade further stressful situations when reclaiming. faso shea butter Conept: “Faso Shea Butter, is one of the best moisturizers, and is fully worked by women from the local area of Burkina Faso. They are engaged in numerous jobs, both domestic and agricultural; including this traditional of shea butter. This product is exclusively made for Sephora. The product is unrefined, no type of additive has been added that modifies its properties for certain purposes both for its commercial appeal and its preservation of. For this reason, a natural / organic concept is desired without removing cultural details.� Primary Package Complete wrap label around the tube, so you have the necessary space for details such as logo, product description, manufacturing, ODP and green dot. Secondary Package It is a Pillow Box, to create a more sophisticated and peculiar touch, knowing that where the product is directed is quite exclusive and they have a clientele that expects packaging details mostly out of the ordinary. POP or Display It is a fairly common package, adapted to an accessible measure for both the Sephora store, where the display area is limited, as well as for the product and the box. littlest pet shop The problem: “Due to customer complaints, the Hasbro company has decided that it must carry out a packaging renewal for the Littlest Pet Shop (cart toy) car sold in the Amazon site (amazon. com) online store. Also, it has to be an interactive packaging, where the child has the opportunity to recycle and play with the package as well.” With our corrugated cardboard packaging, we want to innovate the functions of the usual packaging that tends to be discarded once the product is removed. Therefore, taking advantage of its shape and compartments, we want children to be able to use both the toy and the packaging for a long time. It will serve as a “playmat”, where the compartments serve as a home for the 4 pets and the area occupied by the car serves as a road with illustrations both inside and inside the box cover. In this one single color will be used, in positive negative space, playing with the color of the corrugated cardboard. In this way, it meets, plays, and even stores the product in a more prolonged and sustainable way. (Cardboard is originally white). GOTHAM BLACK

yd inspirations YD inspirations is a local small business by Yenitza Dåvila, dedicated to the confection of handmade soaps and skin products, such as serums, oils, face masks, balms, lotions, body mists, candles, and others. We have worked, first on the branding, and afterwards, on more than 50 different labels for each authentic product in the past 2 years. The brand’s typographies and Color Palette, used in both, logo and labeling system, are the following:

yahdai natural soap Yahdai Natural Soap is a local small business by owner Iris Medina, that is dedicated to a natural and handcrafted confection of soaps. We have had the chance to work on the best selling products’ labels of the brand, from “honey, milk & oats” to “lavender chamomile” soap, and around 7 other more. The logo’s concept is styled as a stamp, with a personally customized letter “Y” and illustrated leafs that represent the usage of fresh aromatic herbs. The other elements include a Serif Typography and the following Color Palette:

antipasto wawi, inc. The brand redesign for Wawi, Inc. includes a much cooler, “Italian vintage” and elegant look inspired by the unification of cultures through the kitchen. First, a linear and curved logo for an elegant touch, using sans serif and lettering references. Patterns inspired by our Creole prints; and a general style, based on the search for Italian-style branding. The colors are inspired by the place of origin for the inspiration of the antipasto of Doña Wawi: Calabria, Italy. This re-branding’s main focus, was to give a new look to the labels of their best selling and mos popular products. The vinaigrette chicken and curry chicken antipasto products needed a series of labels for two different size packages, one 9 oz and one 16 oz. For a total of 4 labels. The proposal I developed included: two labels per container, one for the front, for the display of logo, product’s name and patterns, also one for the back with the important data of the product (Ingredients, Nutritional Facts, others). And for a nice touch, but with purpose, a decorative tamper. The typography and Color Palette used, is the following:

de cara a la soledad “De Cara A la Soledad” is a photographic essay, that tries to portray what local elderly people face on their daily lives, since its a time where they tend to isolate themelves from the world and loved ones. “In the Face of loneliness” ... is that gesture or attitude with which a natural stage of life is faced, that we will all reach at a certain point of our lives: old age. This stage of life, often leads, in many cases, towards loneliness or isolation due to countless factors or circumstances, which may even be beyond our own will. Currently, in our society abandonment is very concurrent; Even in an unconscious way. Emotional and physical detachment due to daily routines, take us away from those who spend most of their time alone. Some of our elders are affected by the emigration of close relatives, or some are no longer physically with them; others are limited due to tiredness of age and how their health is affected. However, some assume it, or with serenity, even fearlessly in the face of vulnerability, others with detachment and empathy; but mostly, waiting for a visit, to be heard, to be loved, and to be seen. But somehow, circumstances do not stop them ... the experiences and anecdotes of life have strengthened their spirit, still, they yearn to be heard.

blooming from within postcards St. Valentine’s 2018 postcard set, Blooming From Within, was a personal project in which I illustrated (outline style) several representations of blooming with love and empathy from the inside out, either as a reminder of self love and personal growth or for couples and their process of yearning. In these representations, I tried to portray the intensity, realism, and depth that romance, sentimentalism, and sensibility can have with the human nature. And how can it bloom and get nurtured in unexpected places.

bauhaus, 100 years! Due to the 100 years of the Buahaus inspiration and influence to architecture and design, The School of Achitecture and Design, from thr Ana G. MĂŠndez University, participated in the San Juan Moda Fashionshow and runway with a collection inspired by the Bauhaus. Us, as graphic designers had the opportunity to participate in the design of the patterns that were later on printed in the fabric and textiles used for each garnment. The one presented got to be as one of the finalists for the selection.

As part of the celebration of the 100 years of the Bauahaus, Bauhaus Plakat was another competition by representing the influence of the Bauhaus by posters, with a few selection of colors and distintive elements. 37

2018 cúspide: equal pay In 2018, I had the chance to participate alongside a group of awesome teammates (Claudia Rivera, Michael A. Arroyo y Felix R. Matos), for the student workshop and competition that the Festival of Cúspide offers. The topic to portray as a poster for a campaign of publicity was “Equal Pay”. Here, to end the wage gap between women and men, which is 24% less in salaries for females, we decided to establish a movement to activate people, mainly women, on their daily payments, to fold their dollars when paying as a represenation of the 24% they owe us. With this project, we won bronce, and also had the experience to work with Paradigm Agency located in El Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico, under the mentordhip of Art Director Pedro Bruno.
