As Black Sea supplies fall, India sells record 1.4 mn tonnes wheat in April

LATEST NEWS : NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India sent out a record 1.4 million tons of wheat in April, four exchange sources said, giving a help to grain markets as purchasers scramble for choices to Black Sea supplies hit hard by the conflict in Ukraine. April is the main month of the monetary year. India, the world's second greatest wheat maker, sent out a record 7 million tons of the grain in monetary 2021-22. India is the main significant provider of wheat during this season, and its commodities of the grain have flooded since Russia attacked Ukraine in late February. It traded only 242,857 tons of wheat in April 2021.


With the new season crop assembled in April, wheat shipments could rise further this month. "In May, shipments could ascend to 1.5 million tons," said a New Delhi-based vendor with a worldwide exchanging firm. "Wheat supplies and rail route vehicles' accessibility have worked on over the most recent couple of weeks and that will help transport out more wheat in May." Purchasers from Asia and the Middle East are buying Indian wheat, as it is less expensive than options, he said.
