About I have a passion for designing vibrant and inclusive communities for all living creatures that challenge spatial, formal, and programmatic norms. Projects include but is not limited to: an urban farm in an amusement park, public housing with a pedestrian freeway, and a column (or is it a room?) that gives you a big hug.

Inhabiting the ENDS 402: Urban Housing Studio Professors: Fernanda Hannah Suarez & Tony Osborn In collaboration: Bronwyn Austin & Chutipah Shiengchin Duration: 2 months
Taking a neglected railway track and creating an urban housing project. The existing condition of an extremely narrow site is opened up to the public as an elevated transportation vessel. A public walkway and bike way situated on the third floor cuts through the building block and breeds opportunities within both the private and public realms. The temporality of the public thoroughfare becomes distinguished from the permanence of the private, creating a new symbiotic relationship within the site.

Duo ARCH 501 Studio: Urban farm Professors: Asher Degroot & Tracey Mactavish (Motiv Architects) Individual project Duration: 2 months
This project is an urban pastoral experience where the visitor is confronted with an idea of agriculture within the city, and where the farmer is confronted with their consumers. The existing ecological sanctuary is extended into the site along with the existing boardwalk, allowing for visitors to arrive at the farm in one loop. The boardwalk takes them into an agricultural experience through intentional openings and enclosures, connections and separations, becoming a journey that both relates and differentiates the producer and the consumer.

Continuum ENDS 302 Studio: Laneway House Professor: Mari Fujita Individual project Duration: 2 months
Continuum is a laneway house that emphasizes a heightened domestic experience. The stepping of rooms and programs supports a continuity of movement while maximizing space. This project aims to make domesticity fluid and limitless, regardless of its square footage.

Shallmar Studio AC - Architectural Designer Project Lead: Jennifer Kudlats Status: Completed Contribution: SD, DD, CD, CA
A home for a recreational art collector’s family. The sculptural “Judd Island” signals the heart of the house- the kitchen. The white, totemic elements, reminiscent of the white gallery now become the skeleton of domestic program. I was able to primarily work on this project from SD to CA, responsible for design proposals and presentations, permit drawings, millwork and costing packages, and construction drawings and coordination.

Rizhao Community Art Centre ZAO/standardarchitecture - Architectural Intern Project Team: Zhang Ke, Mingming Zhang, Paolo Failla, Luciano Ricci, Tommy Wang Status: In construction Contribution: SD, DD
Situated in a rural new development in Rizhao, China, this community art centre aims to be a cultural hub for the community. The open ground floor cascades with the topography, creating an open air amphitheatre. A grand ramp leads you to the gallery space underground while a grid of indoor and outdoor courtyards create a multitude of meanderings on the top floor. A bridge connects people to the building via a roof terrace. During my time at ZAO, I was able to further develop the ramp, gallery, and courtyard spaces through form studies, material tests, and plan proposals.

Synapse Competition: Tokyo (anti) Library In collaboration: Katherine Co Duration: 3 months
à la Fahrenheit 451, the traditional library is an endangered typology. The future of libraries is a battle of swift adaption. Tokyo’s future relies on the optimal transportation of both people and information. This digital library values efficiency, knowledge, and social opportunity. The proposed new train station addresses the densification of the future as well as aids in bringing people closer to information. Structural columns also act as data storage banks, and translucent cells transform into study spaces, social spaces, and walkways.

It’s Pink! ARCH 520 Studio: 1:1 installation Professor: Thena Tak In collaboration with: Zachary Morris Duration: 3 weeks
Using the prompts “squish, pat, plush,” we designed and built a seemingly inconspicuous column (or is it a room?) nestled offset of a row of structural columns at the Laserre building. This room puts discovery, playfulness, and delight at the forefront where one’s perception and ideas are constantly surprised. The room is upholstered on all surfaces, providing one both confusion and comfort as their body is hugged by this room- or is it a column?
