Partner of the Month: Prevent Blindness

One of the best ways to help students succeed in the classroom is to make sure they are seeing clearly. LCCAA Head Start works with Prevent Blindness to provide vision screenings to all enrolled children.

Vision plays a critical role in children’s physical, cognitive and social development. Visual functioning is also a strong predictor of academic performance in schoolage children.

Without early detection and treatment, uncorrected vision disorders can impair child development, interfere with learning, and even lead to permanent vision loss.

Prevent Blindness provides training and equipment to LCCAA Head Start staff to conduct these critical vision screenings.
