Book of the Month: The Pigeon Has to Go to School

Some children will be excited and counting down the days until they start preschool, but not all, and that’s typical.

For all children, talk about things they will see and do at school and remind them of what you will be doing while they are at school. Talk to them about who will be picking them up each day.

For those nervous children, tell fun stories like what art supplies you liked best and your favorite picture book.

After a few days of school, those nerves just melt away when they see all the amazing things to do and play within our Head Start classrooms.
